Pizza in the Park Design Objectives The objective was to create a digital illustration of a map and logo for a shop local event, Pizza in the Park. The design needs to include a map with identifiable icons. The requirement also included creating swag for the event.

Design Brief Pizza in the Park is a shop local event that gathers different pizza restaurants from all over the state. Pizza in the Park is an event in Central Park located in New York. The event is intended for an audience that enjoys pizza and desires different kinds of pizza. The logo is a geometric design with a slab serif typeface to parallel with the logo. The logo itself is a pepperoni pizza that is the focal point of a rectangle shape to represent Central Park. The markers are pepperoni pizza that has specific placement of pepperoni, representing the location of the restaurants. The other markers are red circles with a white outline, representing pepperoni. These are scattered around the map and include an icon inside to signify location.

Falling Apart Design Objectives The objective was to create a two-color design resembling pop art.

Design Brief The design focuses on a woman holding a red rose with the petals falling. Her hair, lips, and eyes were enhanced with the color red to achieve a pop look. The design appears inside of a vertical rectangle frame. This image was made to match a appearance of the Pop Art comic panel. The design started as a sketch on paper and later scan to be outlined in Adobe Illustrator using the pen tool. The pen tool was used to outline the bigger detail of the design. The smaller detail such as the eye and lines in the rose a Wacom Tablet were used. Once the design was outlined the color was added. For the design to be ready for print, the colors of the design were separated.


Magazine Layout Design Objectives The design objective was to create a magazine layout for the article, “Why Simple Is Sexy Again.” The requirement was to create a magazine that includes the text, photo, and colors that fit the theme, while also creating a visually appealing magazine. The cover for the magazine requires to be a photo composite that would fit the theme.

Design Brief The magazine cover is a composite of a MacBook with an older Mac Desktop on the screen. The composite was created using Adobe Photoshop. The background of the magazine consists of a blown-up computer circuit. The design of the magazine utilizes charcoal gray bars flowing through the pages with a blue or white background. Within the charcoal gray bars the left side showcases newer technology while the right side showcases older technology. These photos were chosen based on the articles mentioning the benefits of older technology. The magazine layout was created using InDesign.


Fresh Kicks Design Objectives The design objective was to create a unique subscription box for Fresh Kicks. The requirement was to create a logo, pattern, swag, website, and do a photo shoot for the subscription box. The design for the subscription box needed to be one that commanded attention and incorporated a playful design.

Design Brief Fresh Kicks is a subscription box that combines music and graffiti to create shoe designs to be mailed to subscribers monthly. This month’s box was based on the music artist Bad Bunny. Fresh Kicks company will then create a shoe and design that fits best with the artist’s style. Since the artist is known to wear bright colors and has a unique style, Fresh Kicks created a shoe with pink, green, orange, and yellow colors. These colors were selected because of how bright they are and how they made the shoe easily identified. The shoes were hand-painted. The target audience is teenagers and young adults. The logo contains the words Fresh Kicks that resemble a paint splatter, sitting on top of the splatter is a paint bucket character holding a brush. These associated images are intended to create the idea that the character is responsible for the splatter. The logo is used on the box; the box is a white box that has pink splatter dripping from the side. The outside of the box includes a pattern and on the inside is where the shoes are kept. The photos were taken at a park while with graffiti and a model to represent the brand.

Illustrated Artist Series Design Objectives The objective was to create a series featuring digitalizes images of rap artists. The rap artist is A$AP Rocky, Pop Smoke, and Lil Uzi Vert.

Design Brief These images were created using a reference photo that was brought into Adobe Illustrator. The pen and pencil tools were utilized to create the outline of the artists. These same tools were used to create the shapes of the artist highlight, shadow, and details. A Wacom tablet was used to create details in the illustration. Each of the illustration backgrounds uses color and the tint of the color. Then, behind the artists, are parts of their name being shown in a lower opacity.


Fusion Design Objectives The design objective was to create two series parts of the packaging for Fusion. The requirement was to create a logo, pattern, animation, and packaging for the tea product.

Design Brief Fusion is a tea brand that contains a mix of two fruit flavors to create a unique tea blend. The logo for Fusion is two half circles of two different colors to create a full circle, which in turn creates a starburst that covers the front cover of the packaging, creating a focal point. The colors come from the two mixed fruit flavors. Also, the two featured fruits sit inside a mug, resting in the corner of the circle. The name Fusion appears in the middle of the circle. The logotype for Fusion is a serif and below the name of the flavor in a san-serif typeface. The name of the drink, for example, Belmon Berry, and Pango Apple, are located below Fusion. Blemon Berry is a mixture of blackberry and lemon. Pango Apple is a mixture of pineapple and mango. Using these elements an animation was created for an ad on Instagram. The animation consists of the two fruits colliding together creating a splatter. Colliding leads into a spin creating a starburst effect. The name Fusion, Blemon Berry, and the cup will then fade in showing the whole logo. This animation utilizes the program Adobe Animate. The outside of the package will include information about how to brew, ingredients, location, and barcode, while the inside includes a pattern of the fruit.

Size Em Up Design Objectives The designs objective was to create an app with a heavy focus on user interface and user experience design. The requirement was to create a logo, design skins, and screen flow. The app design is intended to help the user organize information about the size of clothing family and friends currently wear.

Design Brief Size Em Up is an app that helps the user organize specific information about clothing sizes for family and friends. The app stores information by sections for friends by including their clothing sizes along with a photo of the person and a quick reference for their sizes. The selection for the app includes a shirt, pants, shoes, suits, etc. When selecting the clothing item, the user will then scroll to select the size of the clothing. This app also allows the user to share with others. The logo for the app is a blue clothing tag with a white text for Size Em Up on the inside. The logotype is a sansserif typeface. The logo also includes a ribbon and stitches on the clothing tag. The color for the app uses a gradient of dark blue and a light blue.


Catawba Farms Design Objectives The design objective was to create a beer series for Catawba Farms. The requirement was to create a series for the beer, beer pull tap, keg collar, and swag that fit a farmhouse aesthetic. This project was developed in a group.

Design Brief The beer series included a character to help represent the beer name and a pattern with a solid hill border on the bottom. There are six beer cans, and each contains a different character, color, and name. The cans included two playful typefaces, Indie Flower and Challops. My focus was creating a beer pull tap that features a brown table-leg shape with six disks that matches the colors of each of the cans. These six disks were able to spin to create a playful theme on the beer pull tap. On top of the disks was a block that includes the name Catawba Farms that was burned into the wood and was filled with white for better readability. On top of the beer tap was a cylinder-shaped metal strip to hold a magnet label that included the name of the beer. The keg collar includes government regulation information and a pattern of all the characters behind the information.


Design Legend Cube Design Objectives The objective was to create a brochure that informs others about the life of Herb Lubalin while also showcasing some of his work.

Design Brief The design is a cube with each side including parts of Herb Lubalin’s significance in graphic design and his work. Each side of the cube will feature different colors of red, blue, orange, yellow, and tan. These were the colors that Lubalin used often in his work. The information was on the inside and outside of the cube; this cube was designed to be folded two ways.


AGD Rebrand Design Objectives The design objective was to create a rebrand for Advertising and Graphic Design (AGD) to modernize the design. The requirement was to create a new logo, pattern, and swag for AGD. This project was developed in a group.

Design Brief The Advertising and Graphic Design rebrand addressed the letters AGD and included the colors of light green, gray, and turquoise. The logo featured two primary logos, one with a gradient and one with a flat color application. The logo style was then carried over to the swag design, creating products, such as mouse pads, tote bags, stickers, masks, and buttons. The AGD Rebrand also included a light bulb and pen tool icons for the brand. These concept items were used to create a pattern to be used for mouse pads or future packaging. My focus was on creating instruction for cleaning the screen in the darkroom. This included the steps of cleaning the screens and an icon following the instruction. The software utilized Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.


Seventh Street Trash Haul

Design Objectives

The objective was to create a logo, microsite, and animation for the company, Seventh Street Trash Haul. The design for the microsite was to inform and attract the target audience to participate in an event. The microsite also features a fun animated logo for the overall brand.

Design Brief Seventh Street Trash Haul is a trash haul company located in Michigan. The logo for the company features a green street sign with a white refuse container and company name located inside. This logo was then taken to be creatively used as an animation using Adobe Animate. The animation in the first scene displays a close-up of a tire doing a burnout. After the burnout, the second scene is the trash bin and text flying in from the right side and slamming to the left side of the wall. After the crash, the trash bin and text will slowly back up in place to show the full logo. This animation also includes sounds of a tire burnout, crash, and a truck backing up. The microsite includes information about the contest and how to enter, while also including details about how it’s important to pick up trash and the benefits. The microsite was created using Adobe Muse.
