Sweet Shop Design Objective The project objective was to create a new unique sweet shop in the community. The requirements for the project include branding, brand guidelines, a micro-site, a logo, and a social media campaign. The branding should relate to the cafe and the atmosphere it creates.
Design Brief Cafe on Kake Street was designed as a new local cafe hangout for people of different ages. The logo uses the serif Bernard MT Condensed font, and a gold and brown color scheme. The main logo is made to look like a sign that hangs from the actual restaurant, and has accents on the typography itself. The micro-site opens up with an image of the interior of the cafe along with a description of the atmosphere. This then transitions to photos of the food offered and a description of menu items. The classy feel of the logo is represented across the micro-site as a whole. The social media campaign also encompasses the cafe life by using photos of the interior atmosphere with photos from events held inside the cafe from time to time. Visitors can keep up to date with events on Facebook and Instagram by viewing the scheduled set posts.

Task Quest App Design Objective The project objective was to create and prototype a new unique app people need to download to help with daily tasks. The app was designed to follow the user’s location on a map as he completed tasks. The app was tested by various people as well during the designing process. The requirements for the project include branding, brand guidelines, personas, various screens of the app, and a flow-chart of the connected screens. There is also a business plan that includes how the app will make money from the average consumer from in-app purchases.
Design Brief The logo is made to look like a magnifying glass, which is a highly recognizable object used in treasure hunting. The font itself, which is called A Font with Serifs, is interesting because the size of certain parts appears larger under the magnifying glass graphic. The graphic also makes up the letter Q in the word Quest. The color palette is inspired by colors found on old treasure maps used by pirates, and these colors are used to emit a playful tone. The various screens of the app are very easy to navigate, and some can be changed by the user such as the theme of the map, or the player avatar. The user inputs a virtual checklist of chores to complete, and the app generates a map the user follows to complete the quest and finish the chores. The app rewards users for successfully completing all the tasks for the day.

Digital Illustration Design Objective The project objective was to develop and illustrate a fantasy character with a backstory from pencil or pen, and then make a digital painting from the same analog drawing. The digital process was to be done in Adobe Photoshop utilizing a Wacom tablet.
Design Brief The original drawing depicts a man wearing a feathered wrap, long torn coat, and a bird mask protruding out from underneath an old tattered hat. The character’s name is Mordecai Bonehart, a hunter of werewolves, vampires, and ghosts that invade his town. Mordecai sports a long garb made of crow feathers, and a long blue coat that has been torn in the many countless battles he has fought in. His mask, which is perhaps the most unique, resembles a bird beak for which he uses to conceal his real face. The mask and feathers pay tribute to the raven which is known to represent death, the very thing that plagues the town Mordecai watches over. The digital illustration uses shadows, mid tones, and highlights to show the various details of the clothing on Mordecai.

Blue and yellow color palettes were used to show the transition of emotions from depressed to joyous, and the line work on the text resembling brain waves. The trade show booths follow the color scheme of the logo by using half yellow, and half blue on the wings and sides of the booth. The brain wave line work is also shown on the sides of the booth. A graphic of a woman doing yoga is shown on the front of the booth to emphasize the tagline of the logo “Find your center.
