Digital Painting Digital Painting, Page Layout

Design Objective The objective was to create a digital Painting in Adobe Photoshop. Using the painting, a planner series will be designed. For the series, a notebook, stickers, and washi tape were also created.

Design Brief The design of the painting features orcas swimming under the Aurora Borealis. The planner series was created using the illustration. On each page, elements of the illustration are implemented. A notebook was created with similar aspects of the planner. Stickers and washi tape were designed using elements of the digital painting.


Pharmaceutical Branding Branding, Packaging

Design Objective The objective was to brand a new weight loss prescription drug, Allestin. From the branding, an animation of the logo was created. A modular trade show booths were designed. For the booths, 10’ x 10’ and 10’ x 20’ prototypes were constructed at a 1/10 scale.

Design Brief The color palette used are yellow and blues. This color palette was chosen for the bright, cheerfulness of the colors. The logo’s mark goes from thick to thin, to showcase how the drug works. For the animation, the mark expands like sun rays from the typography. The trade show booths display iconography and blue monotone photography.

Design Objective The objective was to develop and brand an original sports team. For branding, a primary, secondary, and tertiary logo were created. Along with team branding, wayfinding was designed to showcase the brand.

Design Brief The design for the Alabama Hammers brand was conceived from the state bird of Alabama, the Northern Flicker. The color palette of yellow, orange, and blue is derived from the Northern Flicker, which is also known as the Yellow Hammer. With the Alabama Hammers being a basketball team, a basketball is incorporated into the logo design.

Packaging Design Branding, Packaging, Web

Design Objective The objective was to develop and brand a company. The company would sell products of different flavors or types. For the company, a logo and pattern were designed for the packaging. The packaging will include two different flavors with cohesive designs. For the company, a multi-page website was created.

Design Brief The design of Good Barks is a dog inside of a circle. The circle represents a food bowl since it is a dog treat company. For the color palette, natural tones were used in the logo as well as on packaging and website. The packaging is for beef and chicken flavors, so corresponding colors and iconography are used. The website design uses the elements of the branding throughout each page and is cohesive with the rest of the brand.

Mixed Media Collage Photo Manipulation

Design Objective The objective was to create a mixed media collage based around a poem or song lyric. The piece had to be composed of two or more photos, a photoshop brush, a vector graphic, and a hand-rendered piece. The poem or song lyric had to be included also.

Design Brief The design of this piece was conceived from a poem about a raven and spirits. The color palette of the piece is cooler tones. A photograph of a raven, a girl, and the Aurora Borealis was used. The Aurora Borealis represents the spirits in the poem. For the hand-rendered element, roses were drawn, scanned, then manipulated to match the color palette of the rest of the piece.


Wine Label Label Design, Surface Design

Design Objective The objective was to design a wine label for the co-branded wine, Red Hawk Red. A logo, front label, and back label were created. From the label, surface design and packaging were designed. A wine tag, a wine bag, and a wine box were created as a three-tier packaging concept. The project was completed as a team with Annie Vo, of HV Design Studio.

Design Brief The design of the Red Hawk Red packaging was derived from the wine label. Using the feather elements from the wine label, each packaging product was designed to be cohesive.


Sweet Shop Branding, Web, Social Media

Design Objective The object was to create an identity for a sweet shop. From the identity, brand the sweetshop, including a logo, patterning, and brand guidelines. Along with the sweetshop brand, develop a social media campaign over three platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. From the social media campaign, create a corresponding microsite.

Design Brief The design of Cupkates brand derives from the company environment. Soft pastel colors of blue, purple, and pink are used within the entire brand. The patterns use elements from the logo’s mark. “Create Your Cupkate” is the social media campaign where customers can come into the bakery to create a cupcake to their specific liking. For the microsite, a list of different cake, frosting and toppings are displayed.

Social Issue Posters Photo Manipulation, Branding

Design Objective The objective was to design three different posters based on social issues. The three posters should be distinctive enough to stand alone, as well as cohesive enough to go together. For the posters, an organization was created and branded with an identity package.

Design Brief The design of the posters was created from the use of different photos. Each poster has at least two photos for the background, a photo of an animal, and a photo of a fence. A photo of a tag is also on each poster that holds each tagline of each social issue and a stamp with “rejected” verbiage. At the bottom of the posters are the organization’s logo and verbiage. For the organization’s logo, a one-line mark of a dog and cat silhouette is paired with a sans-serif font. The posters display a horizontal and vertical version of the logo.

Science After Dark Marketing, Social Media, T-Shirt Design

Design Objective The objective was to create a marketing campaign for the Catawba Science Center. Social media content, stickers, buttons, magnets, posters, and a t-shirt were designed. The project was completed in a classbased design agency.

Design Brief The design of the marketing campaign derived from the concept of the t-shirt. The Science After Dark events served as the focal point of the t-shirt design featuring a wine glass, beer pint, and science flasks. For the posters, design elements were pulled from the t-shirt. A pattern of bubbles and stars was created. The stickers’ and buttons’ designs are exchangeable along with the magnets. The social media content was created using pictures from a photoshoot by Krystallee Cornell, of Nick’s Pics.
