GRAPHIC DESIGN PORTFOLIO
- CRISTINA VALVERDE
ABOUT ME:
My name is Cristina Valverde. I’m an architecture major, and I have found that graphic design provides a wonderful creative outlet that allows me to exercise my imagination and experiment with new ideas. Through my graphic design work, I am able to explore a wide range of design styles and techniques, and I find that the process of bringing a design from concept to completion is incredibly rewarding. In this booklet, you will find a collection of my latest graphic design projects. Each project represents a unique creative challenge that I enjoyed finding creative solutions for.
POSTER
After gathering images that I related to the elements and principles of design, I created a poster that included all of said images. I also made sure that the design of the poster took advantage of the elements and principles to create a coherent design.

PHOTO COLLAGE
Using different images downloaded from the internet, I built a surreal scene that translated through a visually plausible setting. The inspiration behind this design was space travel and tourism.

HEADSHOT RETOUCH
Taking a headshot of myself I used Photoshop to edit and retouch the image, creating a different scene. Initially I had inverted the colors in my image and added a pink gradient but I diverted from that and went for simpler changes.

SELF PORTRAIT

Using a selfie of myself as a base for this design I created an illustration that showcased my personality and style. Using Adobe Illustrator, I made an outline of every part in my image and then filled those in with the colors that corresponded, using blur, saturation and opacity to best match the desired colors.

MAGAZINE COVER
Using my collage design as a base and inspiration I designed a magazine cover for space travel. Using Photoshop and Illustrator

I was able to manipulate the images that I included in the design and created a magazine cover that directly related to space travel and tourism.
