Founded in 1998 by The National Association of Women in Construction, Women In Construction Week aims to further its mission of strengthening and amplifying the successes of women in the field and works to emphasize the growing role of women in the industry. It formally takes place from March 5th - March 11th, but the drive for women in this industry is an endless pursuit. This year's NAWIC theme, 'Many Paths, One Mission,' celebrates the different journeys women have taken toward the same goal: strengthening and amplifying the success of women in the construction industry.
We featured these women across our social media pages during this week with the hopes to inspire and encourage the next generation.
Time at Cutting Edge Homes: Coming up on 9 years!
What Do You Love About Working At CEH?: I love the level of construction and projects our team works on. Each project has unique elements, especially our historic homes, and it's been a pleasure working on many architecturally significant homes.
What is one thing you’ve learned since joining CEH?: Being a good person will always get you far!
Education: Oakmont Regional High School
Things You Enjoy Doing In Your Time Off: I like to farm, barbecue, go to concerts, hunt, run obstacle course races and play the drums!
Over the past few weeks, I have worked alongside Ryan Leary to create a video highlighting the stonework at 10 Irving Road, Weston, specifically, the chimney. A few highlights of this backyard oasis transformation - a custom spa and pool, cabana and lounge area, and statement pool house with floor-toceiling windows and elegant stonework. Our client's goal was to make this new construction pool house look like it was built hundreds of years ago, an old new house if you will.
Klod, our talented mason on the project, works each stone with a hammer and chisel, the way it has been done for thousands of years, to create a complex yet effortless facade. Ryan did a great job during the video; he was a natural on camera! I have attached a link to it below! In the coming weeks, we will be filming a video about the custom windows being flown in from Texas to be assembled and put in place on-site!
