A Note from Emily

20 Revolutionary in Sudbury was a beautiful project to photograph. With the help of Brandy, CEH Interior Designer, we managed to pull off a shoot right in the middle of a furniture delivery, painters, carpenters, punch list tasks and the normal craziness of a family home.

As featured on social media several times and in the last company newsletter, this project is stunning and everyone truly banded together to make the home come to life. The deep, distinguished, dark gray cabinet color sharpened with a hint of blue in the butler's pantry, beautifully accompanies the white oak stained cabinets, touches of bronzed hardware, and grand cooktop found around the corner in the kitchen.

German Potato Pancakes • Emily Noel

"My great grandma and my mom's side of the family are from Germany and we usually have some form of German cuisine on holidays, celebrations, or just for fun. Even if there isn't a celebratory event, my mom makes these Potato Pancakes for breakfast or dessert!"

1 Pound Russet Potatoes 2 medium / 3 small

1/2 Medium Onion

3/4 tsp Kosher Salt

Freshly Ground Pepper

Ground Nutmeg, to taste

1 Large Egg

1/4 cup Vegetable Oil, For Frying

Applesauce and Sour Cream, optional

1 tbsp Coarsely Chopped Parsley

• Wash, peel, and coarsely grate the potatoes

• Place the grated potatoes in a clean dishcloth or cheesecloth and squeeze out as much of the liquid as you can into a bowl.

• Let the liquid stand for a few minutes, then carefully spoon out and discard the top layer of liquid, leaving the potato starch at the bottom of the bowl

• Add the potatoes back to the starch

• Grate the onion over the potatoes Add the salt, pepper, nutmeg, and egg. Mix thoroughly

•Heat the oil over medium high heat in a large skillet, preferably nonstick, until it begins to shimmer.

• Drop about 1/2 cup of potato mixture into the hot oil and flatten with the back of a spoon Fry, undisturbed, for 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

• Drain on paper towels, and serve hot with applesauce and sour cream, if you like. Garnish with parsley, if desired
