HOW
Most clean up treatments can be accomplished in one to two treatments. Additional treatments may be required for very dark spots or where there are multiple unwanted veins.
When the pulse of light is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required; however, some patients may prefer to use a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated.
Within one to three weeks, darkened spots will flake off and fade and your overall complexion should improve. To minimize the reappearance of treated areas, apply sunscreen liberally and limit exposure to direct/indirect sunlight.
Acutip treats the face and various parts of the body quickly without complication. The most popular treatment areas are specific sun spots on the face, chest, shoulders and hands and/or small spider veins on delicate facial areas such as the nose, cheeks, and chin. Cherry angiomas also respond very well to the treatment.
Patients may experience some social downtime.
Sun spots: Immediately following the treatment of sun spots, the spots may start to darken. You may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin. This typically subsides within a couple of hours. Over the course of the next one to three weeks, darkened spots will fade and flake off.
Veins/capillaries: Immediately following the treatment of facial veins or cherry angiomas, the lesion may disappear or turn a dusky gray color. You may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin. Acutip is also effective when combined with other light based and aesthetic procedures.
