Fun facts about Korčula:

July 3 - Mljet and Dubrovnik (B, L, D)

Early afternoon arrival in Korčula followed by a guided walking tour of the enchanting town fortified by walls. Korčula treasures more legends, tales and monuments than any other place, discover some wandering along the herringbone pattern streets. Korčula has an abundant choice of restaurants for a great gourmet experience and there are many bars and clubs for those looking for evening entertainment.

-Korčula’s street layout is shaped like a fishbone. The narrow side streets jut off the main street at an angle, never perpendicularly. This is to protect the town and its residents from the mighty sea winds. The houses on the floors above street level had their windows carefully positioned so as not to look directly in through the window of the house across the street or square.

-The old town only has about 300 residents

Nacionalni Park Mljet

We head further south to the Island of Mljet. Join the cruise manager for a stroll to the famous salt lakes in the Mljet National Park and enjoy the boat ride to the St. Mary Isle, where an ancient Benedictine monastery, an old abbey and a Church dating from the 12th century is situated

A late afternoon arrival in Dubrovnik, but before tied the ropes at the Gruž harbour, the captain will arrange an evening cruise along side the old city walls while a buffet dinner is served. Enjoy the spectacular views of this magnificent ancient town. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik

After breakfast, transfer to the old town for a guided walking tour to enjoy this magical town. There will be plenty of opportunities to take great pictures as the cable car takes us from the Old Town to the Srđ mountain to enjoy scenic views of the Walls and the Elaphiti Islands. Afternoon at leisure to find idyllic spots for lunch and dinner

Meander through the narrow car-free limestone streets – worn smooth under the soles of centuries of pedestrians, seek out a drink in one of the trendy piazzas or walk the famous 1,940 m long walls and take a stroll along the famous STRADUN –both a street and a square, a promenade inside the city walls.

Dubrovnik

Into nightlife? There is an incredible night club in Old Town called Culture Club Revelin housed in a 500 year old medieval fortress.

Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Outside the city walls, modern Dubrovnik offers everything you would expect from a Mediterranean countr. Figs, lemons, oranges and peaches are to be found dangling from the trees in many of the gardens.

Dubrovnik - Do & See

Few places in the world master the mix of young and modern with the medieval and baroque better than Dubrovnik.

Remember the Shame Stairs from Game of Thrones? You can find them here in Dubrovnik!

Dubrovnik is well worth a visit any time of the year, but, naturally, spring and summer brings out the best in the city

The city naturally revolves around the Old Town which is inside the city walls. There, you'll find a blend of shops, cafes, bars, a fantastic atmosphere, and some very beautiful sights as you walk along down the Stradun. The squares in the Old Town are lined with bars or restaurants that have outdoor seating, giving the visitors, as well as the locals, a chance to relax with a drink in the sunshine.

Dubrovnik - The City

Old Town Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik-Neretva County, HR, 20000

The town’s architecture displays very little evidence from the ‘Siege of Dubrovnik’ in 1992, during which more than two thousand bombs were dropped on the town. The only hint of this is the presence of all the newly tiled roofs in town.

“The pearl of the Adriatic” as the city is described, Dubrovnik, offers a great mix of history, sun and sea making it a popular tourist destination. Thanks to its location between the towering Dinaric Alps and the Adriatic Sea, the city has an incredible scenery that just needs to be seen with your own eyes. There are plenty of gems and spots to discover and the visitors are spoiled with choices all year round.

If you want to cool down, head over to one of the beaches with crystal clear sea and within easy reach. Alternatively, why not take a water taxi to one of the islands around Dubrovnik and enjoy gorgeous beaches, lush vegetation and the relaxed vibe. Either way, you will find endless things to do, so you better start planning.

Dubrovnik - Dining

Dubrovnik is full of good restaurants and the small streets inside the Old Town are packed with them. The culinary standards are generally quite high and the choice of food is typically Croatian, as seafood dishes do have a very high priority. The Dalmatian ham is of course also one of the delights and an absolute ‘must taste’ starter dish. The restaurants are open until 11pm or midnight unless otherwise stated.

The nightlife in Dubrovnik is mainly in the Old Town. The town does not have that many nightclubs and the Stradun is the place to be at night. All the shop canopies roll back and the chairs come out transforming the street into a processional of exuberance!

Dubrovnik - Bars & Nightlife

Dubrovnik’s nightlife takes place outdoors for much of the year. The area behind the Cathedral, Buniceva poljana, becomes one big outdoor bar in the spring and summer. The locals tend to hang out in the area between the Old Town and Gruz, where a strip of flashy bars have turned "bana Jelacica" into what the locals call "Bourbon Street".

There are no large-scale shopping centres in Dubrovnik, so target your shopping passions in and around the Old Town. In the Old Town on the main street Stradun, you will find a row of small number of independent stores where local artisans, designers and producers sell their products. It is also in the Old Town several souvenir shops including more luxurious stores are selling jewelleries, gems and clothes. Croatian speciality like olive oil, honey, herb-flavoured rakijas and wine are also easy to get in the area. For more interesting souvenirs to bring back home, head over to the picturesque side streets in the Old DubrovnikTown.also has some fine outdoor markets which are well worth a visit. You can buy fresh vegetables, fruit, olive oils, souvenirs and pretty much everything else you could possibly need.
