This year all our CYCC sessions have been focused on devising, and tonight’s performance is the outcome of those explorations. Presenting a variety of issues and topics that will make you think, question, laugh and drive you to be moved by their insight and interpretation.
An opportunity for the theatre makers of today and the future to voice their opinions about imagination, entertainment, life, social media, identity, growing up, politics and the world we live in.
Told creatively with humour, movement, comedy, song, drama and engaging techniques that will have you on the edge of your seats. Are you ready for CYCC and the young talent on our stages!

Welcome to NO WAY OUT - a computer game with a twist. One click, and you’re transported back to 1960s Lanky Boys School, where the headmaster rules with an iron rod… quite literally.
Together, we explored the question: what makes us who we are? From culture and school life to the world of computer games, these themes became the starting point for creating a piece that combines storytelling with physical theatre in exciting and unexpected ways.
It has been a real pleasure working with this fantastic Year 9 group since September. Over the year, I’ve watched them grow in confidence and maturity, showing courage in trying new skills and dedication in responding to direction, to truly bring their work to life. The trust and teamwork they’ve developed together became so strong that we were able to incorporate physical lifts into the performance — something that can only happen through mutual respect, focus, and support for one another.
Special thanks to Mr. Anderson who has been our constant rock in the rehearsal room, and to Jack Stark who has brought the final piece together for their last few rehearsals.
Congratulations on year 9, I’m so proud of you and I hope you carry on with your acting journeys in the future.
