Welcome everyone to the CYCC Summer shows which celebrate the talents and skills of the participants who attend our weekly sessions.

This year all our CYCC sessions have been focused on devising, and tonight’s performance is the outcome of those explorations. Presenting a variety of issues and topics that will make you think, question, laugh and drive you to be moved by their insight and interpretation.

An opportunity for the theatre makers of today and the future to voice their opinions about imagination, entertainment, life, social media, identity, growing up, politics and the world we live in.

Told creatively with humour, movement, comedy, song, drama and engaging techniques that will have you on the edge of your seats. Are you ready for CYCC and the young talent on our stages!

OF STORMS “Welcome to the circus, a place full of fun, light and laughter, but in the background can you hear the rumble of the thunder? A storm is brewing and who knows what that might bring…”

This term the students were given the theme of Circus for their year of devising. I hoped that the bright lights, magic, and drama of the circus would act as the perfect food for their imagination; and they loved it. We’ve had great fun creating this piece, from collaborative ideas sessions, character creation, and energetic choreography, to getting the script up on its feet. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them. Their passion, eagerness to learn and how they throw their whole heart into what they do, is such a wonderful thing to witness. So please, sit back, have your popcorn and candy floss at the ready, and cheer loudly, as you enjoy your day at the circus.

CURVE YOUNG COMMUNITY COMPANY Our Curve Young Community Company (CYCC) is for young people aged 5 – 19 years with an interest and passion for performing arts.

Our members meet regularly at Curve to develop their skills, have fun, make new friends, and develop their understanding of the industry alongside professional artists and creative teams. Participants also have the opportunity to perform on our stages in productions and be involved in special events at Curve and as part of our Made at Curve productions. Our Curve Youth and Community Companies (CYCC) are open to all and there are opportunities for every level of experience.
