AFFORDABILITY
As part of the City University of New York we place quality, affordability, and value at the forefront of everything we do. Our tuition is among the lowest in New York State. A CUNY education costs a fraction of private school tuition. Our financial aid counselors will work with you to combine federal and state funds, scholarships, grants, loans, or veteran’s benefits to help you pay for your education.
CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING
Transfer up to 105 credits through prior learning and work experience Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) is available to every undergraduate student and can be a faster path to completing your degree. You may already have past experiences that qualify for credit—and not even know it! We offer several CPL opportunities to recognize your previous education and workplace training. You can earn credit for coursework from regionally accredited institutions, corporate or military training, college-level exam programs, or a portfolio that demonstrates knowledge gained outside the classroom. Find out how many credits you may qualify for by visiting sps.cuny.edu/academics/ credit-prior-learning. You can also explore how your credits may transfer across CUNY programs through CUNY Transfer Explorer (CUNY TREX) at explorer.cuny.edu.
ORIENTATION
As an admitted student, you’ll take part of an online Orientation. This serves as a chance for us to welcome you to the CUNY SPS community and provide information about concrete steps you can take now to help you during the upcoming semester, including webinars on topics like Credit for Prior Learning or Resources for Success.
