Bridge Sports Complex BRIDGEPORT, WV Spinning on a merry-go-round is a cherished childhood memory for many adults. We remember that rush of excitement when our parent grabbed the handle and started to run, nerves melting into laughter as we caught their reassuring smile through the bars.

What many of us didn’t notice back then were the barriers that kept some children from participating. Stories like these are why spaces like Bridgeport Sports Complex matter. When the park opened, people of all ages and abilities ran to explore the new play area, each drawn to a different experience. It is an environment where everyone can come as they are, playing side by side on swings, discovering sensory panels together, or simply connecting through shared spaces.

Windsor Rec Center WINDSOR, CO The desire to play doesn’t go away with age; it just transforms. As children grow into adults, exercise often becomes their preferred way to unwind and have fun. Windsor Recreation Center embraces this, creating a park that excites adults just as a playground once exhilarated them as children.

As adults approach the space, they’re immediately drawn to the THRIVE unit at the center, marked by its tall, blue shade canopies. Each component of this compact fitness station encourages movement in different ways.

To the left is the Challenge Course Pro, an obstacle course designed to spark friendly competition between older children and adults. Its dynamic layout brings out everyone’s inner child, leaping from obstacle to obstacle in pursuit of a new personal best. On the right, we included GTfit exercise stations designed with older adults in mind. Many of these pieces, such as the Shoulder Rotator, feature accessible designs that help users of all abilities improve flexibility and mobility.

Whitney Commons Park SHERIDAN, WY To the community of Sheridan, Wyoming, Whitney Commons Park is more than a playground, it's a celebration of their rich history and distinct identity. Coal mining played a crucial role in shaping Sheridan’s early development. In the 1890s, the arrival of the Burlington Railroad inspired the creation of coal mines along the Tongue River. Between 1890 and 1920, Sheridan County’s population grew rapidly as people from diverse backgrounds moved to the area in search of opportunity.

To honor that heritage, Sheridan’s Parks department and local foundation, Whitney Benefits, partnered with GameTime to design custom play attractions inspired by the town’s mining history. Children can explore little mining tunnels or climb aboard a black train, sparking new adventures with each visit. Pendergrass Park DAYTON, TN The community of Dayton, Tennessee had long hoped for an updated outdoor recreation space. Through a partnership between BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation, IMPACT Parks, and GameTime, Pendergrass Park was revitalized with new equipment designed to inspire intergenerational play for people of all abilities.

Pendergrass Park qualifies as a National Demonstration Site for both inclusion and youth physical activity. This distinction not only recognizes the park’s commitment to evidence-based design, but also supports ongoing data collection to measure its impact on the Dayton community. The findings are shared with key stakeholders, helping everyone involved see the difference the park is making and reinforcing how important these outdoor spaces are to community well-being. Carol Fox Park JERSEY VILLAGE, TX Nostalgia runs deep in Jersey Village, Texas. This small town houses just over 8,000 residents, many of whom have called the community home for more than two decades. Every adult in Jersey Village carries memories of Carol Fox Park. Affection for the space is literally etched in stone, with the names of volunteers carved into the pavement by their own hands.

When the Jersey Village Parks and Recreation Department decided it was time to update Carol Fox Park, those carvings sent a clear message: the new park had to be something special, something unique, while still honoring the memories of the old space. Armed with sketchbooks and a dream, the team began designing a giant, climbable kraken, gradually crafting an immersive, aquatic-themed playground.The system’s green and blue color palette creates a visual connection between land and sea, complementing the surrounding trees. Now, that signature nostalgia of Jersey Village has taken on a new form, for future generations—what will you do for your community?
