ATRIUM GALLERY • STEVE CHILDS EXHIBIT The Music & the Arts Ministry (MATA) is eager to introduce its new art exhibit series - Art in the Atrium - with the grand opening of Centenary’s Atrium Gallery (formerly the Art Room). Local artist Steve Childs’ art will be on display in the Gallery and available for purchase throughout the month of September. 20% of proceeds will benefit City with Dwellings.

MISSIONS A BED AND A BOOK Centenary will be at the Dash Stadium for “A Bed and A Book” on September 24. In preparation for this mission event we are collecting new, never been used, bedding for twin beds. This includes pillows, bed sheets, mattress protectors, and comforters.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS Are you a visual artist? Consider submitting your work for the October/November Centenary Artists exhibit in the Atrium Gallery. The exhibit’s title Genesis: A New Creation – draws inspiration from our recent Transformation on Fifth campaign, our new Atrium Gallery, and our emergence from the pandemic. A portion of proceeds from art sales will benefit City with Dwellings. Deadline for art submission is Tuesday, September 27. CALLING NEW HANDBELL RINGERS Do you love handbells? Maybe you played in a handbell choir in high school or college but haven’t put on gloves a while. Or maybe you read music and sing/play another instrument but have always wanted to learn to play bells. CHILDREN’S MUSIC & ART NIGHT HAS BEGUN It is not too late for children ages 2 through 6th grade to join us every Thursday night from 5:00-6:35pm for Children’s Music & Art Night! Programming includes choir, handbells, handchimes, Kindermusik, art and more! Dinner is available from 4:30-6:30pm.

Donations are collected weekly on site. Adult supervision is required for dinner. (Children ages 2-3 are dismissed at 5:40. Participation requires adult accompaniment.) UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH NEW NAME United Methodist Women is now doing business as United Women in Faith. The corporation itself will remain United Methodist Women. “Our new name is part of an overall move to refresh our organization that includes a new look, new feel and new and improved programs. We will be able to better nurture our current members while welcoming into our sisterhood new women who want to put their love in action. The new operating name is also welcoming to women whose local churches may choose to align with another denomination or who are already members of other denominations.”

SUNDAY SCHOOL Join us every Sunday at 10:00 am on the fourth floor for Youth Sunday school taught by our interim associate Andrew Epermanis. There will be snacks and time for fellowship before the lesson every week! We will be starting a new study, Jesus Creed, on September 11. Until then, we are looking at how Jesus is discussed in the book of Mark.

LOVE THY NEIGHBOR We are so excited to be starting back our Love Thy Neighbor Ministry for the year! One Sunday a month, the youth and other church volunteers work together to provide a hot meal and medical clinic for our homeless and marginally housed neighbors from all around Winston. This is a beautiful time of community building that we hope you will feel called to join us for.
