The “parable of the rich fool” is a story Jesus told about a person who hoards a bumper crop of goods in anticipation that he will never be needy, only to learn that he will soon pass away. It illustrates the spiritual cost of hoarding wealth and misusing material possessions This week, Glenn invited us to consider John Wesley's three principles of earning, saving, and giving that can serve as a guide for ways to handle money that honor God. True wealth comes not from accumulating possessions, but from using our resources wisely to serve others and advance God's kingdom. By examining our relationship with money and practicing intentional generosity, we can become truly rich in God's eyes.

Lord, open my heart to hear your wisdom. Help me understand how I can better use the resources you've given me to serve your kingdom. Amen.

• What's the difference between saving wisely and hoarding wealth?

• How do you determine if a job/career aligns with God's calling for your life?

• What prevents us from being more generous with our resources?

• What role might contentment play in our financial decisions?

• How can you use your resources to address issues like hunger and homelessness in Forsyth County?

• For Kids & Families: If you had a million dollars that you couldn’t keep, but had to give away, what would you do with it?

Glenn said that money is a gift from God for the benefits it brings to society in the hands of God’s children: for feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, etc. Take a look at your bank account or bank statement. What does your bank statement say about what you believe money is for? Identify one area where you could reduce expenses to free up resources for giving.

Heavenly Father, help us to be wise caretakers of all you've given us. Guide us to earn honestly, save prudently, and give generously. May we use our resources to bring hope to others and glory to your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
