JUNE IS ‘VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL’ MONTH
By Brooke Weisner, FOR THE MISSIONS TEAM

There is so much that goes into making VBS special and exciting for all of the children who attend and for the volunteers. The planning for VBS starts, and I'm not even joking, the day after the last VBS ends. I think Pastor Aj told me what this year's VBS theme was less than an hour after VBS 2022 was over. As someone who first started attending VBS in 2010, it's absolutely crazy to think about how much has changed and how much has stayed the same in the past 13 years. The passion, the love, the want to spread God's word to our whole community has stayed exactly the same even as our themes have changed over the years. VBS is extremely important in our community. It is an opportunity for all children to get to know and love Jesus. Every June, we have been blessed as a church to have such wonderful volunteers; crew leaders, station leaders, station assistants - and so many more, to help make VBS extra special for each of these kiddos. This year, VBS is June 18 - 22 (6PM-8:30PM) right here at the church, as it has been for many, many years. There have already been so many people who have started working on projects for this year, many of which are currently behind-the-scenes, but some you may be able to see. It takes so many wonderful people to put together this amazing event. One way that everyone is able to participate at VBS is through our daily mission spotlights. Each night of VBS, everyone learns about a different mission that the church participates in and then the next day, anyone who would like can bring in something to donate for that specific mission. It is such a fantastic way for everyone to learn about missions and what they can do for people in our local community and all over the world. In the past 13 years, I have learned so much about what it means to grow in the church and spread God's love to others through VBS. Every year, I look forward to getting to see all the participants and volunteers come together. I hope to see all of you at this year's STELLAR VBS!

DISCIPLE is a program of disciplined Bible study aimed at developing strong Christian leaders. The study gives the Old and New Testaments equal time, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God. DISCIPLE draws upon the work of scholars, the personal Bible reading and study of the participant, and dynamic group discussion to aid understanding of the Bible. The first study in the program is DISCIPLE: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY, a thirty-four week overview of the entire Bible! We are planning to begin a new class in the Fall of 2023! We'd love to get you connected and help you be a part of this life changing study!
