3. “I give back to CU because of the strong sense of community I felt as a student and continue to feel as an alum. 5. “As a first-generation college student, I understand how scholarships help make dreams become a reality. I was only able to attend Cumberland because I received scholarships funded by the generosity of others. CU gave me a home away from home, including my Kappa Sigma Fraternity family. It is our responsibility as alumni to provide others the same opportunities afforded to us.” -John Winnett ‘04 Washington D.C.

6. “In 1944, I traveled to Omaha Beach for combat, and in 1946, I made my way to Lebanon to begin my education at Cumberland. On July 3, 1949, I came home with many wonderful memories. Although it has never been much, I give when I can because Cumberland deserves all I can contribute.” -Jack Hamlin ‘49 Springfield, MO
