Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation
The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation scholarship program awards annual scholarships and grants for the education of deserving female students with financial need at more than 200 accredited educational institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
A significant number of scholarships and grants support students interested in health education, specifically medical, nursing and allied health fields.
Chartered in 1946, the Foundation was created by Conkey Pate Whitehead, Lettie Pate Whitehead’s youngest son, in memory of his mother. Mrs. Whitehead was a passionate supporter of education, and she gave generously to many educational institutions during her lifetime.
