” Cumberland Lodge, the educational foundation based in the heart of Windsor Great Park, has been challenging silo thinking and providing a safe space for ‘unsafe’ discussions since 1947. We are highly respected for our cutting-edge work with universities, schools, parliamentarians, NGO s, and organisations such as the National Health Service, the Inns of Court and the Police.

Today, society is undergoing huge changes and Cumberland Lodge is working hard to respond.

We have ambitious plans to broaden our activities, to do more to address the root causes and effects of social divisions and to meet (head-on) the new challenges we face in creating peaceful, tolerant and inclusive societies.

The generosity of our friends and supporters has always been invaluable to our charitable mission of bringing together leaders and influencers, students and practitioners, to engage in constructive dialogue and creative thinking on the social and ethical issues that affect us all.

Now we are looking to the future and seeking to build an endowment fund of £7.5 million. This will supplement our existing income and enable us to take our work to a new level and secure it in perpetuity.

We invite you to help us expand and develop our work in addressing some of the most pressing issues facing society today, by supporting this fundraising initiative.

our vision for the future

Cumberland Lodge operates on a not-for-profit basis. Operational costs are currently £2 .7 million per year, and will increase as we expand and develop our work.

Looking ahead, our aspiration is to expand our work and increase our impact for the betterment of society. Our vision is to offer: Free (as opposed to subsidised) places for a broad spectrum of delegates to attend our conferences, seminars and study retreats

We are primarily funded by income from our commercial conference trade and by charging delegates to attend our charitable events.

Fundraising and investments each currently account for just 2% of our income.

Conference follow-up seminars close to Parliament, to take our discussions directly to policymakers and opinion formers High-quality briefing documents and reports to disseminate learning from our conferences and seminars to the public

We are already maximising our conference trade activity and applying for grants and donations from new sources, but we will also need to draw on the generosity of individual donors and legacies to secure our work going forward.

An endowment fund of £7.5 million will generate sufficient annual income to allow us to expand our activities in perpetuity.

We invite you to join us in addressing the causes and effects of social divisions, to create more peaceful, tolerant and inclusive societies. Your gift will be critical to the fulfilment of our charitable mission.
