Exclusive invitation to a private performance of the Mary Seacole play to be performed at St George’s Hall. Receipt of commemorative pieces of the actual stone from which the statue is created. NUMBERS We believe in full transparency of all activities involved in the construction of the statue of Mary Seacole and have detailed the costs associated with the project below.
£165,000 - Cost of Statue This is an all-inclusive cost of £120,000 ex.VAT to create the statue, which will include cost for materials, fabrication, transportation and installation, and all fees and expenses. The remainder of the budget covers the all-inclusive costs for the design fee of several maquette’s of £4,000 (exc. VAT) each to select the winning statue and award the commission.
£15,000 - Promotional Costs Includes brochure production, marketing, videos, online content, and the recording of the statue creation process. Three artists from the final selection list will be required to create maquettes for which the winning design can be promoted and raise excitement of the project.
£20,000 - Educational Projects The education plan will educate people on who Mary Seacole was, to develop educational collaboration projects with key partners, to support young Seacole ambassadors, and to create sculpture masterclasses with the winning sculptor for up and coming artists.
£20,000 - Events and Hospitality There will be a programme of support events and hospitality to help develop the awareness of the Mary Seacole statue project, celebrate the life of Mary Seacole, and help raise the funds to develop the statue and educational projects.
