Wei is from China (Xinjiang), and he discovered he had a scientific mind early with experiences in chemistry. He unveiled a captivating world, and he became fascinated by French researchers. It was through an exchange program between the Tongji University in Shanghai and the University of Lille that this tireless scientist arrived in France. After this successful experience, he chose to continue his Master course at the Ecole Centrale in Lille in partnership with the French Institute of Petroleum, and to do a thesis in partnership with the ENS of Lyon. Wei eventually left chemistry to work in physics, and more precisely in solar power: an additional challenge he addresses brilliantly. In addition to his commitment to the development of sustainable energy solutions, Wei cultivates his love for modern art.

Health Safety measures for Fall 2020
To effectively fight the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, a series of health safety measures are in effect in France. Higher education establishments are taking action to protect the health of their students. Choose France Tour 2020 (online)
Choose France Tour is a bi-annual event organized by the French Institute in India where representatives of French Institutions meet face-to-face with the Indian students and present their graduate, post-graduate and doctoral programmes. Due to global pandemic, the Choose France Tour will be organized virtually in October 2020 on a platform consisting of web and mobile application. It will facilitate direct interactions between the Institutions and the students with advanced features such as live chat, chat rooms, Q&A, webinars, presentation rooms, quiz/contest etc.

Les cultures, les langues et les esprits...

Les cultures ! Il y a en beaucoup autour de nous ! On peut les explorer en lisant des romans, en recherchant sur internet, à travers des reportages, des voyages et c’est la meilleure façon d’apprendre les langues ! Quand on apprend une langue, on adapte une partie de la culture aussi. Comment ? Parce que nous contemplons de véritables situations de notre vie. On améliore notre lexique et on jongle avec des éléments lexicaux et grammaticaux pour que nous puissions nous exprimer. En apprenant une nouvelle langue, nous commençons à développer une compétence linguistique cognitive et par conséquent nous nous libérons de cette tutelle; qui nous renvoie vers la traduction.
Mais, l’apprentissage d’une langue et le fait d’explorer une culture changeraient-ils notre pensée? Et bien oui, car nous développons un esprit critique qui nous permettrait de mettre en place une intercompréhension culturelle Comment une langue pourrait-elle nous aider dans le développement d’une communication tolérante universelle? Quel effet a-t-elle sur nos pensées ?
La langue, étant une partie intégrale de la culture; regrouperait en outre un ensemble de d’éléments qui forment le patrimoine comme la gastronomie, la littérature, la philosophie... qui nous donneraient de nouvelles perspectives et donc de voir les choses à travers un réseau formé d’une multitude de tuyaux. L’acquisition de nouvelles compétences linguistiques, nous permettrait par conséquent l’élargissement du
spectre culturel tout en évaluant divers aspects par l’expression de nos pensées.
L’esprit critique est fondé sur l’expression verbale et écrite qui nous permettent d’évaluer et de structurer les idées en les présentant sous la forme d’un point de vue. Apprendre une langue, nous permettrait donc d’améliorer l’intercompréhension qui pourrait aboutir vers la mise en oeuvre d’une méthode d’interaction universelle qui réduirait les barrières linguistiques qui se dressent aujourd’hui. L’ouverture d’esprit, nous permet d’établir un modèle de communication basé sur l’empathie.
La mondialisation nous ouvre l’accès vers de nouvelles opportunités au niveau des domaines social, économique et culturel dont la structure reposerait sur les piliers du multiculturalisme et multilinguisme.
