Embracing the mosaic’s beauty, we witness countless unique pieces uniting to build a grand tapestry. Each vibrant fragment contributes to this breathtaking picture—a reflection of our community’s diversity. At the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, we invite you to Be a pART of our vibrant living mosaic. Reflecting on the past year, we extend profound gratitude for your steadfast support. Your presence in our vision has empowered our journey as an organization dedicated to providing world-class, inclusive spaces that nurture curiosity, creativity, and cultural exploration through exhibitions, arts education, lifelong learning, music, and events. Connecting young people with art and artists is a crucial part of our mission and our future. Weekly school visits, robust summer offerings, and programming geared toward multi-generational learning has allowed us to move the needle in arts education and serve more young people this year than any other. We continue to refine our team to ensure we provide an outstanding year-round guest experience. We hired our first Director of Partnerships and Sales, Suchira Palit and brought on a Director of Music, Adam Berndt who will continue to diversify our programming and surprise you with new musical offerings. Two new chefs add to the culinary experience at the Center, Nicholas Caplice and Marc Sievers, who will tantalize your taste buds. In 2023 we presented 28 exhibitions ranging from Kinetic, where the galleries were in motion, to the thought-provoking exhibition Battle for the Soul of the Planet by C.A. Stigliano. We also curated two renowned group shows by the Pastel Painters of Cape Cod and Innovations by the International Society of Experimental Artists. 4

Our devoted board of trustees and the passionate Cultural Center team are thrilled to Be a pART of this journey – and we invite you to Be a pART. pART Make a contribution today to sustain and enhance the programs you cherish, including year-round live music, thought-provoking exhibitions, historic preservation of our campus, a shared community space for non-profits across the Cape, and our interactive learning centers both at the Bass River Arts Campus and the HyArts Programming Annex. Be a pART and Support Programming Today! Just $10 a month funds a week of summer camp for budding artists. $20 a month ensures the guarantee needed to bring in a rock-star cellist. $35 a month provides a writing scholarship in partnership with Kwame Alexander. $50 a month secures an annual gallery space for Cape Cod schools. $150 a month sponsors a three-month live-in artist in residence, infusing Cape Cod with fresh talent and contemporary creativity. Be a pART of the tapestry of culture, creativity, and community at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. Sincerely,

Molly Demeulenaere Executive Director, Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Learning.

There is a great deal of educational program expansion at the Cultural Center, and a breaking of new ground at our HyArts Programming Annex. Our ribbon-cutting on October 3, attended by a cohort of the Cape’s legislative and leadership communities, opens up offerings, accessibility, and partnerships. Programs such as early childhood music, movement, values-focused literacy, and nature and art workshops will begin this winter. We welcome our Learning Coordinator, Stephanie King, a botanical & seaweed collage artist and former Montessori educator. The glass studio will be up and running soon with new equipment, beautiful glass selections, and a variety of flame-working workshops. Keep an eye open for new programming at HyArts. 6

At our Bass River Arts Campus, our ceramic offerings have continued to be popular and have grown with two new wheels and two new ceramic instructors. We are excited to have additional offerings in clay! Our cooking classes and dinners, also popular, provide a range of culinary experiences from Mediterranean fare to gourmet French cuisine to a workshop on craft cocktails. Nicholas Caplice, one of our newest chefs, enjoys cooking seasonal and indigenous meals. Kwame Alexander returned this Fall, after publishing his new memoir, Why Fathers Cry at Night: A Memoir in Love Poems, Letters, Recipes, and Remembrances, and led an incredible four-day Memoir Workshop for 18 writers from 13 states and Bermuda. The International Society of Experimental Artists held their annual exhibition and learning symposium here, attended by 65 artist members from around the country. Their spirit of innovation across diverse mediums was an inspiration! We traveled with 16 on our first Art Trek Adventure, embarking on a cultural and art immersion through the highlands of Scotland, while hiking, sketching, and indulging in delicious cuisine. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And the best part? France 2024 is the next destination! Whether your interest is cold wax painting, soapstone carving, French or Italian conversation, figure drawing, plein air painting or playing with gouache, there is something here for you at the Center. Come and explore how creativity feels to you.

Music & Events.

In the past two years, the Cultural Center has witnessed a remarkable expansion of its musical talent. The 2024 season promises to be even more exciting, with a diverse range of exceptional musicians scheduled to perform. American singersongwriter Kate Taylor, the younger sister of James Taylor, is set to return in April. On May 5, the Kruger Brothers will be making their Cultural Center debut. Known for their phenomenal discipline and creativity, the Kruger Brothers have a unique ability to infuse classical music into folk music, resulting in a sound that has made them a fixture in the world of acoustic music. In May, sound designer and musician Skooby Laposky will be bringing the campus to life with an installation and performance of biometric music. In alignment with all of the Center’s galleries filled with visual art that focuses on the delicate world around us, the performance will turn the everyday biological processes of trees into ethereal songs, creating a unique sensory experience for the audience. Classical music will fill the Great Hall in 2024, starting with the “Dueling Piano Concert” in January, featuring Ana Glig and James Rosenblum. The concert promises to be a feast for the ears, with the two pianists showcasing their virtuosity and prowess. In addition, solo cellist Samuel DeCaprio will be inspiring new listeners and turning them into ambassadors for classical music. Finally, Kotoko Brass will be performing again in 2024, bringing rhythms into our lives with their fusion of traditional drumming from Central Ghana, the sturdy bass and keyboards of the Caribbean, and the joyous horns of New Orleans. Their performance is a celebration of multiculturalism and a testament to the power of music to unite people from all backgrounds. 8

Rise & Shine Program. We are expanding our Rise & Shine educational programs with funding from foundations, local cultural councils, and individual donors. These programs are in high demand and serve at-risk populations across the Cape. Our group workshops and oneon-one mentoring sessions help individuals suffering from grief, trauma, complex learning challenges, and anxiety. Our licensed mentors and educators are experienced professionals who provide much-needed assistance to these individuals during crucial times in their lives. In addition to that, we offer enjoyable and skill-building programs that include learning mindfulness through a puppet show, forming a drumming circle, experiencing focus through walking a labyrinth, creating sculptural trees in a creative arts class, or making a wooden lighthouse in our Makerspace. These programs have been very successful, and our 2023 partnerships include the Riverview School, Duffy Health, the DY Wave Program, Waypoint Academy, and individuals introduced to the Center through the educators, parents, or corrections departments. With your support, we can continue to provide these programs to those who need them the most. Your donation makes a difference in someone’s life and we urge you to join us in our mission to help those in need.

“All week I so look forward to being here because it’s the only time I’m completely relaxed. It helps me so much.” Riverview Student

HyArts Programming Annex.

At the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, we believe that art and culture have the power to transform lives and enrich communities. For years, our Bass River home has been a hub of creativity, learning, and inspiration. We cherish the unwavering support of our patrons and dedicated supporters who have helped us create this vibrant cultural haven. We are excited to share our vision for the future, one that expands our reach without compromising our commitment to you and our historic Bass River location. Recently, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod partnered with the Town of Barnstable to activate the HyArts campus, comprised of four buildings in the heart of Hyannis. Through this public/private partnership, the HyArts Programming Annex will expand our impact without increasing our overhead and strengthen the Cultural Center for the future. The HyArts Annex is an exciting new chapter in our journey, and it opens up endless possibilities for our organization and community. Here’s why we are excited and believe you should be too.

DIVERSE PROGRAMMING

The Annex allows us to diversify our programs, reaching new audiences in the vibrant Main Street Hyannis area. The Annex will allow us to expand the scope of our offerings, creating a more enriching and inclusive experience for all.

UNIQUE ELEMENTS

The Annex introduces elements not present at the Bass River campus, such as live-work spaces for artists-in-residence and a stateof-the-art glass-working studio. These new features provide exciting opportunities for us to offer programs and experiences that are unique on Cape Cod. 16

"Adding impact to our legacy." COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Art has the power to bring people together, and the Annex will allow us to build new partnerships and strengthen our ties with the entire Cape Cod community. This expansion will enhance our capacity as a cultural bridge, bringing together communities to appreciate and participate in the arts.

SUPPORT AND DONOR BASE

The addition of the Annex will introduce us to a new donor base and individuals and organizations excited by its possibilities.

YOUR CONTINUED ROLE

We want to emphasize that you, our devoted supporters, are the backbone of our success. Your support has been instrumental in our journey so far, and it will remain a critical part of our future. We invite you to embrace the exciting developments at the Annex and remain a vital part of our mosaic of support. The Cultural Center of Cape Cod is more than just a physical location; it’s a community, a network of creative minds, and a shared passion for the arts. We look forward to embarking on this journey with you. Together, we will enhance our legacy, ensuring the Bass River Arts Campus and the HyArts Programming Annex thrive and inspire. 17
