2021/22

For the year ahead, intimate weddings are likely to become a trend of their own. So this year, we’ve taken inspiration from across the British Isles to explore the unique style and heritage that can be found in the places we call home.

The Welsh countryside and its national flower the Daffodil, inspired our beautiful and elegant single-tiered cake, whilst London’s iconic skyline helped us create a sophisticated cake for the contemporary couple. We’ve taken inspiration from the highlands of Scotland to the beaches of Cornwall to present to you the themes and trends that could make this wedding season the most distinctive yet.

We’ve had some tremendous support to compile this year’s Wedding Lookbook.

Woodhill Hall - the most luxurious wedding venue in Northumberland - was an inspiration throughout our photoshoot. Newcastle Newcastle-Upon-Tyne is one of the most iconic cities in Britain.

Famous for its coal-mining heritage and of course, the black and white ‘toon army’, the former industrial powerhouse inspired this bold, contemporary wedding cake.

Manchester The Industrial Revolution shaped the city of Manchester. Its abundant textile mills were described as ‘hives of activity’ and the ‘busy bee’ came to symbolise Manchester.

We’ve taken inspiration from the city to create this stunning, minimalist wedding cake, featuring golden honeycomb detail.

Yorkshire The beautiful and historic county of Yorkshire is famous for its role in the Wars of the Roses. The white rose, now synonymous with the county, represents purity, innocence and youthfulness. It is sometimes referred to as the ‘bridal rose’ because of its association with young and everlasting love.

Cornwall The wild and rugged peninsula of Cornwall is blessed with the longest stretch of coastline in Britain. Indeed, it is the Cornish seaside that has inspired our marine-themed wedding cake for couples whose hearts belong to the sea.
