#INVESTCHESTER

#INVESTCHESTER is an inward investment marketing campaign currently being delivered by Chester BID, the Business Improvement District (BID) for Chester City Centre.

With the recent opening of the first phase of the £72m Northgate Development there has never been a better opportunity to shout about Chester and the range of development opportunities the city has to offer. An investment of this scale in a city the size of Chester demonstrates anything is possible and we are a city that is open for business.“

The focus of the campaign is to engage the property, finance and investment sectors who may not have previously considered a city like Chester.

Carl Added: “Chester has a unique offer that most other cities would struggle to match. With a perfect blend of connectivity, great schools, and lifestyle opportunities on our doorstep, Chester appeals more than ever to those looking to strike the perfect work-life balance.”

With the support of Grosvenor and Cheshire West & Chester Council the campaign aims to capitalise on the recent opening of the Northgate Development and New Chester Market to promote Chester as a city open to investment.

Chester BID CEO Carl Critchlow explained:

“Chester BID represents over 460 city centre businesses so it’s crucial for benefit for our members and the long-term development of the city that we continue to attract new investment.

The campaign has already reached well over 1 million people through a mixture of events, PR, and online marketing. These included a visit from TV property expert Tim Heatley who packed out Chester’s Storyhouse theatre to talk about the creative ways his business has repurposed unloved spaces turned them in to desirable residential development.

Tim Commented: “Following the recent progression of Chester BID’s #INVESTCHESTER campaign, the future is looking bright for the city, they’re doing a great job of highlighting some of the fantastic investment opportunities that will reinvigorate and regenerate parts of the city that are ripe for development. Chester has some incredible collections of both historic and contemporary buildings – making it perfect for repurposing and reimagining. Some of the opportunities Chester BID have highlighted have real scale to them, projects that can help level up Chester, creating a positive social impact lasting generations to come.”

The #INVESTCHESTER campaign has also heard from local stakeholders and influencers who have spoken about what Chester means to them in a series of short interviews branded ‘This is Chester’. Contributors include Sam Dixon, the newly elected MP for Chester,

Richard the personality behind the famous @Sh*tchester twitter account and Louise Stewart, CEO of Chester Race Company.

Ian Macdonald, Digital Channel Manager for Chester BID explained: “The #INVESTCHESTER campaign has grown over the last few months, and we thought what better way to showcase the potential Chester has than to highlight the people who have made Chester the fantastic city it is today.”

Carl added: “We are so proud to have commandeered so many inspiring and influential people into the This Is Chester campaign – it really proves that people are proud of the city and are happy to spread the word about how brilliant it is. What has been great is to hear how well-networked people are in the city, how connected it is in terms of infrastructure and what a great community there is here”
