Haven’t we all been loving this long hot photo sumssummer? I certainly have. I can’t up the look of remember spending so much me in the landscape the garden swinging on my swinging in the hot summer of chair and it has been wonderful. To 2018 keep the hanging baskets watered has Photo supplied by been a bit of a chore with them Zoe Clowes needing twice­a­day soakings but the effort has been worth it and I have thoroughly enjoyed the plants I bought from the Markyate Plant Sale, Herts Garden Centre and Goldrings Nursery in Redbourn.

The summer events I have most enjoyed locally were a trip around the Pop­Up Sunflower Farm at Junc on 9 at which I bought armfuls of sunflowers which filled every conceivable vessel that could work as a vase.

Their next pop­up will be the pumpkins again in October which are a great hit with the children.

The Scarecrow Fes val in Flamstead was another winner and the clever slogans and puns for the words ‘Scare’ and ‘Crow’ that people came up with were amazing. They o en have a topical twist, a children’s cartoon theme or a poli cal jibe. This year the main themes were: commemora ng 100 years since the end of World War I; 70 years for the NHS; Crow­a a bea ng England in the World Cup; Women’s Suffrage e movement – and just one for Brexit this year­ thankfully. Oh, and Love Island and Pegga Pig were there too, along with S ck Man and a few ferocious dragons! I saw only one for the lovable minions this year!

Aubrey Park win two categories at The SME Hertfordshire Business Awards Aubrey Park Hotel in Redbourn le Tewinbury Farm on Thursday 26th July with not one, but two accolades at the SME Her ordshire Business Awards.

Winning both entered categories ‘Community Business of the Year’ and ‘Service Excellence’, one of the judges stated ­ ‘Customer service is embedded into company culture at Aubrey Park’. The work is progressing well at the new Dunstable Centre, with the waterproofing of the pool underway.

Kay of Charisma Hair and Beauty raised £682.30 at her annual Garden Party On Wednesday 11th July, Kay Palfrey held her annual garden party in bright sunshine and raised £682.30 for Keech Hospice Care. There was a lovely variety of sweet and savoury refreshments, including the famous Guernsey Potato Peel Pie. For those wan ng a bit of fizz, Prosecco was served or wine, juice and hot beverages. There was also a massive tombola thanks to many gi dona ons.

“For the first me I had a Nearly New Sales Table which was very successful,” said Kay. Later guests joined in the usual quizzes, garden games and ‘guess the weight of the cake’ contest.

“Thanks to all my family and friends who helped me in so many ways to raise this money on a fun, sunny a ernoon with great company,” said Kay.

The bonds also reveal some unusual names for occupa ons, for example, George Blow of St Albans was a currier (horse groom), William Twaddle of Her ord a slopseller (a seller of ready­made clothing) and Edward Bone of Bushey, a cow leech (a veterinary surgeon). Kensworth School Fête Saturday 23rd June raised £1,500 The Interim head teacher Mrs Gilly Riach got into the spirit of a fun day out by volunteering to be locked in the stocks!

Garden Party held in memory of Paul Brandham on Sunday 4th August raised £421 for The Keech Hospice.

Paul was born and raised in Markyate and his mother Sylvia s ll lives there. It was a lovely day organised by Cele and Bill Mobley. Linda Brandam, Paul's wife commented, “So much hard work went into organising this event and it was very much appreciated; Paul would have been so touched.” Around 30 family members and friends a ended. There was a £5 charge per head and sandwiches, cakes, scones, tea and so drinks were served.

There was also a raffle. In total they have now raised an incredible £3,103.50 in Paul’s memory.

What is the Dog’s Trust? ...

At Dogs Trust we have a mission; we want every dog to lead a happy life, free from the threat from unnecessary destruction. It means that a lot of our work involves caring for dogs at our rehoming centres – dogs that need a second chance in life. But it also means addressing the root causes of problems. Every year we receive thousands of calls from people asking us to take their dogs into our rehoming centres and the biggest single reason they give is because of the dog’s behaviour. So, to address this problem, we’ve created Dogs Trust Dog School.

Dogs Trust Dog School is a national network of experienced trainers providing fun, educational courses for all dog owners based on up-to-date scientific research. New Landlord and Landlady at the Chequers, Caddington The new Chequers is a Village, Dog and Family Friendly pub Photos and words by Sue Mitchell James Young, who was the manager of the Chequers under the previous owners, has now taken the plunge and bought with his wife Kate the lease.

The new landlord and landlady are full of fresh ideas and enthusiasm for this popular village pub and in the four weeks since they signed the contracts, the pub has been packed with locals and passers-by enjoying a pint in the sunshine and lapping-up the excitement of the World Cup and Wimbledon.

James told us, “we are keen to get the regulars back and firmly re-establish the Chequers as a village pub. We have already enjoyed great support from the locals and the pub is very busy again,” “We want it to be a locals’ pub that is dog friendly and family friendly,” added Kate.

When the couple took over, they closed the doors for four days and completely re-painted the pub before replacing the furniture and lights. “Some of the locals helped,” said James, which shows their commitment to what we have done so far.

The previous owners ran it as a bistro pub for Caddington, but we believe Pub Classics are what people want.”

They have kept their existing staff and a qualified chef will be joining the team in September. The menu will include home cooked food, traditional

“We will have a seasonal menu, changing every quarter with additional special food nights such as Fish & Chips, Steak, Curry, Pie, Mexican and Tapas Nights. Our pricing will offer good value for money and this will appeal to the locals,” said Kate. “Quiz nights are popular too,” added James.

Although the pub has had a facelift, there are more plans afoot. They are going to revamp the garden, take away the conifer hedge and update the toilets.

Over £450 raised at Caddington Allotments Open Day

John Dudley, Secretary of the Caddington Allotments said, “We were very pleased with this figure and the monies will go towards paying for the new roof on the allotment hut in Folly Lane which we had installed over the summer. The old roof was leaking badly and damage was being done to the books in the library.” The library is open on two Thursday mornings a month from 11am to 12.30pm and it gets a lot of use now there is no mobile library in the village. People donate books, they can buy others for a nominal charge and the funds go towards the upkeep of the allotments.

I spoke to some of the ‘allotmenteers’ and as I have a plot myself, I was keen to share views on the 2018 season. The general feeling is that it has been too hot and dry for successfully growing fruit and vegetables so little is at its best. Runner beans particularly have suffered a lot and some growers have not had a good crop of carrots and parsnips.

Speaking to Wayne Hadland who was selling his produce to raise funds for the renovation of the allotment hut, he has manged to get great yields despite the hot summer conditions.

The Scarecrow competition has always proved popular and this year’s theme was ‘Holidays’. The winner was decided by members of the public and it went to Anne Meader and Lorraine Law who both look after Plot 50. Their entry was ‘The Great British Seaside Holiday’ and it was a real work of art.

‘Walk with Marie’ The Weekend of the 24th June marked the 1st Anniversary of the sad loss of Matron Marie McGuckin Draper.

Marie, just turned 46, had responsibility across three hospitals in the West Herts Trust.

She lived in Markyate with her husband and three children and lost her life just five weeks a er being diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour. Marie’s mum and dad wanted to mark the occasion by celebra ng her life and her mum, also named Marie, decided to invite family and friends to join her on a ‘Walk with Marie’ across their favourite route which they o en walked with their dogs, Ted and Isla. The plan was for everyone to meet in ‘Peggy’s Field’ and walk the familiar route to Flamstead and back, finishing up at Marie’s parents’ house for tea and cakes.

Around 80 people turned out, with some of the family surprising everyone by turning up a few minutes before the walk, all the way from Glasgow. The big turnout emphasised the respect and love there was for ‘the Matron’.

Feeling Proud of our Local Employer Majes c Trees of Flamstead scoop four awards

By Chris na Glynn Jones On Thursday 28th June, I had the pleasure of a ending the Hor culture Week Business Awards 2018 in London with my colleagues at Majes c Trees. This black­ e event is the most comprehensive gathering of the year for the UK commercial hor culture industry, with companies ranging from landscape construc on to plant produc on, garden retail to arboriculture.

The format of the awards changed this year, and the suspense in the room was palpableas everyone awaited the results. We were delighted when Majes c Trees received Highly Commended recogni on in the category of Wholesale Nursery of the Year, and Business Innova on of the Year (for our new Visitor Advice Centre), but we were most thrilled to receive the pres gious award for Employer of the Year.

What a great achievement and I feel immensely proud of my employer and my colleagues for winning this award. Having joined Majes c Trees in its first year of trading, I’ve been

able to watch the company mature from an entrepreneurial start­up to the well­established business it is today. Throughout, I’ve always known Steve and Janet as owners, to take a genuine interest in the wellbeing of their staff. I’ve also known them to be longstanding advocates of improved standards of employee welfare throughout the hor cultural industry. My colleagues share these values too, which makes Majes c a friendly and suppor ve place to work. It was a real pleasure to see those ethics recognised formally, with the judges ci ng Majes c’s egalitarian management style, company profit share programme, investment in staff development, and strong record for women in leadership as aspects which impressed them.

Winning that award alone would have been enough to make a successful evening but there was in fact, one last unexpected honour to come. At the end of the evening, the award for Most Admired Business Leader went to our very own managing director, Steve McCurdy.

Reasons given by the judges for their choice were Steve’s success in rapidly growing the company, the numerous na onal and interna onal awards the nursery has received, Steve’s commitment to staff welfare and his willingness to give his me to wider industry issues. Well deserved, Mr. McCurdy.

Other Useful Information about CBD

CBD Oil

Is available in a number of different forms, some are better than others: in a Pure Oil Dropper, Capsules, & Vaping Oil. Vaping Oil is the least effective, capsules a close second. This should NOT be confused with Hemp Oil which is quite different, cheaper, and contains virtually NO CBD Pure Oil Dropper is the most effective delivery method.

Demystifying Car Air-Conditioning We have been enjoying a very hot British Summer this year and many of us have sought relief from our car air-conditioning systems to help us feel a little more comfortable; and with September promising to continue with above average temperatures, it looks likely that we will be using our air-conditioning systems more than in the average British summer.

As we have put so much pressure on our air-con for three to four months, there is a chance that it could breakdown before the autumn cool.

We don’t necessarily notice if it is not working efficiently, but when it breaks completely we seek the help of an expert.

The majority of vehicles are fitted with airconditioning (or climate control) systems. Like other components in your car these need regular attention to ensure they are working efficiently.

Do I have to get my Air-Conditioning Serviced?

Air-conditioning, like the rest of your car, is mechanical and needs looking after. It is not something that is covered in the regular service, so it can get overlooked.

The majority of manufacturers recommend an air-con service every 1-2 years as it is important for your health and without regular servicing, 10% efficiency is lost every year. In addition, without a service, you make the system work harder, which will in turn use more fuel!

It’s also helps you maintain a stable body temperature, allowing you to concentrate better on the road ahead.

The gas inside is clear and odourless and hard to see when it is leaking. There are many things that can cause it to leak. Among these are stones which can enter through the condenser which sits in front of the radiator on most vehicles.

Can I just have a re-gas/recharge?

Yes, it is recommended that you should recharge your air-conditioning system every 1-2 years with gas and lubricant, in order to keep it running efficiently. However, it is a complex system, so often re-gassing isn’t the only reason it’s fails., so just recharging the system may leave you needing another re-gas or recharge. As with all things, regular maintenance is cheaper than fixing a repair at a later date. Compare prices before you take the risk. Be wary if a garage is only offering a re-gas. have the capability to identify if there is a fault in the system, you will keep paying for re-gassing without the fault being identified or repaired. A service is often a more economical choice.

Can I regas my air-con system myself?

You can purchase air-con gas kits if you want to attempt the job yourself, but we wouldn’t advise it.

Apart from potentially injuring yourself, it is almost as expensive to purchase the kit as it is having the system properly serviced by a professional.

It is impossible to know how much gas is currently in the system or how much to add. A specialist will remove old gas, moisture or debris before putting the new refrigerant in to prevent any problems in the future.

They will also have the ability to check for leaks and any other problems with the air-con system. There are also safety factors to be considered too: specialists are trained with good reason!

Should I use the air-con in the winter?

Yes! Air-con acts as a dehumidifier, which will keep the interior of the vehicle dry. With less moisture in the vehicle, it will vastly reduce the amount of misting and ice forming on the inside of the glass on cold mornings.

Using the system all year round will help keep the system seals lubricated and in good condition, which will minimise the amount of refrigerant leakage.

The RAC recommend you consider it as an essential part of car maintenance that could directly save you money on repair work further down the line.

If air-con is not used for long periods, it can seize up, and circulation suffers. The air-con is filled with a refrigerant and some oil. It is always advised to keep liquid flowing and components of the system lubricated.

Why do I get a pool of water under my car?

It is a frequent cause of concern in the summer months, and usually it is water so no need to panic. However, if it smells or has colour, it’s time to contact your garage!

In the heat, your air-con compressor works twice as hard and the unit itself can freeze over as it sucks the moisture out of the car. When the car is stationary, the ice starts to melt dripping into a puddle under the car.

How long does it take to service my Air-Con System?

It’s an interesting question as recently, on social media, we have seen consumers bragging that a fast fit centre has completed it in 10-15 minutes!

In short, there is no rushing the machine! It cannot remove and force the gas in any quicker… and Please men�on

It should take between 1-1.5 hours to complete an AirCon Service correctly.

What is the new Air-Con gas?

Newer cars use Hydrofluoro Olefin gas (1234yf), which is 98% less climate damaging than its predecessor and is also described as having a low global warming potential (GWP).

There are few independent garages with the correct equipment for this as the gas is currently so expensive and so is less economical for smaller independent garages to invest in. However, uniquely in the area, Redbourn Auto Solutions do have this capability.

Have prices for Air-Con Services increased?

The gas has substantially increased in price and air-con servicing is gradually increasing in line with this.

The EU is keen on reducing the need for harmful gasses to be used (hydrofluorocarbons). HFCs are used in the majority of cars, so it is unsurprising the EU are clamping down on Chinese imports of refrigerant and at the same time reducing availability in a phased approach. 2017 saw a 17% reduction in availability and between 2018-2020, a further planned reduction of 50%’. From 2030, HFCs will no longer be available. So, unless the EU relax their expectations, cost will continue to increase as demand outstrips supply.

New cars no longer use the old gas and so are not subjected to the same restrictions as their predecessors.

Currently this gas is expensive, but as demand increases, it is hoped that the cost of this air-con service will also fall.

• Changing filters and cleaning pipes to ensure they are not clogged with pollen or bacterial build-up which may create unpleasant odours.

•

Recharging the refrigerant to ensure that your engine isn’t under additional strain and thus using more fuel than is necessary. A system that has not been recharged in 2 years will dramatically reduce its efficiency. This should be done to manufacturer’s commended levels.

• Regassing the system and adding fresh lubricants.

• Checking the system to ensure its efficiency.

Beware! Many garages offer this service, but do not have the knowledge or the capability to carry out any repairs. This includes fast fit and mobile style garages.

Is there anything else I can do to ensure my Air-Con is running efficiently?

Run your air-conditioning at least once a week throughout the year. It is a misconception that it is not fuel efficient to do this. It is actually more costly to have to put it right!

Although motorists mostly use their Air-Con system more in the summer, it is also important in the winter.

It creates dry warm air rather than the humid air from outside. This demists your car windscreen quicker!

Continue to chill out in the late summer/early autumn and ensure your Air-Con is efficient. If in doubt, don’t hesitate to ask your local garage or give us a call.

Where do I go?

You have to be licenced to refill air-conditioning because it is a gas, so make sure your chosen garage/technician has the licence.

There are many reputable garages offering an Air-Con Service which will involve: • A full visual inspection; temperature and leaks are checked. This will include the ecovery of refrigerant, evacuation of air and moisture from the system.

• Checking the compression of the gas – this is the first check to ensure you are receiving aximum efficiency.

• Running dye through the system, so that identifying any leaks becomes more obvious.

These events are organised by the Bowls Club in coopera on with the management of Everyone Ac ve and the Redbourn Playing Fields Trust. Jez Cronshaw, the Club Coach, devised a format of the sport appropriate for these occasions and the Trust were able to use an Intergenera onal Fund grant from St Albans District Council for the purchase of smaller bowls for younger players.

The Bowls Club hopes that par cipants enjoy the experience and will want to take up the sport, if not now, then at some me in the future. The Club will be happy to consider arranging similar sessions for other groups of youngsters.

At the other end of the age spectrum, the Bowls Club will be one of the many organisa ons taking part in the Redbourn Senior Forum at the Parish Centre on 17th September 10.00am to 2.00pm.

“Members will be on hand to tell visitors about the Club and the a rac ons of the sport for senior ci zens. New members, experienced or otherwise, will always be welcome. Sunower Pop­Up Farm Farmer Ian Piggo has come up with a new pop­ up farm this summer to follow the very successful pumpkin pop­up of last autumn at his farm o junc on 9 of the M1.

The team from MiMagazine, which included my 3­year­old granddaughter, did the sunower trail and picked a healthy bunch for £10 which (together with a few strands of lavender and three heads of pink hydrangeas from our own garden) made a stunning arrangement for the window sill, in my favourite narrow but wide­necked Norwegian Eduard Munch vase.

The ďŹ elds looked strangely familiar but not to a UK landscape. The vast yellowness of dried out crops and grass looked more like the Australian outback than Redbourn.

Guess who visited the Sunower Farm? It was a surprise to see Carol the weather girl from Breakfast TV, presen ng from the Sunower Field on 14th August.

Do you know where our local Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) are located?

Defibrillators are being installed in many loca ons across our villages. But do you know where they are?

Do you know why they are being installed? What they can be used for? How to use them and when?

I was asking myself these ques ons which led me to write this ar cle.

I had a personal experience recently where my husband had a heart a ack and it scared me to think how ill­equipped I was to deal with the situa on. Fortunately, the first responder paramedic arrived within ten minutes but if my husband had had a cardiac arrest, ten minutes would have been too long to wait.

I am pleased to say that he was treated successfully and has recovered well but had he collapsed with a cardiac arrest, Cardiopulmonary Resuscita on (CPR) or preferably, access to a defibrillator would have been essen al to give him a chance of survival.

Where are the defibrillators located?

If you go on line to find the loca on of PADs, you will note that at present there is no single comprehensive list. The different manufacturers only list the loca on of their own brand and there is no requirement by law to register your defibrillator with The Ambulance Service. But this is changing.

Pioneering partnership between NHS, BHF and Microso will result in the produc on of a comprehensive catalogue of registered PADs. The good news is that the Bri sh Heart Founda on, The NHS and Microso have entered a new partnership to map all of the UK’s defibrillators. The ini a ve is in response to shocking figures that show public access defibrillators are used in less than 3 per cent of out­ of­hospital cardiac arrests. One of the biggest barriers to their use is

because people, bystanders or members of the ambulance service, do not know where they are located, despite tens of thousands of defibrillators being prominently placed in workplaces, train sta ons, leisure centres and public places. The BHF says this is leading to a needless loss of lives, as 999 call handlers are unable to direct bystanders to their nearest defibrillator when someone suffers a cardiac arrest. Combining their exper se, the BHF, NHS England, NHS Scotland and Microso solu ons provider New Signature will now work together over the next 12 months to develop a comprehensive network of defibrillators across the UK which can be used by ambulance services.

There are over 30,000 out­of­hospital cardiac arrests every year in the UK, but less than 1 in 10 people survive. In countries where the public are be er equipped to recognise and deal with cardiac arrests, survival rates are up to three mes higher.

The network will be piloted by West Midlands Ambulance Service and the Sco sh Ambulance Service, before being rolled out across the UK.

St Michael’s church in St Albans will be commemorating the centenary of the end of the World War 1 events over the weekend of 7th to 9th September to raise money for both the church and The Royal British Legion.

The programme of events is: • An evening of World War 1 poetry, prose and music (7th September) • An Exhibition covering the History of The Great War (8th & 9th September) • A Flower Festival (8th & 9th September) • A ‘traditional-style’ church fete (Saturday, 8th September only) During her research, archivist and local historian, Ann Dean, discovered the names of five local men whose names were not listed on the current memorial in St Michael’s. Permission was granted to produce a plaque for these men and local craftsman, Geoff Warwick, along with an expert calligrapher, John Sarnham have been commissioned to create the plaque. The dedication of this plaque, by Bishop Stephen Venner, will take place at the 9.30am Communion Service on 9th September.

• There is no legal responsibility for defibrillator owners to have their device listed with the Ambulance Service. We recommend you store the postcode of the nearest Public Access Defibrillator cabinet on your phone or wallet.

Do you have a defibrillator to register?

The na onal defibrillator network will launch in spring 2019 when guardians will be able to register their defibrillator onto the network through their local ambulance service. Some ambulance services are currently able to accept direct registra ons so if you are looking to register your defibrillator now, visit the map of ambulance services on the AACE website where there are links to contact your local service.

Are they easy to use?

Kelly Field of Redbourn said, “They are quite easy to use now. They give you instruc ons as you are using them and will only ‘shock’ if the pa ent is in the middle of ventricular fibrilla on.”

If someone’s heart stops, would you use Cardiopulmonary Resuscita on (CPR) as well as a Defibrillator?

The American Heart Associa on recommends, when someone’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped, that everyone — untrained bystanders and medical personnel alike — begin CPR with chest compressions. Do this first, whilst you are wai ng for the PAD machine.

It's far be er to do something than to do nothing at all if you're fearful that your knowledge or abili es aren't 100 percent complete.

Remember, the difference between

doing something and doing nothing could be someone's life.

• Untrained. If you're not trained in CPR, then provide hands­only CPR. That means uninterrupted chest compressions of 100 to 120 a minute un l paramedics arrive.

You don't need to try rescue breathing.

• Trained and ready to go. If you're well­trained and confident in your ability, check to see if there is a pulse and breathing. If there is no breathing or a pulse within 10 seconds, begin chest compressions. Start CPR with 30 chest compressions before giving two rescue breaths.

• Trained but rusty. If you've previously received CPR training but you're not confident in your abili es, then just do chest compressions at a rate of 100 to 120 a minute. The above advice applies to adults, children and infants needing CPR, but not newborns (infants up to 4 weeks old).

In this latest ar cle, Donna Payne ­ senior lawyer at Sherrards ­ looks at the importance of having a valid WILL in place when you die.

Rik Mayall, comedian and actor, did not have a valid Will in place when he died in June 2014. He died “intestate”, meaning his £1.2 million estate may have to pay inheritance tax which could have been avoided if the right Will had been in place. Under the intestacy law, as a married parent who died without a Will, a significant part of Rik’s estate would go straight to his children triggering a poten al tax liability.

The intestacy rules are set by law and can be summarised as follows:­ • Married/civil partner with no children. If you die without a Will everything goes to the spouse or civil partner • Married/civil partner with children, and you die without a Will, assets up to £250,000 and personal possessions (not land) go to the spouse or civil partner. Assets above that limit are split 50/50 between the spouse and the children.

• Unmarried, living with someone, with or without children. If you die without a Will, the cohabitee receives nothing. Where there are children and/or grandchildren, they get everything. If there are no children, the deceased's assets go to their siblings and parents.

Where there are no children or other dependants, no parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, nephews, nieces or aunts and uncles (blood rela ves not rela ves by marriage), the whole estate goes to the Crown.

To have a share in the estate, the cohabitant would have to make a formal claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act unless all other poten al beneficiaries were over 18 and agreed that some assets passed to the co­habitant.

What does all this mean for inheritance tax: One of the key inheritance tax perks is that spouses/civil partners can bequeath any amount to each other tax free. However, giving assets to To adver se call 01582 965760

children will trigger an inheritance tax bill if the gi exceeds the "nil rate band" or threshold of £325,000 per person plus an addi onal sum (currently £125,000 as long as the whole estate is not worth more than £2.2Million) in rela on to homes passed to direct descendants. If everything passes to a spouse/civil partner, then on their death, the first spouse/partner’s tax free threshold can be added to their own ­ thus doubling what can pass before tax.

Everything that passes down above the tax free allowances is taxed at 40% of that value.

Avoiding the intestacy rules, is not the only reason it is a good idea to make a Will. With a Will: • You leave clear instruc ons about how your estate is to be distributed.

• You choose your own executors – the people who manage the estate.

• You appoint guardians to look a er your children if they are under 18, un l they come of age. You can also make financial arrangements for their benefit.

• You can make specific gi s to friends or family.

These can range from items of jewellery to sums of cash.

• If you have remarried, you can ensure any children from your first marriage get a share of your estate.

• You to are able to make gi s to chari es.

• You may avoid family disputes.

And just in case you were wondering, making a will does not bring forward the date of your death!

You can now donate items at any of our Household Waste Recycling Centres (tidy tip) in Ampthill, Biggleswade and Leighton Buzzard, to be sold in the reuse shop at Thorn Turn tidy tip.

All items must be in good condition and safe to use.
