The study of how effectively a society can meet its human and material needs by the analysis of resources. It provides a logical and ordered method for looking at various problems a society has.

Earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics demonstrates that you are prepared for real-life application of economic analysis and theories. The curriculum provides you with an understanding of economic structure and operation, along with practical skills that can be applied at any organization.

There are over ten dedicated student organizations that are active in the College of Business including: The Accounting Association, American Marketing Association, Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, the Financial Management Association, Sport Management Club and Viking’s Real Estate Club.

Economics students are encouraged to participate in internships. Economics faculty co-host the Northeast Ohio Economics Workshop Program with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. The NEO Economics Workshop program provides economists in Northeast Ohio with an opportunity to present their research and foster ties between area researchers who may have similar interests. This experience gives students an opportunity to network with industry leaders and is a rich pipeline of guest speakers in classes.
