Military Retirees Activities Office holds council meeting

The Military Retiree Activities office will hold a council meeting the second Thursday of each month at 2:30 p.m. in Building 350, Room 1206 at Peterson Air Force Base. The guest speaker for Thursday is Victor Villarreal to provide an overview of the new military retirement system. For more information, call Randall Barrett at 556-7153.

Dietician at Schriever HAWC

A registered dietician is available at the Schriever Health and Wellness Center Thursday afternoons. She has three appointments available per week to discuss nutritional concerns and can see most TriCare beneficiaries. The dietician will be in Building 500 across from the Security Forces Squadron. Nestled in a rural English farm village, far from the mountains of Colorado, is a 23rd Space Operations Squadron detachment which serves as a testament to the 50th Space Wing’s global reach. The only Schriever Geographically Separated Unit and Air Force Satellite

Military members may come across various challenges in life; however, it doesn’t mean they have to face them alone. Maintaining and strengthening individual spirituality is one of the four pillars of Comprehensive Airman Fitness and is also a primary component for one’s overall well-being. Regardless of one’s religious background and beliefs, the 50th Space Wing Chaplain’s Office provides a number of services to keep Airmen spiritually resilient and fit to fight. They provide support to all, unit visitations and confidential counseling. “I would say the spiritual pillar is the most forgotten out of the four pillars, which are physical, social, mental and spiritual,” said Chaplain (Capt.) Portmann Werner, 50th Space Wing chaplain. “This is why I feel like our presence is so important. According to the Air Force Instruction, the spiritual pillar consists of sense of purpose in life, pride in what you do and the Air Force core values.
