Col. Moore leaves 21st SW with laughs

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — Col. Todd Moore, 21st Space Wing commander, hands out gifts to his wife and three children at his going-away ceremony, June 28, 2019 at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. Moore thanked his family for being supportive during his time here at the wing. Moore and his family will be staying in Colorado Springs for his next assignment with the Space Security & Defense Program. PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — Col. The gift was a dodgeball replicated as “Wilson” from the movie “Castaway”. The ball had Moore’s former and current command chiefs to help him get through lonely times during his new job with the Space Security & Defense Program.

People across the nation will gather to celebrate the holiday and enjoy summer. Just because it’s a holiday doesn’t mean basic safety concerns vanish. Col. Todd Moore, 21st Space Wing commander, emphasizes the importance of avoiding the “five Ds” this summer: dumb, difficult, different, distracted and drunk. “While anti-terrorism and force protection efforts have impacted terrorist planning, the capability to execute deliberate and complex attacks against U.S. service members still

exist,” said Timothy Omdal, 21st Security Forces Squadron deputy director. “Small scale operations and lone actor scenarios still remain the most viable options targeting special events such as Independence Day.” Omdal noted that the greatest threat to Airmen and other DoD personnel on and around Independence Day is not terrorism, but random or opportunistic crimes: vehicle break-ins, pickpockets, robbery, assaults, and drunk and disorderly conduct.
