A Letter From Our Director...

Dear Colegio San José family and friends,

As we celebrate another milestone in our history as a Catholic and Marianist institution, we have to be thankful for all the graces that we have received from our Lord. This year, 2023, we celebrated 85 years since the first Marianist community was established in Río Piedras and St. Augustine Military Academy’s name was changed to Colegio San José. In 2020 we had celebrated the 100th anniversary since the first academic institution had been established in this “loma de los vientos” in Río Piedras.

As we thank God for the past, we are very thankful for all that has been achieved during this immediate school year, 2022-23. We are thankful to all the members of our school community who excelled in the different areas of our school, always faithful to our mission of being a Catholic and Marianist School of excellence, who prepares young men to attend college and develops Christian leaders who are capable, responsible and committed to serving God and our country.

Aware of our responsibility, we continue working with our Strategic Plan and have developed Project 85 to renovate physically our main building, gym and auditorium. With the support of the funds received from the Federal Government and other sources of income, we will also make an eco-friendlier school and transform our facilities to use renewable energy as our main source of energy. Rendering of the south façade of the Colegio is displayed in the cover of this annual report. We hope to complete it during the next two years.

I would like to thank our benefactors, the PTSA, the Alumni and our present parents and students for the support of this mission of the Society of Mary in Puerto Rico.
