Corpsmember of the Year On October 15, 2015, at the annual Corpsmember Awards Banquet, Shaini Phelps was named Corpsmember of the Year. Shaini has been a Crew Leader in the Department of Recycling for two years. Shaini is an outstanding Corpsmember who represents the values and traditions of the Sequoia Community Corps (SCC). Shaini has represented us in Sacramento, during certification review, and at local Corps events.

Shaini has excellent attendance and work ethics and also trains fellow Corpsmembers. Shaini embodies our Code of Conduct, takes advantage of all learning opportunities, and has been a positive influence in this program. Shaini's name has been submitted for the National Corpsmember of the Year which will be awarded in February 2016 by the Corps Network.
The other nominees were Carolina Trujillo from Weatherization, Michael Sayler from Urban Forestry, Yurico Espindola from Household Tanks and Bouapha Louangprasert from YouthBuild.
Corpsmember Recruitment Are you a Tulare or Kings County youth between the age of 18 and 24? The Sequoia Community Corps is recruiting! Join the Corps and get paid to learn new skills. You can also obtain your High School Diploma through a customized educational experience. Students alternate one week in school and one week receiving paid training. Corpsmembers can gain real world experience and training in construction, recycling, landscaping and leadership training. Orientations are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 9:00 am at the CSET this issue main office, which is located at 312 NW 3rd Ave., Visalia. John Muir Charter School
