Video Contest Scholarship Winners Announced Students

Receive Scholarships in Three States

The Districts Make the Difference annual student video contest paid off for students in California, New York, and Florida this year. Just in time for the end of the school year, these students captured scholarships for themselves and their teachers.

U.S. high school students across the country were challenged to learn about special districts, either broadly or a specific district in their community, then create a 60-second video explaining what they’d learned. The contest received videos from 22 states with a variety of themes and videography techniques. The videos included interviews of district staff, green screen technology, original artwork and cartoons, songs, and movie parodies. Ten finalists were selected by a panel of special district professionals who enjoyed all the creative submissions and ultimately settled on the top ten based on accuracy of information, creativity and originality, and entertainment and video quality.
