2026 Impact Report - Crosby Scholars (Forsyth)

Every student deserves a path to their future.

2026 IMPACT REPORT Serving 10,000 students in 41 Forsyth County Middle and High Schools! Over 17,000 students have graduated from our program since 1993!

I’m so excited to be celebrating 30 years at the helm of the Crosby Scholars Program. I joined the team the first year that Crosby Scholars Program was available in every middle and high school in the county, and we’ve not looked back. Through the years, we’ve had many new ideas, new technology, change in testing and admissions requirements, financial aid revisions, scholarship opportunities and so much more, but Crosby has remained relevant through it all. Seeing alumni bring their students to join Crosby Scholars because the program meant so much to them continues to bring me joy. I am proud to have alumni who are now board members, team members, volunteers and donors.

It is an honor to serve as Board Chair after many years of service to this organization. As I reflect on our 33-year history, I am inspired by how far we have come, how much we have evolved, and the countless lives we have touched along the way. Today, we have the privilege of serving more than 10,000 students each year - a powerful testament to the enduring impact of our mission and the commitment of everyone who has helped build this organization.

I thank our donors, our team members, our board, volunteers, and the many community partners for trusting us to help students pursue their college and career aspirations. I thank our students and parents who invite us to share in their journey from middle school to high school and to college and career. It continues to be a remarkable journey because our work does not lead students to a destination, it opens the door to future possibilities.

I feel a sense of positive energy as we look ahead. Our history gives us a strong foundation, but our greatest opportunities are still in front of us. I am excited about what the future holds and the possibilities before us to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and create meaningful opportunities for more students. This next chapter is ours to shape together, and look forward to all that we will accomplish for the students and communities we serve.

Alumni Spotlight Our 17,000 Crosby Scholars alumni are living proof of the lasting power of the Crosby journey. Each began their journey with us sometime between 6th through 10th grade, and today they are making an impact building careers, leading organizations, serving their communities, and making a difference in countless ways. Many have

come full circle, returning to Crosby as staff members, Board members, volunteers, and supporters. Others are carrying the Crosby spirit forward in the communities where they live and work. Their accomplishments—and their commitment to giving back—represent a powerful and growing legacy that reaches far into the future.

. Attorney at Kilpatrick . Current Crosby Scholars Board Vice Chair As a student, Crosby Scholars gave me the confidence to believe in my academic dreams and see college as something that was truly within reach. Crosby helped my family and I navigate the often overwhelming world of college applications, financial aid, and tuition. Now, as a staff member, I am proud to give that same support to students as they plan for life after high school. Knowing I can help make their journey a little less stressful and remind them that they always have someone in their corner cheering them on makes this work incredibly meaningful to me.

Crosby has had a profound impact on my educational trajectory and has been instrumental to my academic and professional success. As a first-generation college applicant who was not originally college-bound, Crosby gave me the confidence, guidance, and tools to navigate the college admissions process and succeed in higher education. That foundation allowed me to excel in college, pursue graduate school, and ultimately obtain multiple degrees. Crosby truly lives up to its motto, “For College, For Life.” Beyond its academic impact, I have also had the privilege of working for Crosby Rowan after college and serving on Crosby’s Board shortly thereafter. Through this network, I received guidance that helped shape my professional path, and I hope to give back by supporting current and future Crosby scholars.

Crosby Scholars provided the intellectual capital, financial support, and external motivation that made college not just possible but attainable. As a first-generation college graduate, Crosby Scholars gave me the tools, confidence, and exposure to college culture I needed. I credit my academic journey and career growth to the foundational skills and relationships I developed as a Crosby Scholar. This organization has played a key role in shaping my leadership philosophy and shifting my social mobility.

Being a Crosby Scholar helped me recognize the importance of education, community involvement, and using my opportunities to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Those values have shaped my vision for R.E.G.R.O.W. (Restoring Edible Gardens, Reclaiming Our Wellness), a youthled initiative working to establish school gardens and improve access to fresh, culturally relevant produce in underserved communities. The support and opportunities I received as a Crosby Scholar helped me turn this vision into reality and create something that can have a lasting impact beyond our team. I hope donors know that their investment extends far beyond an individual student, it empowers young people to become leaders who give back to their communities and create meaningful change.
