CSArts-SGV Season Finale 2025 Program

Page 1

A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPALS

Dear Friends and Families,

We are thrilled to welcome you to Season Finale 2025, hosted by the California School of the Arts – San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) Foundation! We have been so inspired by the resilience and dedication our incredible students and faculty have demonstrated this year. When faced with the devastation of the Los Angeles wildfires, our students not only looked out for one another, but also banded together to help the greater community. We are very proud of the generosity, compassion, and collaboration displayed by our CSArts-SGV family, more so than we ever could be of any award or accomplishment.

That said, CSArts-SGV has had an accomplished year in spite of these circumstances. In the 20242025 school year, we welcomed 6th grade students to our Middle School program for the very first time! Additionally, Duarte Unified School District (DUSD) renewed our charter at the highest confidence level, allowing us to continue our partnership in providing award-winning arts and academic curriculum for another seven years. We were also awarded an Exemplary School designation by Arts Schools Network, and our counseling team earned the prestigious Recognized ASCA Model Program designation by the American School Counselor Association, making CSArts-SGV the only charter high school in California to hold this title.

Sincerely,

These honors are a reflection of the tremendous efforts of CSArts-SGV’s students, faculty, and staff, as well as the encouragement we have received from our entire school community. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to our 2024-2025 Season Sponsors, Edison International and Max H. Gluck Foundation, as well as to our Board of Trustees, Foundation Board of Directors, President’s Circle, Encore, and Family Action Network. Your commitment to helping shape the lives of our students is commendable. We would also like to express our appreciation to DUSD, the DUSD School Board, and the City of Duarte Council, whose partnership is fundamental to the mission of CSArts-SGV.

Last, but certainly not least, we would like to acknowledge our parents, alumni, administrators, faculty and staff, members of the local community, and most importantly, our students. Their commitment to their craft and community, even in uncertain times, has been nothing short of extraordinary. They deserve to be celebrated, and that’s exactly what we are here to do tonight!

Thank you so much for joining us. Now, let’s enjoy a phenomenal lineup of performances and presentations from each of our arts conservatories!

WE PROVIDE AN UNPARALLELED ARTS AND ACADEMIC EDUCATION IN A CREATIVE, CHALLENGING, AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT TO A DIVERSE GROUP OF STUDENTS WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE ARTS, PREPARING THEM TO REACH THEIR HIGHEST POTENTIAL.

ACADEMICS +

Established in 2017, California School of the Arts – San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) offers a dynamic school culture that enables students to flourish as artists and scholars. The school currently serves a diverse student body of approximately 1,200 students in grades 6-12. Students in grades 6-8 receive their academic instruction through the Duarte Unified School District (DUSD) and their arts classes through the CSArts-SGV conservatory program. Beginning in grade 9, students attend classes full-time on the CSArts-SGV campus.

In addition to offering a challenging college-preparatory academic program that produces high-achieving, motivated scholars, CSArts-SGV provides aspiring young artists with the opportunity to refine their skills and flourish in one of 11 arts conservatories. Each year, students participate in more than 60 concerts, recitals, staged performances, and exhibitions at a variety of venues, providing students with the unique experience of entertaining and inspiring hundreds of audience members.

CSArts-SGV is a donation-dependent public charter school; no student is offered or denied admission based on financial capacity. The school’s rigorous academic education coupled with advanced arts training impacts many students, molding creative thinkers, leaders, artists, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
