Inside Matters Today marks our dedicated ‘Inside Matters’ fixture, through which Crystal Palace and the Premier League are raising awareness of mental health and encouraging fans to check in on the wellbeing of others. ‘Inside Matters’ messaging will be visible at Premier League fixtures throughout this weekend (10th-11th May), ahead of UK Mental Health Awareness Week (12th-18th May). The League and its clubs will use this time to promote constructive conversations around mental health and wellbeing, while also shining a light on the community work being delivered in this space, and the support available to fans. We know that football helps connect people, and we want to remind everyone that support is always within reach, and that conversations and community can make a real difference. Premier League research shows that the game plays a powerful role in bringing people together and encouraging open dialogue. Fans are being invited to use their shared
passion for the game as a way to reach out to other supporters, as well as friends and family, and contribute positively to mental wellbeing.
The Mental Health Foundation Representatives from the Mental Health Foundation will be in the Fanzone at today’s fixture, speaking to supporters about mental health, and encouraging them to share ideas on how to look after their mental wellbeing. This is part of the “Take Action” theme for Mental Health Awareness Week this year, which reinforces the message that small actions can help us feel hopeful and less powerless. And while our individual actions matter, when we come together, we are even more powerful. In addition, during Mental Health Awareness week, the club are offering a financial wellbeing clinic to all staff as part of its wider-reaching wellbeing strategy.
