Welcome to the 2026 Crystal Palace Beer Festival! This has been our traditional end of season party ever since CPFC2010 bought the club, 16 years ago, and it’s always been a great afternoon of drinking quality beers at Selhurst Park with fellow Palace fans. In the past we’ve celebrated staying up, going up and staying up again.
Last year I thought that we might have raised the bar too high, as nothing could come close to celebrating the FA Cup could it? But this season kicked off with victory over Liverpool in The Community Shield at Wembley and is going to end with a trip to Leipzig and a European Final. I’ve been following the Palace since the 1960s and have watched us play in the old Third Division. I’ve seen us lose at places like Shrewsbury, Scunthorpe and Southend, so to be where we are now - with the possibility of winning three major trophies in the space of 12 months - is truly incredible. What a time to be a Palace fan!
Today we can celebrate with a fantastic choice of ales, lagers, milds, blonds, pales, bitters and stouts. As our motto is ‘South London and Proud’ I would like to emphasise that we are particularly pleased today to have assembled a brilliant selection of beers from some fine South London breweries – many of which have only recently started up, so you may not have tasted them before.
From near the CPFC Training Ground, we have a selection of fascinating keg beers from Br3wery in Beckenham with a host of American hops and even a Norwegian yeast.
From the famous “Bermondsey Beer Mile” we have Bianca Road, Hiver and Mash Paddle breweries represented today – all of which are new to me.
From Camberwell we have Orbit who offer a West Coast IPA, two Germanstyle Lagers and the most bizarre sounding beer of the festival “Tzatziki Sour” which is described as an “award-winning Berliner Weisse-influenced kettle sour emulating the flavours of the classic Greek yoghurt dip”. Certainly unusual, but refreshing nonetheless.
South-West London is represented by Sambrooks of Wandsworth (who brew in the old Youngs Brewery), Wimbledon (whose head brewer was previously

the brewer at Youngs), Youngs themselves and Drop Project from Mitcham whose owner, I am told, is a Palace Fan.
Fighting it out for closest brewery to Selhurst Park are Gipsy Hill – try their Bandit Pale Ale and Hepcat Session IPA - and our friends at Signal and Coalition who are based in an industrial estate behind Ikea in Croydon. Mark Bright and I checked them out recently.
We have beer here today from other Palace fans such as Titsey (owned by the Innes family), Cronx (Mark Russell) and the annual outing in cask form of Neil Morrissey’s famous Palace Ale.
The most fascinating addition to the CPFC Beer Festival looks to be EKO brewery based in SE15 – they are showing what are described as being “African-inspired beers from Peckham”. Their craft lager is brewed using coconut palm sugar and their Pale Ale features African Queen and Southern Pale hops.
To soak up the beers today we have a great choice of street food on sale and, for your entertainment, we have a world of music including the Endurance Steel Orchestra and the South London Jazz Orchestra.
I’d like to add my huge thanks to our very special guest – Joel Ward. This is a man who needs absolutely no introduction to anyone here today. Joel is a true Palace hero and without his goal-line clearance back at Wembley in 2013, the story of Crystal Palace FC could have been very different. Joel spent 13 seasons at Selhurst Park, and nobody has played more Premier League games for us than him – over 300. This time last year – in the greatest day of my life (and maybe yours too?) – he was lifting the FA Cup, and today he’ll be lifting a pint or two, as he returns to South London. He will certainly not need to put his hand in his pocket, as I think there will be a long queue of people who’d love to buy him a beer!
Thank you all for your fantastic support in this epic long season, from Norway to Newcastle and from Larnaca to Liverpool, it’s been a great adventure and fingers crossed that in Leipzig on May 27th we will finish it off in style!
We’re on our way! Cheers
Steve
