There is large variation between animals in how much they eat. Some eat in proportion to what they need for performance and others eat in excess. 30% of this variation is due to genetics and this means that you can breed for more efficient animals which can save you as much as $90 per cow per lactation. Have a look at the new feed efficiency traits on our Red and White Holsteins.

As CRV, we realize that crossbreeding is gaining popularity. The wide CRV breed portfolio offers multiple two and three way crosses that each deliver an animal benefitting from heterosis with specific advantages. Our centerspread lists some interesting crosses, following CRV’s CrossFit principle, and explains their respective resulting animal.
