Prayer Diary JUNE - SEPTEMBER 2016
JUNE Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12 (ESV) Wednesday 1st - Praise God for a great autumn camp season, and for the hundreds of campers who heard the Good News of Jesus on their camp where many seeds were planted in good soil. Thursday 2nd - Pray for Tara Years 3 and 4 who are on camp at Galston with Summit. Pray for leaders, to have energy and patience with young campers. Friday 3rd - Thank God for the recent CRU Teachers & Chaplains Professional Development Day and pray it will result in much fruit in students’ and teachers’ lives at school. Saturday 4th - Praise God for the ministry Summit has to the many teachers they meet on camps. Pray that God would be giving directors many opportunities and lots of courage to have conversations with them about God’s love and Jesus’ sacrifice for them. Sunday 5th - Please pray that we might find the staff we need to help maintain our facilities and feed the groups who come as guests to our two properties. Monday 6th - As our June Tax Appeal is underway, please pray that donors will be generous in their support to help maintain and improve our Galston Gorge campsite so that many children can continue to hear the Good News of Jesus. Tuesday 7th - Praise God for the new coat of paint on the accommodation at Galston. Praise God that, along with the recent replanting, many people are commenting positively about the environment at the site.
Wednesday 8th - Danebank Year 4 are with Summit at Galston this week. Pray for clear talks and fruitful discussion groups, that kids will hear and understand the Good News of Jesus! Thursday 9th - Summit are with William Clarke Year 6 in Canberra. Praise God for the chance to run the camp there. Pray for a smooth program, safety on the road and for the Word of God to impact the hearts of these campers! Friday 10th - Thank God for the opportunity to run an Inter-CRU event at Shore School today and pray that God will encourage and challenge high school students to stand firm for Christ at school. Saturday 11th - Thank God for David Hall (Bequest & Donor Care Manager) and Anna Szabo (Fundraising & Events Coordinator), who have joined the Fundraising team. Pray for them as they build relationships with supporters, organise events and bring honour to God in all they do. Sunday 12th - Pray that God might provide a person who would be an excellent fit for the second-in-charge role at Galston kitchen. Monday 13th -Thank God for the groups that are loving our food and providing encouraging feedback to the team. It helps us remember the reason we serve. Tuesday 14th - Arden Year 3 are at Winmalee with the Summit Team this week. Pray for safety for campers, leaders and teachers. Praise God for this site and its managers and the opportunity to show God’s love to these kids! Wednesday 15th - Praise God for the opportunity to run a Summit Camp for Norwest Trade School. Pray that this new camp would greatly impact the hearts of the campers. Pray that the leaders would be able to quickly build relationships and share Jesus on this short camp. Thursday 16th - Join with 800-900 other Christians at the Sydney Prayer Breakfast tomorrow in praying for our city and asking that God would enable us to be light to our community.
Friday 17th - Thank God for the opportunity to run an Inter-CRU event at St Catherine’s School today, and pray that God will encourage and challenge high school students to stand firm for Christ at school. Saturday 18th - Pray that the grant bodies and foundations that we apply to this year will looked favourably on our applications for various projects and will award us funds to further our ministry. Thank God for the funding we have received from these groups already this year Sunday 19th - Praise God for the great engineers He has provided to help us upgrade our wastewater treatment systems at Galston. Monday 20th - Please pray that God would use the Schools Ministry staff as they travel each day to schools to share the Good News of Jesus with students. Tuesday 21st - Please pray that our Schools Ministry Associates would settle into their role quickly and be a great help to many high school students.

Wednesday 22nd - Claremont Year 4 have their ecology camp at Collaroy. Pray that God will provide enthusiasm for Summit leaders and campers, in activities and discussion groups. Thursday 23rd - Pray that we might find a capable Bookings Manager to head up the bookings for Galston and Lake Mac. Friday 24th - Pray for the CRU Camps team as they prepare for camps and our biggest season of the year. Pray they can rely on God for strength and keep their eyes fixed on Him.
Saturday 25th - Pray for the students on Winter Study Camp 1 that they will hear and understand the Gospel and be moved by it. Sunday 26th - Praise God for Tim Wearne and the team on Winter Study Camp 2, that they will be faithful leaders and have wisdom in answering questions. Monday 27th - Pray for the campers at Winter Study Camp 3 at Yarramundi that it will be a great week of study and community. Tuesday 28th - Pray for Susie Ward and the team of leaders at Kiah Ridge on Winter Study Camp 4, that they can create a great sense of community on this smaller camp and build great relationships with the campers. Wednesday 29th - Praise God for Kristy and the team on Country BreakOut Camp, that lots of fun will be had riding horses, by the campfire and other adventures. Thursday 30th - Pray the leaders on Winter Study Camp 5 will be gentle and genuine.
JULY Friday 1st - Pray for the smaller Winter Study Camp 6 at Kiah Ridge that there will be great community and deeper conversations. Praise God for the faithful staff at this campsite. Saturday 2nd - Pray for Winter Study Camp 7 on beautiful Lake Macquarie that excellent study will be achieved and great conversations had by intentional leaders. Sunday 3rd - Praise God for the unique camp that is CRU Tech, for the campers and leaders who come along and learn amazing new technology applications. Pray for the leaders as they connect to these campers through technology. Monday 4th - Pray for the younger campers heading to the ski fields on Snow Mania camp. Pray for safety on the slopes and great times in the evenings hearing about Jesus.
Tuesday 5th - Pray for Josh and Andrew as they lead the team on Powderhounds and Matt’s team as they lead on Shred Thredbo. Pray for safety and great conversations. Wednesday 6th - Pray for the campers on Adrenalin Rush and for Adam and Aaron leading the team of Adrenalin Action leaders. May this action-packed camp have a great community and heaps of opportunities to tell campers about God. Pray for safety on both camps, and open and responsive hearts to the Gospel. Thursday 7th - Pray for the new SUPAWEEK Day Camp at St Paul’s Castle Hill. Give thanks to God for this partnership and for the opportunities for sharing the Good News this will bring. Friday 8th - Give thanks to God that He keeps His promises. Pray the campers on CRUZing will remember this and get connected into the local church, St Peter’s. Give thanks for the partnership we have with them through this camp. Saturday 9th - Pray for the quiet campers on camp. One camper last year said, ‘Even though I don’t talk much in them, I do take in everything you say. You really helped me to develop a better understanding of Christianity’. Praise God that He continues to work in these campers’ hearts even though we may not see the fruit right away. Sunday 10th - Pray for the young leaders on Junior CRU, that they can get equipped to serve in their schools and churches and on future camps and be faithful and spurred on through what they learn on camp. Monday 11th - Pray for the brand-new CRU Create Camp, all about performing arts. Pray for the parents who will come along to the final night performance, that connections can be made with them and the campers. Give thanks for the creative leaders on this camp led by Andrew and Kat, and the gifts God has given them to use for His glory.
Tuesday 12th - Pray for James and Polly leading a large team at Galston on Winter Study Camp 8, to share with campers the Good News. Pray they will have open hearts and minds to hear it! Pray for the Winter Study Camp 9 leaders and campers, for fruitful conversations and discussion-group time. Wednesday 13th - Pray for safety on the bikes and good weather to enjoy the outdoors on Easyriders. Pray for Katie and Iain as they lead this camp and take every opportunity to share Christ with the campers. Thursday 14th - Pray that the leaders on Shred Hotham will be intentional and have an eternal focus when interacting with campers. Friday 15th - Pray for Anna from last year’s Winter Escape Camp who wrote, ‘Dear Leaders, Thank you so much for this camp. I have had great fun and learnt heaps about God. Thanks again Anna’. Pray more campers will have this experience on camp in 2016. Saturday 16th - Praise God for the Perth Study Camp and for the many willing volunteers leading on this camp and supporting Year 12 students through the final months of school, encouraging them to think on eternal things. Sunday 17th - Praise God for the connection we have with Macarthur Anglican School and the way our SuperCRU Day Camp this past week is growing and allowing more kids to hear the Gospel. Monday 18th - Please pray for the Schools Ministry team as they reflect and plan at their annual retreat. Tuesday 19th - Praise God that Summit can be in Canberra with St Paul’s Year 6 this week. Pray that leaders will be displaying God’s grace and love to campers and teachers as they build relationships on camp!
Wednesday 20th - Praise God that campers on CRU Blast learnt God is real and that Jesus changes people’s lives. Praise God for the amazing group of junior leaders from Richard Johnson Anglican School that lead on this camp and that they will grow in their faith and knowledge of God through this camp as well as the campers. Thursday 21st - Praise God for the winter season of camps. Thank Him for the many campers who came along and that many seeds were planted and much fruit will come from their camp experiences.
Pray that children will build friendships with peers and leaders as well as developing a stronger relationship with Jesus during the Winter Camps
Friday 22nd - Praise God for the campsites that we are able to rent to run additional camps. Saturday 23rd - Please pray that the hundreds of students who attend FIT training events will grow in their love for God and His Word. Sunday 24th - Thank God for many lives changed during the recent camping season. Monday 25th - Oxford Falls Grammar Year 6 are going with Summit to Canberra this week. Praise God for the opportunity to get to know these kids and encourage them in their walk with God, and pray for safe travelling along the way! Tuesday 26th - Mountain View Adventist College Years 3 and 4 are on camp at Galston with Summit. Pray for the concentration of campers during talks and discussion groups and a positive attitude toward hearing about God!
Wednesday 27th - Thank God for the recent CRU training event in Canberra and pray that ministry in schools in Canberra will continue to grow. Thursday 28th - Praise God for the impact the Gospel has had on the students of William Carey 11. On camp, 17 students stayed behind for a prayer night. They shared openly and prayed boldly to live out what they believe, and to strive for unity within their year. Praise God the Schools Ministry associates on that camp have the opportunity to follow-up what happened on camp. Friday 29th - Please pray that God would strengthen and encourage school chaplains in their vital daily ministry. Saturday 30th - Praise God for the team of people that He’s brought to Summit this year. Pray that God would continue to grow each one of them. Pray that the Holy Spirit would help them to all be disciplined in spending time alone in the Word, to be refreshed, ready and excited to keep sharing Jesus with the people they meet this year. Sunday 31st - Praise God for the enquiries coming in from groups who would love to come to our sites. Pray that we will be able to fit them in.
AUGUST Monday 1st - Praise God for the impact the Gospel had on St Paul’s Year 11. A girl named Claudia shared with her discussion group that she longed for peace and thinks there is something more out there. Praise God that her leader, Em, was able to share with her the hope she can have in Jesus and that He will bring complete peace, eventually ending all pain and suffering. Praise God that Christian friends were keen to talk to her about their faith and wanted to take her to church and youth group. Tuesday 2nd - Please pray that Christian students will live godly lives at school and be clear witnesses to their friends.
Wednesday 3rd - Praise God for many students like Charlie in Year 9 who have become Christians at school and greatly value the encouragement of their CRU Group. Thursday 4th - As the Olympic Games start tomorrow, please pray for schools that are using this opportunity to run mission events in their school community. Pray that many students will run in such a way as to get the eternal prize. Friday 5th - A Schools Ministry fundraising lunch is being held today in the city, to outline the vision of Schools Ministry and raise funds to grow its reach in NSW and further afield. Please pray for God’s blessing on this vital ministry to school students.
Pray that our Summit team continue to positively empower the students and teachers that they meet on educational camps
Saturday 6th - Praise God for the many volunteers that dedicate their time and effort to helping Crusaders and our ministry. Sunday 7th - Praise God for His kindness in moving people to donate to Crusaders and support the work of reaching kids for Christ. Monday 8th - Please pray that as Crusader Council meets tonight the Spirit of God would empower and guide all discussions and decisions. Tuesday 9th - Give thanks for the many people who support Crusaders by giving of their time and energy helping with IT and admin activities. Wednesday 10th - Pray that God would advance the plans for the redevelopment of Lake Macquarie and provide the funding needed.
Thursday 11th - Please pray that, in schools where there is not currently a CRU Group, God would raise up a Christian teacher to help lead the students. Friday 12th - Praise God for the Marketing team of Mary Tran (Marketing Director) and Jack Burton (Direct & Digital Marketing Coordinator). Pray that they would be wise, insightful and creative as they promote Crusaders’ ministries both online and offline for God’s glory. Saturday 13th - Pray that Crusaders will be diligent in discharging our duty to provide a safe and fun environment for children. Sunday 14th - Give thanks for our wonderful volunteers who give generously of their time and resources to come to the office to help out with direct-mail campaigns, events, database updating and other tasks. Praise God for their willingness to help and for their encouragement to us. We are so grateful for their help! Monday 15th - Summit are with Scone Year 4 and Loquat Valley Anglican Preparatory Years 3 and 4 this week at Galston. Pray that the kids enjoy their experience, doing many fun activities, and pray that the message of God will be boldly proclaimed! Tuesday 16th - Pray for Scone Year 3 who are at Lake Mac with Summit. Praise God for this wonderful site! Pray for good weather and that leaders can demonstrate Christ’s love toward the campers! Wednesday 17th - Summit are at Crosslands with Roseville Year 2 this week. Praise God for the chance to share His love with such young kids and pray that they will learn how great He is! Thursday 18th - Praise God that the Summit leaders are able to run a day camp for Roseville College and Newington K–1. Pray that the little ones would have a lot of fun, be kept safe and would enjoy being in God’s creation at Bobbin Head.
Friday 19th - Please pray that the students who attend FIT training today in Canberra will grow in their love for God and others. Saturday 20th - Pray for Marketing as they oversee our social media and online tools. Pray for creativity ideas and discernment as these platforms are used to connect with kids and follow them up after camp. Pray they would also be effective in promoting Crusaders online throughout the year to the wider community. Sunday 21st - Please pray for schools that are currently looking for new principals, that God will provide Christian leaders. Monday 22nd - Please pray that the students who attend FIT training today in Sydney’s Inner-West will grow in their love for God and others. Tuesday 23rd - Praise God that on Loquat Valley Years 5 and 6, two girls, Stella and Eliza, both wanted Bibles to take home from camp and read! Eliza was so excited that she told her leader, Lisa, that she was going to read it on the bus home. Praise God and pray that He would speak to these girls through His Word. Wednesday 24th - Pray for Mel James - Accounts Clerk - as she continues on maternity leave and her replacement settles into her role in the office. Thursday 25th - Praise God that Summit can go on camp with Roseville Years 3 and 4 at Galston this week! Pray that these students will learn more about God and be keen to get involved in activities. Friday 26th - Trinity Christian School Year 4 are with Summit at Green Hills. Praise God for this site. Pray that the leaders would faithfully teach the truths about our great God and that the kids would grow in their knowledge and love of Him. Saturday 27th - Praise God for the number of groups wishing to re-book at Galston.
Sunday 28th - Pray that, Crusaders will continue to be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us, both financial and human. Monday 29th - Pray for the Finance team as we prepare the year-end accounts and get ready for a new financial year. Tuesday 30th - Please pray that the students who attend FIT training today on the South Coast will grow in their love for God and others. Wednesday 31st - Praise God that Summit is able to run a camp for Trinity Christian School Year 5 at the TOPS. Pray that God would provide the leaders with a lot of energy, wisdom and patience on this camp.
SEPTEMBER Thursday 1st - Pray for St Philip’s Gosford Years 3 and 4 who are at Galston this week. Pray that God will be working through the Summit Team to declare His truth clearly and effectively to these kids! Friday 2nd - Praise God that Oxford Falls Year 3 are at Winmalee this week with Summit. Pray that these kids will understand what they hear about God in talks and discussion groups and be eager to know more. Saturday 3rd - Please pray for the Holiday and Day Camps team as they prepare for the spring season coming up. Sunday 4th - Please pray that the necessary leaders are found for the upcoming spring holiday season. Monday 5th - Pray that God would sustain and protect Gary Hill as Crusaders’ Executive Director. Pray that he would lead humbly, wisely and faithfully. Tuesday 6th - At Toukley this week, Oxford Falls Grammar Year 5 are with Summit. Pray that relationships from previous years will continue to grow and the program runs smoothly and on time.
Wednesday 7th - Summit are running a camp for Rouse Hill Anglican College Year 4 at Galston. Pray that the kids will love getting to know the leaders, each other and God! Thursday 8th - Pray for Oxford Falls Grammar Year 4 as they are at Galston with the Summit Team. Praise God for the great opportunity the team has to spend time with these young ones and share God’s love. Friday 9th - Pray for Dubbo Christian School Years 5 and 6 who are at Lake Macquarie with Summit. Pray for safety on the water and good health for leaders, teachers and campers.
Pray for the Crusader staff. Pray that they would take on a commitment to building and developing others and their faith in Christ.
Saturday 10th - Please pray that the CRU CrossTrain training event in October will equip and excite student leaders for their ministry at school. Sunday 11th - Give thanks for the relationship CRU Day Camps is developing with many schools and churches that is allowing this ministry to grow and get kids connected to God. Monday 12th - Trinity Grammar School Years 3 and 4 are at Galston with the Summit Team. Pray for great relationships to be formed and for safety during activities. Tuesday 13th - Pray for HSC students preparing assessments and for final exams, for calm and focused minds and, as they think about the big life questions, that God will put people in their lives to remind them of Him. Wednesday 14th - Praise God that Year 3 from Mosman Preparatory are able to be on camp at Lake Mac this week with Summit. Pray that God’s Word can be shared faithfully.
Thursday 15th - Pray for camp with Pacific Hills Christian School Year 3 at Galston. Pray that the Summit leaders will be relying on God as they deal with young campers and be witnesses of God’s love! Friday 16th - Years 3 and 4 from Trinity Christian School are with Summit at Galston. Pray that the team will be energised and will constantly build one another up on camp. Saturday 17th - Pray for the upcoming spring holiday camps, for the campers already booked in, and that the leadership teams will come together. Sunday 18th - Pray for the leaders preparing for their spring camps, for their own personal growth and walk with God, and their boldness in sharing this with the campers. Monday 19th - At Winmalee the Summit leaders are with St Luke’s Year 4 this week. Pray that leaders are able to encourage students in their Christian walks and challenge those who haven’t yet accepted Jesus in their lives. Tuesday 20th - St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox College Year 8 are at Galston this week with the Summit leaders. Praise God for this opportunity to spend time getting to know these students. Pray that campers’ questions about God will be clearly answered. Wednesday 21st - About 180 young professionals are attending the Crusaders’ Business Breakfast this morning. Please pray that they will be encouraged in their faith and be generous in their support of Crusaders’ ministry to Aussie kids. Thursday 22nd - Pray for Year 10 students from St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox who are with Summit at Lake Mac this week. Pray that campers will be inquisitive about Christ and discussion groups will be fruitful times of growth for campers. Friday 23rd - Pray that the Summit leaders will be enthusiastic about sharing God’s Word with St Luke’s Year 3 at Galston this week. Pray that these kids have an exciting and fun time!
Saturday 24th - Pray for campers on Spring Study A at Galston and Study B at Toukley. May they feel relaxed and prepared for their final exams and that leaders on this camp can be a great encouragement and share the peace of Christ with the students. Sunday 25th - Pray for open hearts of the students and bold leaders on Spring Study Camp C, ready to take opportunities to share with the campers. Monday 26th - Pray for the Christian Uni groups leading on Spring Study Camp D and for the way this can help students in their years ahead at uni and linking them in to supportive groups as they explore Christianity and are faced with making many decisions. Tuesday 27th - Pray for Brooke and Nathan as they lead on Mac Time where they will be sailing, canoeing and doing heaps of other activities with a focus on Christ and sharing Him with the campers. Wednesday 28th - Give thanks for the campers who come on camp Frantik from challenging backgrounds, that they can feel loved and safe, and see something different in the leaders on CRU Camps and want to know more. Thursday 29th - Praise God for the King’s School Day Camp, that this new camp will bring countless opportunities to share Christ with these young campers. Friday 30th - Praise God for Loquat Valley Anglican School and that we are able to run a day camp here again. Pray for the local families that will bring their children along and that excellent follow-up can be done to keep them connected to the community there.
