May Prayer Diary 2015

JUNE 2015

“I will give thanks to the Lord because of His righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High” Psalm 7:17 Monday 1st - Crusader Council provides strategic direction and oversight to all of the work at Crusaders. As they meet today, pray that God will help them to be prayerful and wise in their decisions.

Tuesday 2nd - Thank God for the work done on the Lyrebird cabin renovations and meeting hall at Galston that will be able to be used for Winter Study Camps.

Wednesday 3rd - Thank God for His provision of three new Schools Ministry Staff Workers and two new Schools Ministry Associates who’ve been with us since the start of the year. Please pray that God would sustain them and continue to work through them as they share the Good News of Jesus with students.

Thursday 4th - Pray for Crusaders as we move into the budgeting process for the next financial year, mindful of God’s providence over us in the past.

Friday 5th - Pray that the students on Summit Camps this year will respond to the Gospel in a positive way. Pray that God will sustain the leaders and be at work in the hearts of the campers and teachers on camp.

Saturday 6th - Pray for the provision of Christian people to fill key roles in the Marketing and Fundraising team.

Sunday 7th - Praise God for Emily who ‘had a blast at Aqua Camp’ in January and decided to follow Jesus! Pray that she can use the Bible resources given to her to help her read the Word and grow in her new faith.

Monday 8th - Praise God that over 100 Years 7–9 boys attended the CRU Group at The King’s School during their recent mission week. Thank God for the many conversations

and opportunities to tell students the Good News of Jesus.

Tuesday 9th - Pray for the team responsible for planning the redevelopment of the Lake Mac Outdoor Recreation Centre and for the Crusader Council as they consider how the redevelopment can be best achieved.

Wednesday 10th - Summit is running a camp for Arden Anglican School Year 3 at Winmalee Christian Conference Centre. Praise God for this new camp! Pray that the Summit leaders will be a great encouragement to the students and staff.

Thursday 11th - Give thanks to God for our many volunteers, donors and prayer partners who support Crusaders. Praise Him for their willingness to give of their time, money and skills for kingdom work.

Friday 12th - Praise God that the CRU Group at Northcross Christian School has grown, with around 45 students in attendance. Pray that many more students will express interest in attending the CRU Group and learn more about Jesus.

Saturday 13th - With just a few weeks until Winter CRU Camps commence, pray for the CRU Camps team as they put final arrangements in place and especially for team leader, Nick Hood.

Sunday 14th - As we meet together with our church communities today, pray that we will be reminded of how good it is to be in fellowship with other Christians. Pray that God might bless our friendships.

Monday 15th - Claremont College Year 4 are at Galston this week with the Summit team for their school camp. Pray that the leaders show Christ’s love as they care for these young campers.

Tuesday 16th - Pray for camp leaders and directors preparing for the 23 Winter CRU Camps. Pray that God will be preparing their hearts to share the Good News about Jesus and enabling them to organise logistics in the knowledge and peace of God’s provision.

Wednesday 17th - Green Point Christian College has their Year 9 camp at Galston this week. Pray for safety as they hike and camp out at Crosslands Reserve with the Summit team.

Thursday 18th - Pray for this year’s End Of Financial Year Appeal. Ask that God would provide the seed funding needed to grow the Summit School Camp ministry over the next five years and that supporters would be prayerful about Crusaders’ needs.

Friday 19th - Pray for the Lake Mac staff teams, that they might work in unity for God’s glory in all that they do. Pray also for all staff, for continued faithful witness to God’s love and forgiveness.

Saturday 20th - Pray for unity and good communication among the leaders at Winter Study Camp 1 commencing today, and for wisdom for Mike and Kate as they lead a large team. Pray that the campers will have a productive study week and understand the Good News of Jesus as it’s shared.

Sunday 21st - Praise God for Kristy and her passion for directing the Country Breakout camp in new and creative ways. Pray for protection during pony riding and activities, and that the campers will learn the truth and love of Jesus from their leaders’ examples and words.

Monday 22nd - Chaplains play an important role in many schools across NSW and ACT. Thank God for the Christian environment they help to foster and for their ministry amongst students.

Tuesday 23rd - Pray that the campers on Winter Study Camp 2 will come to a deeper understanding of the grace and truth of the Gospel. Ask God to give them peace and clear minds for studying. Pray for Tim and Ben as they direct, for good teamwork and community amongst the leaders and the whole camp.

Wednesday 24th - Thank God for the recent Inter-CRU event held at Cranbrook School and the good number of students that came along from the Eastern Suburbs. Please pray for the upcoming events at Barker College, Trinity Grammar and Canberra Grammar, that many students will come and be greatly encouraged in their walk with Jesus and as a result stand up for Christ at school.

Thursday 25th - Pray for Matt as he directs Winter Study Camp 3 at a different campsite to where they have been before. Pray for productive study sessions and that the campers will be open to the Gospel and challenged to consider the relationship God is offering them through Jesus.

Pray that CRU Campers will grow into life-long disciples of Christ.

Friday 26th - Pray that, as we finalise the campsites’ budgets for 2015/16, we will continue to be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us and that groups will continue to enjoy using the campsites for their camps.

Saturday 27th - Thank God for the privilege we have to speak to others about the Gospel. Pray that He will work powerfully through everyone at Crusaders so that more young people will hear the truth and put their faith in Jesus.

Sunday 28th - Dirt Action, Crütech and CRU ZING Day Camp commence this week. Pray for a fun and inclusive camp experience that fosters real conversations about God and revelations of Gospel truths. Pray for the leaders to have wisdom and abounding energy.

Monday 29th - Pray that positive relationships and a strong sense of community that demonstrates Christ’s love can be formed on Winter Study Camp 4. Pray for Emily, Alaric and their team as they share and chat about the Gospel, and support the campers’ studies.

Tuesday 30th - Ask God for protection for Snow Mania campers on the long bus trip, on the snowfields and from homesickness for these young campers. Pray that James and his team can demonstrate and explain Christ’s love clearly and that campers will respond to the Gospel.

JULY 2015 Wednesday 1st - Adrenalin Rush CRU Camp is this week.

Pray for wisdom and creativity for Nathan and the leaders as they run camp. Pray for a community to be fostered that reflects Christ and for campers to be challenged by the truth about Jesus.

Thursday 2nd - Powderhounds camp is on this week. Pray for fruitful discussion groups and conversations after long days on the snow. Ask God for protection on the slopes and that a strong community will be developed amongst leaders and campers that demonstrates the love of God. Friday 3rd - Pray for wisdom for Matt as he directs Shred Thredbo CRU Camp and for good communication amongst leaders. Pray that campers will enjoy the snow and have open hearts and fruitful discussions about the Gospel with leaders.

Saturday 4th - Four Study Camps commence this week.

Please pray for the leaders to have integrity and wisdom in supporting campers both with their studies and in considering Christ. Pray that campers will be open to being challenged by the Good News of Jesus, and find peace about their studies.

Sunday 5th - Ask God for protection for campers on our two snow camps this week. Pray for a strong and caring camp community that models Jesus’ love to be established on camp.

Monday 6th - Praise God for the Junior CRU campers who are keen to be equipped to grow in and share their faith!

Pray for tangible skills and practical lessons from the Bible and lifelong foundations to be formed. Pray for wisdom and creativity for Paul, Lisa and the leadership team.

Tuesday 7th - SUPER CRU Day Camp is on this week. Praise God for the partnership made with Macarthur Anglican School and surrounding churches. Pray that many campers will respond to the Gospel and for connections to be built between their families, the CRU lunchtime groups and churches.

Wednesday 8th - Pray for safety for our camp groups and for the staff as they seek to provide a safe and enjoyable environment. Praise God for the protection He provides us.

Thursday 9th - The school holidays are coming to an end.

Pray for good rest and refreshment for all the leaders and campers returning from camp and that they will continue to think through the things they’ve learned.

Friday 10th - Uphold the marketing team in your prayers as they prepare the CRU Camps brochure for spring. Pray for creativity and clarity as they produce a brochure that will attract kids and their parents to CRU Camps and provide opportunities to share Jesus with them.

Saturday 11th - Pray for Levi as a ďŹ rst-time director alongside Katie on Easyriders, for great communication and teamwork. Pray for a not-too-cold week, for safety on the bikes and that God would bring exciting revelations about the truth of the Gospel.

Sunday 12th - Summit is running a leadership conference with Abbotsleigh Senior School Year 11 at Galston. Pray that the girls would see a great example of what leadership looks like through the Summit team.

Monday 13th - As a new school term begins, pray for enthusiasm for teachers who run CRU Groups in schools.

Ask that their witness will be a light to their colleagues and their students.

Pray that children will quickly build friendships with their peers and leaders on camps.

Tuesday 14th - Thank God for the partnership made with Richard Johnson Anglican School for the CRU Day Camp held there this week. Pray for Helen and the team to build

relationships with both campers and parents. Pray that campers will respond to the Good News of Jesus and be connected with CRU groups and St Mark’s Church.

Wednesday 15th - Praise God for a student at Abbotsleigh who heard the Gospel in her Year 7 Christian Studies class.

Pray that she will be able to meet with the school Chaplain and come along to the CRU Group at Abbotsleigh.

Thursday 16th - Pray for Gary Hill as he leads the Crusaders’ team and ask God for wisdom in his decision-making and for energy in this role.

Friday 17th - Pray for those who are being encouraged to start attending church youth groups after their experience on CRU Camps. Pray they will be bold enough to go along and that the youth groups will be welcoming.

Saturday 18th - Thank God for all the volunteer leaders who made the winter CRU Camps happen. Thank God for their generosity with their time and their energy to spend a week hanging out with kids and teaching them about Jesus.

Sunday 19th - Pray for the CRU Camps Team as they recruit, train and support directors, leaders and speakers as they share the Gospel. Pray for energy and good health as they balance administration and support, and that they are able to focus on sharing their faith when on camp.

Monday 20th - Praise God for a recent school leaver who attended Senior CRU Camp and felt equipped through practical skills and feedback to become a future CRU Camp leader. Pray that the encouragement she received through prayer triplets and mentoring will spur her on for camp leading and ministry opportunities this year!

Tuesday 21st - St Paul’s Grammar School Year 6 will be at Greenhills Centre this week with the Summit team. Pray that the leaders will bond quickly with the Year 6 kids and show them God’s love.

Wednesday 22nd - Summit is accompanying the Year 6 students from William Clarke College on their Canberra trip this week. Pray for safety as they travel many kilometres, for the desired educational outcomes to be achieved and that they would stop to consider the message of the Gospel.

Thursday 23rd - Please continue to pray for the current schools that do not have a CRU lunchtime group. Pray that God would open the door for a group to start and that He

will provide the right person to lead the group so that students can grow and encourage each other in their faith at school.

Friday 24th - Pray for our Finance Team, Peter, Eric and Mel, and our regular volunteer, Simon. Thank God for their skill and diligence in administering Crusaders’ accounts.

Saturday 25th - Thank God for supporters who have left a gift to Crusaders in their Will. Ask that God will use their gifts to bring many young people to Christ.

Sunday 26th - Pray for creativity and insight for Emma Robinson as she manages the social media to follow up campers after camp and to promote Crusaders online.

Monday 27th - Crusader Council provides strategic direction and oversight to all of the work at Crusaders. As they meet today, pray that God will help them to be prayerful and wise in their decisions.

Tuesday 28th - The Summit team will be engaging in some intensive Bible training including their spiritual retreat and activity training during the next few months. Pray for those running the training, that they prepare and present well. Pray for safety and understanding as they cover a lot of content.

Wednesday 29th - Pray for all Crusaders’ staff to be devoted to prayer for schools and students across NSW and the ACT. Thursday 30th - Thank God for Crusaders’ Divisional Heads team. Pray they may continue to serve each other, Crusaders and their teams well. Pray for humility, wisdom and boldness.

Friday 31st - Give thanks to God for revealing Himself to us in His Word. Pray that all Crusader staff and volunteers will continue to be committed to reading and understanding the Bible and teaching it faithfully.

AUGUST 2015 Saturday 1st - Pray for young campers who have been shown the love of Christ on camp but who have unbelieving families. Pray that God will use these kids to be lights to

their families and to be nurtured by school CRU Groups or church youth groups.

Sunday 2nd - Give thanks for our wonderful volunteers who give generously of their time and resources to come to the office to help out with direct-mail campaigns, events, database updating and other tasks. Praise God for their willingness to help and for their encouragement to us. We are so grateful for your help!

Monday 3rd - Thank God for Jesus’ death and resurrection and the life He offers to everyone who believes in Him. Thank God for the privilege Crusaders’ staff have to speak this message of hope into the lives of so many young people each year.

Tuesday 4th - Thank God for a camper who learnt about how ‘hectic’ God is at the new Treasure Island camp in December. He decided to join God’s side, asking God to help him trust and live for Him. Pray that this camper can grow in his faith and be encouraged through the CRU Group at his school.

Wednesday 5th - Summit is running a camp for Loquat Valley Anglican Preparatory School at Galston this week.

Pray that the leaders will build great relationships and that the Years 3 and 4 students will understand God’s love.

Thursday 6th - Pray for wisdom, imagination and joy for senior staff at Lake Mac as they lead their teams and allocate resources for the benefit and enjoyment of guests.

Friday 7th - Ask God to direct our country’s elected leaders and pray that they will govern our country with wisdom, fairness and justice.

Saturday 8th - Praise God for the new opportunities to run CRU Day Camps that He has provided and the many K–Year 6 kids who have heard the Gospel through this new ministry. Pray for Calum Henderson as he liaises with schools and their local churches to arrange camps in new areas around Sydney!

Sunday 9th - Thank God for the young leaders being trained and equipped for ministry in the Summit team. Pray that these leaders will serve and grow His kingdom faithfully into the future.

Monday 10th - Give thanks for the updated IT systems in the Crusaders’ office and pray for guidance on those still

yet to be implemented.

Tuesday 11th - God’s Word ‘is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path’ (Psalm 119:105). Thank God for His Word and pray that He will help guide and direct Crusaders’ staff as they spend time studying the Bible together each week.

Wednesday 12th - Summit is running a camp for Scone Grammar Year 4 at Galston. Pray that they will have an enjoyable time exploring creation and learning about God and themselves.

Thursday 13th - Scone Grammar Year 3 are at Lake Mac with Summit! Pray that everyone will be energetic and excited to be on camp and that the message of Jesus will be proclaimed boldly.

Friday 14th - Ask God to raise up leaders, houseparents and speakers for Spring CRU Camps so that the Gospel can be proclaimed to as many kids as possible.

Thank God for all of Crusaders’ supporters who pray, give and volunteer to enable the Gospel to be proclaimed to thousands of kids each year.

Saturday 15th - Pray for high school students as they strive to stand up for their faith amongst their peers.

Sunday 16th - Praise God for the bearing of fruit as hundreds of students attend weekly Bible Studies at St Paul’s Grammar School. Pray that students attending the Bible studies will continue to grow in their desire to live out their faith at school.

Monday 17th - The FIT (Followers in Training) Week commences today in various locations around Sydney, Nowra and Canberra. Pray that many Year 5–6 school

students will come and be well equipped in Christian leadership in order to serve God in their schools.

Tuesday 18th - Pray for Crusaders’ Property Bookings team as they seek to serve the guests at the Galston Gorge and Lake Mac campsites.

Wednesday 19th - Roseville College Year 2 will be at Crosslands Reserve for a two-day camp with the Summit team. Pray that the team will be full of energy as they seek to share God’s love with these young ones.

Thursday 20th - Summit is running a camp for Roseville College Years 3 and 4 at Galston this week. Pray that they will have a great camp where they have the opportunity to learn more about themselves, their classmates and God. Friday 21st - Roseville/Newington K–1 are with Summit for a Day Camp at Bobbin Head National Park. Pray for the Summit team, that this will be a great start to many relationships with the students. Pray that the leaders will be full of energy and enthusiasm as they spend time with these little ones.

Saturday 22nd - Pray for safety on the roads for the Schools Ministry team as they travel to schools around NSW and the ACT during the year.

Sunday 23rd - Pray that God’s Holy Spirit will sustain His workers so the resulting harvest will abundantly glorify God’s holy name.

Monday 24th - Crusader Council provides strategic direction and oversight to all of the work at Crusaders. As they meet today, pray that God will help them to be prayerful and wise in their decisions.

Tuesday 25th - Thank God for the many teachers and student leaders who give their time to lead lunchtime CRU Groups at schools so that students can meet together and learn more about God. Wednesday 26th - Give thanks for Crusaders’ IT team and for the way they patiently and faithfully serve everyone at Crusaders.

Thursday 27th - Oxford Falls Grammar School Year 3 are at Winmalee Christian Conference Centre with Summit this week. Praise God that we have a great relationship with this site and that the students will leave camp knowing more about our great God!

Friday 28th - Rouse Hill Anglican College Year 4 are on a Summit Camp at Galston today. Pray for the Summit team as they seek to love and to teach the Gospel to the campers throughout this camp.

Saturday 29th - Summit is running the children’s program for Connecting Carers – an organisation that supports foster, kinship and relative carers. Praise God for this awesome opportunity! Pray that the leaders will be intentional on camp as they have conversations with campers and carers.

Pray that the leaders will show God’s love in all they do as they care for the campers.

Sunday 30th - Pray for Andrew Reeves as he directs the site at Galston and, with his team, creates an environment where people can take time away and enjoy fellowship together.

Monday 31st - Pray for the Principals of schools connected with Crusaders. Ask that God will sustain them and help them lead their schools in a godly way.

SEPTEMBER 2015 Tuesday 1st - Praise God for a student who continues to come to the Wenona Junior School CRU group. She has lots of questions about God and loves hearing about Jesus. Pray that she will continue to be eager to learn more and continue to love coming to CRU! Wednesday 2nd - Summit is running the camp program for Oxford Falls Grammar School Year 5 at Lutanda Toukley.

Pray for the Summit Team as they run the program from a different site and for safety during all the activities.

Thursday 3rd - Trinity Grammar Year 3 are at Galston with Summit this week. Pray that the leaders show Christ’s love as they care for these young campers.

Friday 4th - St Philips Christian College Gosford Years 3 and 4 are at Lake Mac with the Summit team this week. Praise God for this camp and pray for many opportunities to relate to and share with the campers.

Saturday 5th - Pray for the marketing campaigns being sent to churches, schools and community groups during the year, that they will be effective in encouraging groups to use our sites for their camps and retreats.

Sunday 6th - Praise God for His protection over the campsite staff as they do their work. Pray for staff to be diligent in their roles and for continued safety and beneficial camp experiences for the thousands of guests who use the sites each year.

Monday 7th - Oxford Falls Grammar School are taking their Year 4 students to Galston with the Summit team. Pray that God will provide the leaders with strength and excitement as they serve the students this week.

Tuesday 8th - Pray for teachers and students at independent schools where there is little Christian support. Pray that God would comfort and strengthen them and use Crusaders to encourage them to persevere.

Wednesday 9th - The Summit team is running a camp for Mosman Prep Year 3 at Lake Mac this week. Pray that the boys will have a great time hanging out with the leaders and doing awesome activities in God’s creation.

Thursday 10th - Pacific Hills Christian School Year 3 is with Summit at Galston. Pray that the students will have lots of fun whilst on camp, learning more about themselves, their peers and our great God! Friday 11th - Thank God for the mentoring relationships between older Crusader staff and younger trainee staff. Pray that these young people will grow in their giftings and love of God. Saturday 12th - Claremont Dads and Kids camp is at Lake Mac with the Summit team this weekend. Pray that this very big camp runs smoothly. Praise God for the opportunity these kids get to spend a weekend with their dad and pray that this is a fruitful time.

Sunday 13th - Ask God to provide opportunities for more Day Camps. Pray for Calum Henderson as he meets with school leaders to discuss partnership opportunities for Day Camps.

Monday 14th - Pray for St Luke’s Grammar School Year 3 who are at Galston this week. Pray that this will be a great time where the students can have lots of fun doing awesome activities with their leaders and making new friends.

Tuesday 15th - St Luke’s Grammar School Year 4 are at Winmalee with Summit. Pray that the Summit team will make good connections with the students and take the opportunity to show them God’s love as they have lots of fun on camp.

Wednesday 16th - Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox College Year 8 are at Galston. Pray that the Summit team will be able to use every opportunity God gives them to share Jesus with the kids.

Pray that young people will seek answers to their questions and God will provide opportunities for great discussion.

Thursday 17th - St Peter’s Anglican Primary School Year 4 are at Attunga with Summit this week. Praise God for the great relationship we have with this school. Pray that the campers will be keen to hear from the leaders and willing to learn.

Friday 18th - Summit is running a camp for Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox College Year 10 at Lake Mac. Pray that the students, teachers and leaders will have an enjoyable time in God’s creation together doing activities.

Saturday 19th - Give thanks for a student at MLC Senior, who loves coming along to her lunchtime group. She comes every week and loves hearing stories about Jesus. Pray that she will grow in her faith and be able to share Jesus with her friends.

Sunday 20th - As school holidays have commenced, pray that all leaders will be well prepared for Spring CRU Camps and that campers will hear the Good News of Jesus and that God’s Spirit will be active on camp.

Monday 21st - Pray for senior students who help run CRU Groups in their schools. Ask that they will set a good example

for younger students and develop a passion for discipling younger Christians in their faith.

Tuesday 22nd - Thank God for Eric de Beer and his years of service in the finance team. Pray for wisdom and energy as he works on numerous tasks in his busy role.

Wednesday 23rd - Trinity Christian School Year 5 are on Summit Camp. Pray for safety as they do many activities and pray that God will provide the leaders with strength and energy as they seek to love and teach the campers throughout the week.

Thursday 24th - Pray for all those of different denominations who are involved in Crusaders. Pray they will be unified in God’s truth, which is foundational to us all, and that teams will work well together.

Friday 25th - Pray for Trinity Christian School Year 4 who are at Greenhills Centre with Summit. Pray that the Summit team can be caring towards these young campers, showing them Christ’s love.

Saturday 26th - Pray that various projects at our campsites will be completed on time and that groups will be able to enjoy their time spent at our sites.

Sunday 27th - Thank the Lord for Crusaders’ administrative staff and the crucial role they play in supporting and enabling the spread of the Gospel.

Monday 28th - Ask God to give boldness and wisdom to the Schools Ministry team as they speak God’s Word at chapel services to many students from various backgrounds.

Tuesday 29th - The Crusader Business Breakfast is coming up in a few weeks. Pray that there will be good attendance on the day and people will be inspired to thank God and be generous in supporting the ministry of Crusaders.

Wednesday 30th - Thank God for the freedom that we have in Australia to meet in Jesus’ name and to speak openly of the Gospel in so many independent schools.
