DIARY prayer

JANUARY

Week starting Sunday 1 January

Praise God for the new year and an exciting start to 2023 with six activity camps happening this week. Please pray for smooth logistics and safety as multiple camps run. Pray that the volunteer leaders will have many opportunities to share who God is with the campers, and that many young lives will be reached with the gospel. Pray also for the wider CRU® staff as they look ahead to the new year. Pray that God will be glorified through all of CRU’s ministries.

Week starting Sunday 8 January

Give thanks for the five activity camps, two Day Camps, and one CRU Study Camp being held this week. Praise God for the many campers who will be enjoying various activities. Pray that fruitful relationships will be developed on camp, and that the volunteer leaders will be able to answer questions about the gospel faithfully and lovingly.

Week starting Sunday 15 January

Praise God for the holiday camps happening in NSW, the ACT and WA this week. Pray that the campers will enjoy a wonderful camp experience and make lifelong friends. Pray that many young lives will be reached with the gospel and campers will be inspired to learn more about God beyond camp.

Week starting Sunday 22 January

Please pray for students, teachers and chaplains as they prepare to return to school next week. Pray that God will continue to provide CRU's Schools Ministry team with opportunities to support teachers, chaplains and students in schools this year.

Week starting Sunday 29 January

Give thanks for the many CRU Educational Camps running this term. Please pray for the four camps happening at CRU Lake Mac and CRU Galston Gorge this week. Pray that our Summit team will be able to model Christ in the way they lead, and that many campers will be encouraged to hear about Jesus throughout camp. Pray also that the team can build good relationships with the teachers and have fruitful conversations.

FEBRUARY

Week starting Sunday 5 February

Praise God for the new Summit trainees who have joined the team this year. Thank God for His provision and pray He will use the trainees to glorify His name. Pray also for the four CRU® Educational Camps running this week at CRU Lake Mac and CRU Galston Gorge. Pray that students and teachers will enjoy their time on camp and that the message of Jesus will be well-received.

Week starting Sunday 12 February

Please pray for the four CRU Educational Camps running this week at CRU Lake Mac. Pray that the team leads with enthusiasm and passion, ready to serve the students and teachers well. Pray that everything runs well and for the students as they participate in various activities and sessions to help them prepare for the year ahead. Pray also for the CRU AGM meeting to be held this week, that God will guide the discussion and decision-making.

Week starting Sunday 19 February

The CRU Schools Ministry team will start running Inter-CRUs this week at six different locations, including a new Inter-CRU on the Northern Beaches. Inter-CRUs are combined school events for Year 7-12 students. Please pray for the team as they run the events, and pray that the students will be encouraged in their faith. The CRU Women’s Fellowship will be meeting this week for morning tea and to pray for the work of CRU. May these faithful prayer warriors be encouraged as they hear how God is transforming young lives through CRU!

Week starting Sunday 26 February

Praise God for the four CRU Educational Camps running this week at CRU Galston Gorge and CRU Lake Mac. Please pray that the students will enjoy all the planned activities and that the students will grow in their understanding of who Jesus is. Give thanks for the leaders on these particular camps. Pray that God will grant them energy and health, and that they will model Christ to the campers.

MARCH

Week starting Sunday 5 March

CRU Educational Camps is running five camps this week at various sites, including CRU Galston Gorge and CRU Lake Mac. Please pray that the students will enjoy their time on camp and engage with the activities and talks. Pray also that each camp will run smoothly, the team will work well together, and that the leaders will build good relationships with the teachers.

Week starting Sunday 12 March

Please pray for the CRU Schools Ministry team who will be running five Followers in Training (FIT) events over the next week. Pray for Clare Wimble and the team as they work to encourage Year 5-6 students in their faith. Pray these students will be equipped with the leadership skills necessary to lead like Jesus in their schools. Give thanks for the seven CRU Educational Camps happening over the next two weeks at CRU Galston Gorge, CRU Lake Mac and Newcastle. Praise God for the passionate and caring team of leaders and for their work they do in proclaiming the gospel to students.

Week starting Sunday 19 March

Give thanks for the work of the CRU Board as they meet this week to discuss plans for CRU and its future. Pray that God will guide all decisions. Pray for the four FIT events happening this week, that students will grow in their faith and be equipped to serve their peers in their final years of primary school. Approximately 300 guests will be attending the CRU Business Lunch at The Fullerton Hotel this Friday. Give thanks for the guest speaker, Olympic high jumper Nicola Olyslagers, and pray that guests will be encouraged as they hear how God has been working through CRU to bring many young people to faith on camps and in schools. Please pray that guests will give generously to support this vital work.

Week starting Sunday 26 March

Please continue to pray for CRU Executive Director Gary Hill as he leads with godliness. We thank God for Gary, for the great work he does for CRU and for the many relationships he has developed within the community across the years. Praise God also for the five CRU Educational Camps happening this week at CRU Galston Gorge, CRU Lake Mac and in the Blue Mountains. Please pray for the smooth running of camps and that the students will leave camp with a greater understanding of who Jesus is.

APRIL

Week starting Sunday 2

April

Give thanks for the five CRU® Educational Camps being held this week at CRU Lake Mac and CRU Galston Gorge. Please pray that camps will run as planned, that campers and teachers will enjoy themselves as they participate in all the planned sessions and activities, and that God will be glorified through the camp.

Week starting Sunday 9 April

Please pray for the autumn CRU Holiday Camps season, both in NSW and WA. Pray for the two Year 12 Study Camps, four activity camps, and one Day Camp in NSW this week, as well as a Christian leadership camp and an activity camp in WA. Pray that the campers will enjoy an amazing camp experience alongside new friends and supportive leaders, and that the Spirit will be at work in the hearts of the campers during the week.

Week starting Sunday 16 April

Praise God for the five CRU Holiday Camps running this week. Pray that campers will have a great time completing the outdoor activities, and that discussion groups will be a fruitful time for campers to ask questions and receive answers. Give thanks for CRU's wonderful volunteers who give their time and resources to come and serve on camps. Praise God for their willingness to share the gospel and for their encouragement to us.

Week starting Sunday 23 April

Praise God for a great autumn CRU Holiday Camps season and give thanks for all the campers who attended. We thank God for the hundreds of directors, speakers, leaders, cooks, boaties and all other staff and volunteers for their faithful service, sacrifice and all the work they did to make this autumn season such an enjoyable experience for campers. Pray also for the two CRU Educational Camps running this week - Years 5-6 Northcross Christian School and Year 8 Shire Christian School.

Week starting Sunday 30 April

Pray for the five CRU Educational Camps this week at CRU Galston Gorge and CRU Lake Mac. Praise God for how He uses the Educational Camps team to positively impact the lives of the next generation. Also give thanks for the site, catering, and admin staff who work diligently behind the scenes to ensure positive camp experiences for our guests.

MAY

Week starting Sunday 7 May

Please pray for the Teachers' Conference to be held at St Anne's Anglican Church, Ryde, this Friday. Pray that the teachers will be encouraged in their faith and be inspired to keep praying in and for their schools. Pray also for the seven CRU Educational Camps happening this week across various sites including CRU Galston Gorge and CRU Lake Mac. Give thanks for such a large number of camps and the subsequent opportunities to positively impact the lives of many young people.

Week starting Sunday 14 May

Pray for the CRU Board as they meet this Monday. Give thanks for these men and women who serve faithfully and for their love for God. Pray that their decision making will enable Jesus to be glorified. Pray also for the five CRU Educational Camps running this week at CRU Lake Mac and CRU Galston Gorge. Give thanks for the faithful service of the leaders as they work hard to make camp an enjoyable experience for both teachers and students. Praise God for the camps ministry and the opportunities provided to share Jesus with hundreds of kids this week.

Week starting Sunday 21 May

Give thanks to God for those who financially support CRU West in schools and on camps in WA. Pray that the ministry work will grow to allow for more opportunities for the gospel to be preached and lives changed.

Week starting Sunday 28 May

Praise God and give thanks for the CRU staff who work behind the scenes in Accounts, Payroll, Communications, Operations, HR and IT. Thank God for equipping them with unique skills and experience as they work to support the frontline ministries of CRU. Pray also that teachers will be encouraged and equipped as they attend the CRU West Teachers Conference to be held on 30 May at Swan Christian College.
