January to May 2022
JANUARY Monday 17 January – Give thanks for Summer Study 2 this week and the way this camp gives students more confidence in their Year 12 study. Pray that students will gain a more balanced perspective of Year 12 life and be curious to learn more about the hope Jesus brings. Tuesday 18 January – Praise God that Triple S has received so much interest this year. Give thanks for the leaders as they seek to serve and build relationships with the campers this week. Pray that the campers will enjoy the outdoor activities at CRU® Lake Mac and ask many gospel related questions. Wednesday 19 January – Please pray for CRU Frenzy that is running in Canberra this week. Pray that campers will have a wonderful time as they make new friends, enjoy the activities, and learn more about who Jesus is. Thursday 20 January – Thank God for the first Big Summer camp that was held in Albany, WA, this week. Praise God that the camp was fully booked and that many assistant leaders were trained up during the week. Pray that these assistant leaders will continue to grow in their knowledge and love of our great God and that they will be faithful leaders on future camps and in their churches. Friday 21 January – Please pray for those of the Summit team who moved on from CRU in December 2021. Pray that God will continue to use them for His glory and that they will continue using the gifts and skills they learnt during the Summit Program to serve Jesus. Saturday 22 January – Give thanks for the men and women who serve as Directors on the CRU Board, and their love of the Lord Jesus. As some Directors step down after years of service, pray for those who will replace them that they will settle quickly into their roles. Sunday 23 January – Praise God for the hundreds of directors, leaders, cooks, speakers, boaties and all the other volunteers on camp over the recent summer Holiday Camp season. Thank God for their faithful service, sacrifice, and the way they helped make CRU Camps so enjoyable for the campers.
Monday 24 January – We have a wide variety of projects being planned and in progress at CRU Galston Gorge. Please pray that the team will develop plans and designs that will meet the needs of our guests and promote further ministry opportunities. Please pray in particular for the planning process for a new BMX pump track. Please ask that God will grant safety and a smooth process as we engage with the local council. Tuesday 25 January – Give thanks for the many new Summit Program trainees who have joined CRU this year! Praise God for His provision in this way and pray that He would be using them powerfully to glorify His name. Please pray for the trainees as they complete January training, that they will be able to retain all the knowledge and skills for the job and be able to apply them on CRU Educational Camps coming up in February. Wednesday 26 January – Give thanks that the lunchtime groups at Pymble Ladies College were able to meet online during the lockdown in 2021. Pray that as they meet in person this year that their love for Jesus will grow and that the students will be bold in inviting their friends to the CRU Groups so that they too can hear about God’s love for them. Thursday 27 January – Please pray that the trusts and foundations CRU approaches for grant funding this year will look favourably upon our applications so that funding can be achieved and facilities improved to further resource our ministry. Thank God for the funding we received from grant bodies over the last year. Friday 28 January – Give thanks for the men and women who serve as Divisional Heads at CRU and pray for them as they meet next month. Give thanks for the way God has equipped them for their roles. Pray that Gary might lead this group well, that they might work in unity for the sake of the gospel. Saturday 29 January – Praise God for the many Bibles and devotions given to campers who showed interest during recent summer Holiday Camps and CRU Educational Camps in 2021. Pray that the campers will be able to use them to continue to learn about our great God and further develop their relationship with Him. Sunday 30 January – Praise God for watching over the CRU community during the COVID crisis, and please continue to pray for His protection this year. Pray that God will continue to bless and use CRU Camps, Educational Camps, schools ministry and the CRU campsites for His kingdom purpose. Monday 31 January – The CRU AGM is scheduled to take place today, with this year’s first Board meeting following on. Please pray for Tim Wright (Chair) and other Board Members, and also for Gary Hill and Nigel Glasby, as they prepare for the meeting with Members. Pray that the Members and Board will have thoughtful discussions as they meet, aiding wise and godly decision making.
FEBRUARY Tuesday 1 February – Give thanks for the first CRU® Educational Camp of the year! The CRU Educational Camps team is with Abbotsleigh Year 12 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray that camp will run smoothly, that the campers and teachers will enjoy themselves on camp, and that God will be glorified. Wednesday 2 February – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Wyong Christian Community School Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. This is the first time the school has booked with CRU, so please give thanks for this new booking and new camp program. Please pray that the camp will run smoothly and for the opportunity to continue running this camp in the future. Thursday 3 February – Oran Park Anglican College Year 11 are with the CRU Educational Camps team at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Praise God for this brand new camp! Please pray that God will be glorified this week and that positive relationships will be formed between campers, teachers and CRU staff. Friday 4 February – Pacific Hills Christian School Year 10 will join the CRU Educational Camps team for a Leadership and Study Skills Camp this week at CRU Lake Mac. Please pray that the students will be well equipped for their final years of high school and pray that the students will be strengthened in their faith. Saturday 5 February – Thank God for all those who gave so generously towards the COVID Camps Crisis Appeal at the end of last year, helping CRU weather the challenges of COVID. Praise God for how He is working in campers’ lives. Sunday 6 February – During Term 1, the CRU Educational Camps team is running 46 school camps – their biggest ever Term 1! Praise God for this amazing opportunity to provide exceptional camp experiences and share the gospel with around 4,425 students. Praise God for how He uses the Summit trainees and Educational Camps staff to positively impact the lives of the next generation.
Monday 7 February – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Maitland Christian School Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the students will have a great camp experience participating in various activities. Also, pray for the camp director to lead the team well with humility and grace. Tuesday 8 February – Please pray for CRU Lake Mac recruitment efforts as the site aims to increase site staff by 30%. These additional team members will help run the large number of camps that are booked in for 2022. Please pray that the new team members will be committed Christians who are passionate to serve in camp ministry. Wednesday 9 February – Newington College Year 3 and 4 are with the CRU Educational Camps team this week. For half of them, this will be their first residential camp, so pray that the students will have an enjoyable time on camp with minimal homesickness. Pray that the leaders will be able to provide a welcoming and friendly environment. Thursday 10 February – The CRU Educational Camps team is with St Philip’s Christian College Gosford Year 7 and 8 this week. Please pray that everyone will enjoy the activities at CRU Lake Mac this week and that the gospel will be proclaimed clearly! As Year 8 spend the night outdoors under the stars, pray that the students will enjoy cooking their own food and experiencing a campfire with the leaders. Friday 11 February – Give thanks to God for the many people who financially support the work of CRU West in schools and on camps in WA. Pray that the ministry work will be financially sustainable so that the gospel can continue to be preached and lives changed. Saturday 12 February – Praise God for the CRU Groups and Bible study groups at Abbotsleigh. Pray that the student leaders will lead the groups with joy and be great examples of Christ’s love. Pray that Clare Wimble, Schools Ministry Worker, will be able to encourage the students and chaplains when she visits. Sunday 13 February – Give thanks for the men and women who serve on the many Board Committees, and their faithful work in these areas. Pray that they might continue to lead CRU well, and engage thoughtfully and prayerfully with all the challenges and opportunities that arise. Monday 14 February – Penrith Anglican College Year 11 are at CRU Lake Mac on a CRU Educational Camp this week. Pray that during and in between the study skills and leadership sessions, the leaders will be able to form great relationships with the students and have opportunities for gospel conversations. Tuesday 15 February – Parkes Christian School Year 7 and 8 are on a CRU Educational Camp this week at CRU Lake Mac. Please pray that the students enjoy spending time in God’s beautiful creation, especially while completing many exciting outdoor water activities with the leaders.
Wednesday 16 February – The CRU® Educational Camps team is with Northholm Grammar School Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the campers would enjoy all the planned activities and that the leaders will love and serve the campers in ways that glorify God. Thursday 17 February – Knox Grammar School Year 5 are at CRU Lake Mac for a father and son camp this week. Praise God for such a large booking with close to 300 people! Pray for a great sense of community for those who attend and that it will be a great time of father and son bonding. Friday 18 February – Give thanks for the number of schools partnering with CRU Educational Camps in Term 1. We have 34 different schools joining us. Please pray that we will continue to work alongside each school well to provide their students with fantastic camp experiences and help grow campers in their love and knowledge of Christ. Saturday 19 February – Give thanks for our amazing volunteers who give generously of their time and resources to help out with our many fundraising activities. Praise God for their willingness to help and for their encouragement to us. We are so grateful for them! Sunday 20 February – Pray for Gary Hill as he leads the staff in unity after two years of COVID disruptions including being separated in location with working from home, travel restrictions, and more! Pray that under Gary’s leadership, the staff might work in a united manner to bring glory to the Lord Jesus as the gospel goes out to young people. Monday 21 February – Newington College Year 5 and 6 are joining the Summit team for their CRU Educational Camp at CRU Lake Mac this week. As the students participate in a bivouac program and sleep out in tents, please pray that they will gain a greater appreciation of the outdoors and understand more about our mighty God. Tuesday 22 February – Greenacre Baptist Christian Community School Year 7 and 8 are at CRU Lake Mac on a CRU Educational Camp this week. Praise God for the opportunity to be out on the water with these students. Pray for many gospel conversation opportunities as the students enjoy God’s amazing creation. Wednesday 23 February – The CRU Educational Camps team is with St Paul’s Grammar School Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray that God will grant good weather and safety as they participate in many water activities. Pray that God will be working in the hearts of the campers who attend. Thursday 24 February – Arndell Anglican College Year 7 is on a father and son camp at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for this exciting new booking! Pray that through the various activities, the fathers and sons who attend may be able to strengthen their relationships with one another.
Friday 25 February – Please pray for the new staff in the CRU West team. Pray that they will settle into the team well. Praise God for the provision of more members of this team to be able to support more students at schools in Perth and across WA. Saturday 26 February – Please pray for Dr Tim Wright as he leads the CRU Board as Chair and for all of the Directors as they guide and oversee CRU. Give thanks for the wisdom and skills they bring to their roles and pray they will use their gifts to help CRU to glorify Jesus. Sunday 27 February – Give thanks for Emily Thuaux, who leads the Nowra Christian School Junior CRU Group. Praise God that a large number of students attend this group, and many of them are keen to be trained up as leaders. Pray that this group will continue to be a welcoming place for students to explore who God is and that they will come to understand His great love for them. Monday 28 February – PLC Sydney Year 11 are at CRU Galston Gorge for their CRU Educational Camp this week. Pray for the students as they spend time being equipped with leadership and study skills. Pray that the camp leaders will form great relationships with the students and be granted wisdom to answer any gospel questions they may have.
MARCH Tuesday 1 March – The King’s School Year 5 are joining CRU® Educational Camps for their School camp at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for this new booking and new camp program. Please pray for a smooth camp and that the students will leave camp having a greater understanding of who Jesus is. Wednesday 2 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Tara Anglican School for Girls Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for this exciting new program, and please pray that many mission moments will arise during camp. The team will also be running day programs for Year 12 at their school. As students are equipped with study and leadership skills, pray that they will grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their peers, and consider who Jesus is. Thursday 3 March – Praise God that students from different schools in Perth have the opportunity to gather together at Inter-CRU each term. Pray that these afternoons will greatly encourage the students who attend, particularly those who have no other Christians at their school. Friday 4 March – Trinity Grammar Junior School Year 5 are at CRU Lake Mac this week on a CRU Educational Camp. Please pray for great weather so that campers will enjoy the many outdoor activities planned. Pray that the campers will be receptive to the good news of Jesus. Saturday 5 March – Pray for the autumn CRU Camps season in the upcoming school holidays. Pray that many campers would register for the 12 camps and be eager to enjoy a fun week with exciting activities, supportive leaders and great friends. Ask God that He would be preparing the hearts of the campers who attend, including those who will hear about Jesus for the first time. Sunday 6 March – The CRU Board will meet this month. Please pray for them as they meet, that they will make wise and godly decisions which will allow the gospel to go out with power through CRU. Monday 7 March – St Philip’s Christian College Newcastle Year 9 are joining the CRU Educational Camps team this week at CRU Galston Gorge. Please pray for good weather and safety, especially as they complete a hike
on the Great North Walk and camp out in tents. Pray that the leaders will be godly witnesses and serve the campers in love and humility. Tuesday 8 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Shore Preparatory School Year 3 this week. Please pray that the leaders would model what it means to follow Jesus through their words and actions and that the students will understand more about the hope found in Jesus. The team will also be running a camp for Year 5 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Give thanks for these young people and pray that as they engage in the activities and talks, they would grow in their love and knowledge of God. Wednesday 9 March – St Luke’s Grammar School Year 5 is with the CRU Educational Camps team at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray that great relationships will be formed between the leaders and the students, and that God would open many conversation opportunities as they experience His creation out on the water. Thursday 10 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Macarthur Anglican School Year 3 and 4 at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Pray that the leaders would be filled with energy and enthusiasm as they interact with the campers. Also, pray that the message of the gospel would be clearly preached and understood by these young children. Friday 11 March – Praise God for His continued goodness to the staff based at CRU Galston Gorge and thank God for the job security they have enjoyed by His grace. Give thanks for the variety of work the team have been involved with in keeping the site cared for and looking beautiful for guests. Thank God for the strong bookings we have this term, and praise Him for the strong relationships we have with our returning guests. Saturday 12 March – Praise God that CRU Lake Mac has the opportunity to build connections with the local community. The site employs approximately 25 staff from the local area and works with a range of local suppliers. Please pray that CRU will positively impact those we work with in the community and that God will be glorified through our operations. Sunday 13 March – Praise God for the opportunity to run CRU West’s first Educational Camps this week. Pray for the staff team and leaders, that they will show the love of God to the campers across this week. Praise God for the opportunity to partner with Trinity Theological College students to run this camp. Monday 14 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with The Scots College Year 3, 4 and 5 this week. Pray for the Year 3 students as they attend their first residential camp at CRU Galston Gorge and pray that the leaders will be showing Jesus’ love. Pray that the leaders will form great relationships with the Year 4 students and create a space where great learning and growth can flourish. Pray that the leaders on The Scots College Year 5 camp at CRU Lake Mac will partner well with the teachers and create a fun camp experience for the students.
Tuesday 15 March – Pray for the CRU® Holiday Camp directors as they plan their camps, recruit teams, and prepare for their camp in the upcoming camp season. Give thanks for those who are able to serve in this capacity and for the gifts and talents that God has given them. Give thanks for the many volunteer leaders that lead on CRU Camps. Pray that they will be well-equipped to run excellent camps and be eager to share Jesus with campers. Wednesday 16 March – CRU Lake Mac is one of the best youth camp and conference sites in the country, but we long for it to grow and support camping ministry further. Stage 2 of the Lake Mac redevelopment has been put on hold but, if God allows, we are hoping to finish the site as soon as possible. Please pray for financial success and support to enable the completion of the full site master plan. Thursday 17 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Northern Beaches Christian School Year 5 and 6 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the students and teachers will enjoy the planned activities and ask that God will be preparing the hearts of the campers as they learn more about what it means to have Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Friday 18 March – Over 300 guests will be attending the CRU Business Lunch today at The Fullerton Hotel with guest speaker, Rev Timothy Bowden (Headmaster at Trinity Grammar School). Pray that guests will be encouraged as they hear how God has been working through CRU to bring many young people to faith on camps and in schools. Please pray that guests will give generously to support this vital work. Saturday 19 March – Give thanks that Kellie Thomson, Schools Ministry Worker, has made a strong connection with the Illawarra Christian School and that we’re seeing more students attending CRU Holiday Camps from this school. Please pray that the Senior School CRU Group will be a place where students will grow in their faith. Sunday 20 March – Please keep praying for Gary, senior staff and the Board as they consider what might be the next steps for Stage 2 of the Lake Mac Redevelopment, and the timing of these. Pray that they might have clarity in their decision making. Monday 21 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with St Philip’s Christian College Newcastle Year 3 and 4 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray that the students would enjoy completing many exciting activities and grow in their understanding of who Jesus is. Tuesday 22 March – Thank God for the Fundraising team who work tirelessly to resource CRU’s ministry. Give thanks for the skills and experience God has granted them with, and pray for wisdom and creativity as the team undertakes various projects and events. Wednesday 23 March – William Clarke College Year 7 are at CRU Lake Mac with the CRU Educational Camps team this week. With many campers and
a big camp program, please pray that the leaders and teachers will partner well with each other to run a smooth and enjoyable camp for the students. Thursday 24 March – Give thanks for Arden Anglican School Year 4 as they join the CRU Educational Camps team at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Pray that they would enjoy their time in God’s creation and pray that the Summit trainees would build good relationships with the students this week. Arden Anglican School Year 6 are at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray for the leaders as they seek to be godly witnesses to the campers. Friday 25 March – Give thanks to God for Christian teachers and chaplains in schools in WA. Please pray that God will place more gospel-minded staff in schools, especially in school chaplaincy and senior management, to allow and facilitate the ministry of CRU amongst school students. Saturday 26 March – Praise God for Chloe*, in Year 4, who has grown up going to church, but on a CRU Educational Camp, was challenged to read the Bible for herself. She started reading the book of Mark, and one week after camp, she was very pleased to share that she was already up to Mark Chapter 3. Praise God that through camp and the encouragement of leaders, she decided to put her faith into action! Sunday 27 March – Give thanks for chaplains David Hayman and Rowena Geradts and for the work that they do at Southern Highlands Christian School. The school has a vibrant CRU Group, and students regularly attend FIT (a CRU Group training day for students in Years 5-6). Pray that these students will be passionate about leading others for the Lord. Give thanks that there are students in the Senior School who are willing to lead the Junior CRU Group as well. Monday 28 March – Give thanks for the work of the Holy Spirit in Gary Hill’s life, granting him new life in Christ and transforming him to be more like Jesus. Pray that God will continue to be at work in Gary’s life and grant him encouragement and energy in his leadership of CRU. Tuesday 29 March – CRU Educational Camps will be running a day program for Barker College Pre-K to Year 1 at their school this week. Pray that the leaders will be filled with joy and enthusiasm as they run activities and share the gospel in a simple and clear way for this age group. Wednesday 30 March – Oxford Falls Grammar School Year 11 are joining CRU Educational Camps for a leadership and study skills camp at CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the students will be well-equipped and experience personal growth so that they may apply these skills when they return to school or in other areas of their lives. Thursday 31 March – The CRU Educational Camps team will be with Roseville College Year 5 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray for good weather out on the lake and for safety as they participate in many water activities. APRIL Friday 1 April – Northcross Christian School Year 3 and 4 are on a CRU® Educational Camp at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Please pray that the students will experience great personal growth as they participate in camp activities, that they will learn more about themselves, and understand how much God cares for them. Saturday 2 April – Pray for preparations for our annual June EOFY Appeal which will be delivered to CRU supporters in May and June. Please ask that those who receive it will be generous in their support so more young people can hear the good news of Jesus. Sunday 3 April – Calrossy Anglican School Year 7 is at CRU Lake Mac for their CRU Educational Camp this week. Please pray for a warm sense of community on camp and grow in their relationships with one another. Pray that the leaders will have many gospel conversation opportunities with the students. Monday 4 April – Give thanks that the CRU Schools Ministry Associates were able to visit the Wenona CRU Groups on a regular basis last year and build some great relationships with the students. Pray that the group continues to be fruitful this year and that we’ll see more Wenona girls at the CRU Groups and on CRU Camps in the future. Tuesday 5 April – Praise God for the opportunity to run a CRU Educational Camp for Abbotsleigh Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for this brand-new booking and new camp program. Please pray for a smooth running of the camp as it is a big camp with various logistics to navigate. Pray that the students will have a great and enjoyable experience. Wednesday 6 April – Covenant Christian School Year 7 are at CRU Lake Mac with the CRU Educational Camps team this week. Praise God for the opportunity to be out on the water and in enjoying God’s creation. Pray that the students who attend will grow in their relationship with God. Thursday 7 April – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Belmont Christian College Year 7 at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Please pray that the Summit leaders will be prayerful throughout camp and will do all things for the glory of God as they seek to serve him. The team will also be with
Year 8 this week. Please pray for safety as they hike and sleep in tents, and pray for a smooth program given there are lots of logistics to navigate through on this camp. Friday 8 April – Pray for the lunchtime groups of Christian students who meet in public schools in Perth. Praise God for the student leaders who coordinate these groups, and pray they will be faithful and servant-hearted as they lead their peers. Pray for the CRU West team as they encourage and support these students. Saturday 9 April – Give thanks for Autumn Study 1 and 2 being held at CRU Galston Gorge and CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the Year 12 students will be able to get a good head start on their HSC and IB study and develop good study habits to help them through the rest of the year. Pray that the discussion groups would be a great time for students to ask questions and receive faithful answers. Sunday 10 April – Please ask the Lord of the harvest to provide the workers needed to enable His ministry to continue to thrive at CRU Galston Gorge. Please ask God to provide cleaning staff, activity staff and catering team members who will love to serve long term in this ministry. Monday 11 April – CRU Pulse Day Camp is happening at Rouse Hill Anglican College this week for students in Years K-6. Praise God for this great opportunity to partner with this school. Pray that the Junior Leaders on this camp will step up and learn great leadership skills and as a result of camp grow in their relationship with God. Tuesday 12 April – Give thanks for Brightwaters that is being held at CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the campers will make new friends and have meaningful conversations with the leaders. Please also pray for good weather and safety as campers enjoy lake activities such as water skiing, wakeboarding and tubing. Wednesday 13 April – Pray for a fun and safe time on Pumped at CRU Lake Mac this week, especially as the campers spend time on the water. Give thanks for Emma Duggan and the team of volunteer leaders, and pray for them as they seek to know and look after all the campers. Thursday 14 April – Praise God for Autumn Trails. Pray that the girls who attend this camp will have a fantastic week of sisterhood and friendship, while having the opportunity to hear more about Jesus. Please pray for safety as they ride horses during the camp. Please also pray for On Two Wheels. Pray for safety and protection when riding the dirt bikes and ask that God will be stirring the hearts of campers as they learn more about Jesus. Friday 15 April – Give thanks for CRU Quest in WA, and pray for all the kids and leaders on camp. Please pray for good weather for all the fun activities planned in this holiday camp. Ask that God strengthen the leaders as they engage with campers and share Jesus with them.
Saturday 16 April – Praise God for Matthew*, in Year 8, who came on a CRU® Educational Camp. After testimony sharing at the campfire, he shared with a leader that he would love to grow more in his knowledge of who Jesus is and own his faith for himself. The next day, Matthew made the decision to recommit his life to following Jesus. Pray that Matthew may continue to grow in his faith while being back at school and at home. Sunday 17 April – Give thanks that last year Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College saw their Junior CRU Group grow with over 100 students attending each week. Pray that Anna Owen, Schools Ministry Worker, will be able to encourage the students, teachers and chaplains. Monday 18 April – Praise God for a new CRU Educational Camps opportunity! The team will be with the Danii Foundation at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for the opportunity to run an exciting getaway for parents and kids who have diabetes. Tuesday 19 April – Please pray for Autumn Study 3 this week, that many students will attend this camp and be encouraged to consider the claims of Christ. Pray that the Year 12 students will be productive in their studies and that the skills learnt on camp will prepare them for a great year ahead. Wednesday 20 April – Give thanks for Club Mac at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray that the campers will have a great time out on the water, have fun participating in all the different activities, and that there will be great friendships made on the camp. Pray that the campers will recognise God’s love for them and be open to chatting about what Jesus means for them. Thursday 21 April – Pray for Autumn Adventure at CRU Galston Gorge this week, that the campers will enjoy all the planned activities and make new friends. Pray also that the talks, discussion groups, and interactions with leaders will be fruitful and God-glorifying. Friday 22 April – Praise God for the team on Aussie Adventure and the way they provide the campers with a great experience every time. Please pray for great weather as the campers enjoy some Aussie bush adventures. Saturday 23 April – Please pray for safety on Dirtbike as the campers ride the bikes, and thank God for the mechanics who work so hard to keep the bikes in good condition. Pray that the talks will engage the campers and initiate some great discussion this week. Sunday 24 April – Please pray that God might grant the men and women serving on the CRU Board knowledge of His will, through the wisdom and understanding of the Spirit, that they may live lives worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in every way. Monday 25 April – Pray for the new lunchtime CRU Groups that have started recently in Western Australian schools. Pray that the teachers and student leaders who run these groups will be encouraged by this *Name changed for confidentiality reasons
experience. Pray that students will have opportunities to invite their friends along to hear the gospel. Tuesday 26 April – Pray for the Camps Committee and give thanks they are willing to partner in this ministry of CRU Camps. Pray that God will work in their lives, give them strength and bless them as they continue to serve. Pray for wisdom and creativity as they plan for the future of CRU Camps. Wednesday 27 April – Praise God for the opportunity the CRU Educational Camps team have to run a camp for Northcross Christian School Year 5 and 6 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray for safety on the water and for a great time at night enjoying a campfire – pray that the leader testimonies will stir the hearts of the campers to consider how God is at work in their lives. Thursday 28 April – Shire Christian School Year 8 are at CRU Galston Gorge this week with the CRU Educational Camps team. Pray that campers will enjoy the planned activities and that the camp will run smoothly. Pray that the Summit trainees will experience great joy working as a united team and serving God faithfully throughout camp. Friday 29 April – Give thanks for the CRU staff who work behind the scenes in various roles: Accounts, Payroll, Marketing, Fundraising, Operations, HR and IT. Praise God for equipping them with unique skills and experience as they work to support the frontline ministry of CRU. Saturday 30 April – Pray for Bailey Troost, Schools Ministry Worker, as he supports the teachers and chaplains who run the CRU Groups at Nepean Christian School. Give thanks for the Senior CRU Group and pray that it will continue to grow in number and that more and more students will come to know Jesus through this group.
MAY Sunday 1 May – Pray for the CRU® Board as they meet later this month. Give thanks for the men and women who serve on the Board, and for their love of the gospel. Pray that the decisions they make will enable the gospel to be proclaimed through the work of CRU, that Jesus might be glorified. Monday 2 May – Toongabbie Christian College Year 8 is at CRU Galston Gorge this week with the CRU Educational Camp team. Please pray for safety as they hike along part of the Great North Walk and sleep in tents, and pray that the logistics and camp program will run smoothly. Pray also that many fruitful conversations will be had during the hikes. Year 7 will also be having a camp at CRU Galston Gorge. Please pray that the students will form new and stronger friendships with their peers. Tuesday 3 May – Please pray for our guests at CRU Galston Gorge. As we welcome guests from all areas of the community, pray that they would be confident to come to camp and that their camps would run smoothly and safely. Pray that more groups will book camps at our sites. Wednesday 4 May – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Danebank Anglican School for Girls Year 6 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray that the students will enjoy spending time away from the classroom and that they will leave camp wanting to know God more. Thursday 5 May – William Carey Christian School Year 11 will be attending a leadership and study skills CRU Educational Camp at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Pray that it will be a great time of personal growth for the students who attend. Pray that the students will be encouraged as they interact with the Summit trainees. Friday 6 May – St Philip’s Christian College Newcastle Year 7 are with the CRU Educational Camps team at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for the opportunity to be out on the water and surrounded by God’s amazing creation. Pray that as a result of the camp, the students who attend will grow in their faith and seek to live wholly for Christ. Saturday 7 May – Please pray that God will give wisdom, love and humility to each member of the CRU West Committee. Pray that they will be united and work well as a team so that Jesus will be honoured in all they do.
Sunday 8 May – Praise God that the boys at Shore Preparatory School were able to meet in their CRU Group online last year. Pray for the teachers at Shore Prep as they continue to lead the CRU Group. Give thanks that Pete, the Director of Schools Ministry, can support the school and pray that he will be able to encourage the students and teachers as they meet together. Monday 9 May – The CRU Educational Camps team is with St Luke’s Grammar School Year 6 camp at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Please pray that great relationships will be built between the leaders and the students, and that they will have many opportunities for good conversations as they complete fun activities. Tuesday 10 May – Australian Christian College Year 8 are at CRU Galston Gorge this week on a CRU Educational Camp. Please pray that as the students participate in activities and share mealtimes with the leaders, there will be opportunities for fruitful conversations with the campers. Wednesday 11 May – CRU Educational Camps is running the Barker College Year 4 camp this week. Praise God for such a big and exciting camp with lots of gospel opportunities. Pray that the students on camp will have softened hearts and have a thirst to learn more about our great God. Thursday 12 May – Please pray for Pacific Hills Christian School Year 4, who is with the CRU Educational Camps team at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for this opportunity and pray that the students will grow in their understanding of who God is and be inspired to live like Jesus after camp. Friday 13 May – Scots All Saints College Year 6 are at CRU Lake Mac this week on a CRU Educational Camp. Please pray for the students as they participate in various new activities and experiences, both on the water and on land. Pray that they may have the courage to step out of their comfort zone and experience great growth. Saturday 14 May – Pray for the camp directors and leaders of upcoming CRU West camps. Please pray for the leaders as they plan and prepare, and pray that the Bible will be taught in an engaging and faithful manner on the camps. Sunday 15 May – Give thanks for the work that Jen Boulden and Tim Robinson do at Knox Preparatory School. Pray that the CRU Group would see more Year 6 students attend on a regular basis and pray that Nigel Vaux, Schools Ministry Worker, will be able to be a great encouragement and support to them this year.
