ANNUAL REPORT
In Psalm 78:4, we read:
“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.”
But why?
It’s because God is worthy. The Psalmist continues the reflection on God… “His strength, and the wonders he has done”. God is powerful beyond measure and has done amazing things.
But wait, there’s more!
We tell the next generation, even those not yet born (v.6), so they may know who God is as they learn of His praiseworthy deeds.
And why does that matter?
So they can tell the next generation, who, having been told, will place their confidence in God, remember who He is, and obey Him (v.7).
One generation tells, so they tell, so the third generation knows and obeys God.
The remainder of Psalm 78 (another 65 verses!) recounts the failure of previous generations. Despite God’s guiding hand, His patience, warnings, and acts of judgment, they did not pass on the news. They failed to tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord. Verse 42 declares, “They did not remember what He had done.”
You can’t tell what you do not remember!
Despite Israel’s situation, the psalmist writes with hope. There is still good news to declare, and still a “next generation” alive to hear it. God has rescued and shepherded His people — another reminder of His praiseworthy deeds. The psalm concludes by pointing us to another shepherd, King David, whom God chose to care for His people.
As Christians, we are all called to tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord. We must not forget. We must remember. And we must tell.
Of God, our great rescuer and shepherd.
Of Jesus Christ, the great shepherd, the even better David. His life, death, and resurrection are the most praiseworthy deeds of all, for which He deserves all glory, honour, and praise.
This is the news we must tell the next generation, and the one after, and the one after that.
That’s why this Annual Report matters. It’s not just a collection of numbers. This is a record of God’s praiseworthy deeds over the past year. This is evidence of His work through CRU, and a reminder of the mission we share: to tell the next generation, so they too may know Him, trust Him, and tell the next generation!
Thank you for being part of this mission.

The State of the Union
Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel!
In 2024–25, God enabled CRU to reach more than 123,000 young people. In line with our new Strategic Plan, CRU Educational Camps have grown significantly, and we anticipate further expansion following the completion of Stage 2 of the Lake Mac redevelopment. We continue to pray for and invest in rebuilding holiday camps in NSW, which remain below pre-COVID peak numbers.
Our Schools Ministry continues to support over 200 schools across NSW and ACT, while CRU West engages with over 50 schools. This year, compared to last, we saw 800 additional students involved in lunchtime CRU groups across NSW, ACT, and WA each week. Across all ministry areas, more than 1,100 students indicated a faith commitment or recommitment in 2024–25. Praise God!
Supporting these ministries, Galston and Lake Mac occupancy has continued to rise, driven by growth in Guest Group bookings and CRU Educational Camps usage.

Repairs and Maintenance costs rose substantially (79.6%) due to unexpected costs including fire safety work and storm damage repairs. Insurance continues to be a costly area, rising by 6.9%. In line with labour market changes, staff costs rose by 9.6%. Finance costs decreased by 8.7%.
Thank you to those who have given sacrificially towards Stage 2 of the Lake Mac redevelopment. While not fully funded, we are thankful for the progress to date. Of the anticipated $13.7M cost of build, $9.5M is to be funded by borrowings through loans and offset facilities set up, and $4.2M to be funded by donations, of which $760k has been received at the end of the financial year.
We praise God for you - the CRU community - for your encouragement, generosity, and prayerfulness. In His mercy, He is using your gifts to grow His kingdom. We continue to see His grace transforming young lives, and for that, we are deeply thankful.

The State of the Union
