May to September
MAY Wednesday 1 May – Shire Christian School Year 10 is joining the Summit Team at Galston this week. Please pray that throughout camp, these students will be able to understand the love and grace of God and who Jesus is. Pray that they will enjoy community with each other and the leaders as the week progresses. Thursday 2 May – Give thanks for the hundreds of volunteers who serve on camps and in schools across NSW, ACT and WA. Praise God that they are generous with their time and energy, and long to share Jesus with the next generation. Friday 3 May – Kuyper Christian School Years 7 and 8 are at Lake Mac this week with Summit. Pray that the campers have a positive attitude towards the activities, are keen to hear more about God, and will be challenged by what they hear. Saturday 4 May – Pray for the annual Tax Appeal, which is raising funds to redevelop the Lake Mac campsite. Please pray that those who receive a request will be generous in their support so that an extra 20,000 kids can be reached for Jesus on Lake Mac camps each year! Sunday 5 May – Give thanks for the men and women who serve on the many Board and Management Committees. Pray that, as they serve in this way, they might lead CRU® ministries to continue to proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus and so glorify God. Monday 6 May – Give thanks for the many committed Christian teachers at Covenant Christian School. Praise God that the junior group that started in 2018 has had a
full classroom of primary students attending. Pray for the Year 6 students who are involved in running the group. Tuesday 7 May – Year 7 from William Clarke College is with Summit this week. Pray that the talks and discussion groups would allow the campers to delve more deeply into God’s Word and be challenged by what they learn. Please also pray that the students would enjoy all the planned activities. Wednesday 8 May – Please pray for safety as the Lake Mac Redevelopment project continues. Pray that the builders and workers on the site will stay safe and that there will be no accidents. Please also pray that there will be no safety issues on the campsite side of the site while the project is underway. Thursday 9 May – Summit is running a camp for William Carey Christian School Year 11 at Galston this week. Pray that the team would be able to build relationships quickly with the students, and ask God for many opportunities to have fruitful discussions as they learn new study and leadership skills. Friday 10 May – Pray for the Summit Team as their camp load lightens during this time. Pray for the team to be productive with off-camp jobs and training. Pray that the team will be energised and that God would provide them with opportunities for rest and refreshment. Saturday 11 May – Pray for the Inter-CRU® events that are being established in the Illawarra and Newcastle regions this year. Ask God that CRU would build good relationships with the hosting schools and for many students to attend and be encouraged in fellowship with Christians from other schools. Sunday 12 May – Praise God for the new Fellows who have joined Summit this year! Praise God for His provision in this way, and pray that He would be using them powerfully to glorify His name. Monday 13 May – Pray for CRU West’s Partnership Dinner, which is being held tonight. Pray that the many who attend will be encouraged as they hear about CRU’s ministry in Perth schools, and that God will raise up many prayer and financial supporters as a result of the evening.
Tuesday 14 May - Praise God for the enjoyment students have been experiencing on the new indoor high ropes course at Galston. Please pray for a successful completion of the new solar energy saving project in June. Wednesday 15 May Praise God for the Lakes Grammar Year 8 camp held at Lake Mac this week. Pray that God would keep the Summit Team and the campers safe as they complete many activities and spend time on the water. Thursday 16 May - Praise God for providing the necessary funding for the Lake Mac Redevelopment project. Give thanks particularly for Baptist Financial Services and their willingness to partner with us in this exciting phase of growth. Friday 17 May - Praise God for the opportunity to run a Summit day camp for St Peter’s Anglican Primary School for Years 1 and 2 today. Pray that the leaders show Christ’s love as they care for these young campers on this day camp at school! Saturday 18 May – Pray for the Lake Mac Team as they continue to run the site while construction is underway. Pray for perseverance and flexibility to deal with challenges as they arise. As we move through the project, please pray for continued bookings, that groups and schools will not be inconvenienced by the building and that the site will still be a place where Christian community can be experienced. Sunday 19 May - Please pray for Dr Tim Wright as he leads the Crusader Board as Chair. Pray also for Helen Burgess (Deputy Chair) and Santino Dimarco (Treasurer). Give thanks for their love for Jesus, and the way this guides them in their hard work for CRU®. Please pray that God will help them stand firm in the Lord. Monday 20 May - Give thanks for the generous families who give a donation when they book their child on camp. We are thankful that this money enables us to bless other families who may be struggling to send their child on camp for various reasons.
Tuesday 21 May - St Paul’s Grammar School Years 8 and 9 are having a camp at Lake Mac this week. Pray for Jesus to be made known through the discussion groups that the Summit leaders run on camp and that the students will have strengthened relationships with their peers. Wednesday 22 May - Please pray for good progress with the Lake Mac Redevelopment project. Pray that the weather will be kind and will not interfere with work, and ask God that no other issues will arise that might cause the project to be delayed. Thursday 23 May - Summit are running a camp for Northcross Christian School Years 3 and 4 at Galston this week. Pray that the students will have a great camp where they learn more about themselves, build friendships with their classmates and grow in their love and knowledge of God. Friday 24 May - Pray for the Inter-CRU® event that is happening at Emmaus Christian School today. Ask God for great fellowship and that the students will grow in their understanding of God’s love for them. Saturday 25 May - Give thanks for the Inter-CRU event that happened at Kambala yesterday. Praise God for His love that unites the students and pray that they will continue to encourage one another to be bold in their schools. Sunday 26 May - Pray for the entire Administration Team in this time of increased workload due to the Lake Mac capital project. Pray especially for Matt Seidl as he leads this project and Nigel Glasby as he supports Matt and manages the cashflows for the project. Thank God for the way that these men use their skills to serve at CRU. Monday 27 May - Pray that many volunteers would be willing to help raise support and share the exciting news about the Lake Mac Redevelopment at their churches and schools in 2019. Ask God that many people would be moved to support CRU’s plans for Lake Mac. Tuesday 28 May - Pray for the groups that are currently meeting in Perth schools to read the Bible together. Ask God to speak by His Spirit through His Word to each person who attends, that each may grow in a deepening trust in the Lord Jesus. Pray also for those who pray for these school groups, that they will continue to meet and persevere in this ministry.
Wednesday 29 May - Please pray for many suitable candidates for our mid-year Summit Fellow intake. Pray that God will raise up passionate and enthusiastic people for these positions. Pray for James Carroll and other Summit staff as they conduct interviews. Ask God for wisdom and guidance during the hiring process. Thursday 30 May - Please pray for the Divisional Heads as they meet today. Give thanks for the men and women who are in these roles, and give thanks for the way God has equipped them for their tasks. Pray that they might make wise decisions as they lead CRU’s various divisions. Friday 31 May - Praise God for Jasmine*, in Year 5, who participated in discussion groups on her Summit Camp and asked lots of questions about God. Praise God that she decided to become a Christian on the last day of camp! Praise God that during camp, she learnt so much about God and was keen to take a devotional home to continue her learning.
JUNE Saturday 1 June - Pray for VOLT Winter, the pre-season training day for CRUÂŽ Camp volunteers, which is taking place today. Pray this will be a great day connecting with the wider CRU community and that the volunteers will be well equipped to run excellent camps this season. Sunday 2 June - Pray for effective communication with the Federal Government and other grant bodies who have pledged to the Lake Mac Redevelopment. Pray that we would be able to provide timely progress reports which satisfy the administrative requirements for each grant. *Name changed for confidentiality reasons
Monday 3 June - Praise God for His generous heart and that He is the great provider! Thank God for His plentiful provision that has allowed the ministry of CRU® West to grow quickly over a short amount of time. Thank Him for the provision of two staff workers; finances; enthusiastic and keen people to run prayer groups and Bible study groups in schools; and a growing number of volunteers to run our camps. Tuesday 4 June - Pray for fundraising efforts as we seek to raise the final amount needed to fund Stage 1 of the Lake Mac Redevelopment. Pray for the fundraising team as they share the vision of the new Lake Mac with CRU supporters and the wider community. Wednesday 5 June - Pray for Viv Yu in his first year as a Schools Ministry Associate, that God will equip him with ministry skills and knowledge and that God will use Viv to share His good news in schools and on camps. Thursday 6 June - For Mosman Preparatory School, thank God for Garry Brown’s leadership of the school and pray for the new Head as he starts in Term 3. Thank God for the chaplain, Daryl Diener, and for all the boys who are attending the CRU School Groups and Bible studies. Friday 7 June - Pray that the Summit Team will have good partnerships with the many schools, teachers and different campsite workers. Pray that they will be able to share God’s message of hope with all their contacts. Saturday 8 June - Pray for the CRU Camps team as they communicate with leaders, directors, parents and campers. Pray that all the conversations they have will be helpful and encouraging. Sunday 9 June - Praise God for the opportunity the Summit leaders have to help students step outside their comfort zone and overcome their fears. Praise God that Emily*, while on her Year 7 camp, was encouraged to tackle her fear of heights and participated in abseiling even though she was hesitant to do so. Monday 10 June - Please pray for Gary Hill (Executive Director) as he leads CRU in this time of growth with the redevelopment of Lake Mac. Pray particularly for Gary as he frequently visits Lake Mac, that God will protect him as he travels. Ask that God will grant Gary and Matt Seidl (Director of Properties) great wisdom as they lead CRU in this project.
Tuesday 11 June - Pray for Dan Perrott in Schools Ministry as he writes next year’s CRUŽ resource on the book of Colossians. Pray for wisdom and creativity as he opens up the message of Colossians to youth and children. Wednesday 12 June - The students from Danebank Anglican School for Girls Year 4 are at Galston with the Summit leaders this week. Please pray for great relationships to be built during camp, for many gospel conversation opportunities, and that the kids will be able to understand who God is. Thursday 13 June - Praise God for the opportunity the Summit leaders have to provide students with the comfort and truth of the gospel during challenging times in their lives. Praise God that Anna*, in Year 4, was able to sit down with her leader and share some difficulties in her life. Her leader was able to share about the abundant love of our heavenly Father, providing Anna with joy and comfort as she heard this news. Friday 14 June - Thank God for the Finance Team and all that they do for the organisation. Pray particularly for Karl Winter as he balances life as a grandfather, father and husband, together with his work at both CRU and as chairman of an Anglican school. Saturday 15 June - Pray for the Camps Committee members and give thanks that they are willing to serve CRU in this way. Ask God to give them wisdom as they think strategically and forward plan for CRU Camps. Sunday 16 June - Give thanks for the Fundraising Team who seek to glorify God by encouraging supporters to resource His work at CRU. Pray that God would continue to inspire and sustain the team. Monday 17 June - Please pray for the Crusader Board as they meet today. Give thanks for the men and women who serve on the Crusader Board, and their love of the Lord Jesus. Pray that they might continue to stand firm in their faith, and pray that they will make wise and godly decisions as they lead CRU. Tuesday 18 June - Praise God for Nathan* in Year 4 who, on his Summit school camp, was so interested in learning more about God that he asked his leader many questions during dinner. Praise God for this unique opportunity to share the gospel around a meal. *Name changed for confidentiality reasons
Wednesday 19 June - Praise God for the opportunity to run Arden Anglican School’s Year 3 camp this week. Please pray for good weather so the students can enjoy the activities and that the Summit leaders would share the gospel message in a way that is easily understood by the students. Thursday 20 June - Northern Beaches Christian School Year 3 are joining the Summit Team for their school camp this week. Please pray that the students would participate in activities enthusiastically and that they would understand who Jesus is and what he has done. Friday 21 June - Pray for the Administration Team as they prepare for the end of the fiscal year and in particular Sue Lay as she finalises payment summaries for everyone. We thank God for Sue and all the work she does for CRU®. Saturday 22 June - Give great thanks for Hope Point Christian School’s involvement in Followers in Training (FIT), a leadership training event for Year 5 and 6 students, this year. Also thank God for the school’s commitment to reach parents, as well as children, with the Bible. Sunday 23 June - Give thanks for the staff at Oran Park Anglican College who run two CRU Groups in the school and have loved having students attend CRU’s FIT training events. Monday 24 June - Give thanks for the student leaders who help lead the K-3 and Years 4-6 CRU School Groups each week at Mamre Anglican School. Pray for their continued passion to serve God in this way and ask God to continue growing them in their love and knowledge of Him. Tuesday 25 June - Give thanks for the various CRU School Groups that meet at St Philip’s Christian College Port Stephens each week. Pray that God will sustain them and grow them in faith and number. Wednesday 26 June Give thanks for the junior and senior CRU School Groups at Nowra Anglican College and for the work that Andrew Dane and Debra Baker do in growing and sustaining the groups under God’s care.
Thursday 27 June - Pray that God would inspire supporters to give to the Lake Mac Redevelopment Tax Appeal so that an extra 20,000 campers can be reached for Christ each year. Pray that God will provide the right circumstances to enable supporters to give generously towards building His kingdom. Friday 28 June - Pray for the winter CRUÂŽ Camps season. Pray for approximately 1,500 campers and 400 volunteers who will be on almost 30 camps. Ask God for safety on the activity-intense camps and pray for great productivity for the students attending the many study camps. Saturday 29 June - Pray for Seb Lane and the team leading Winter Study 1 camp at Galston this week. Pray that over 170 students will be able to prepare well for their trial exams, while also maintaining their physical and mental health during the HSC period. Sunday 30 June - Pray for Ryan Betbeder and the Winter Study 2 camp he is directing this week. Pray that the students will be productive and organised for their exams. Ask that as they hear about Jesus on camp, seeds would be planted and their hearts would be changed.
JULY Monday 1 July – Pray for Kristy and the team as they look after the young campers on Country Breakout this week. Pray the campers will have lots of fun enjoying the outdoors, marvelling at God’s creation, and recognising Him as the mighty creator of all. Tuesday 2 July – Pray for the new CRU® Camp, Velocity. This high energy camp has lots of activities, including quad bikes. Please ask God that the campers would have a great week on camp, and pray for safety and protection while they are doing their activities. Wednesday 3 July - The Summit leaders are running a camp for St Peter’s Anglican Primary School Year 6 this week. Praise God for the opportunity to take the students to various places throughout Canberra, Jindabyne and even the snow! Please pray for safety and fruitful gospel conversations on the long bus rides. Thursday 4 July - Pray for the student CRU School Group leaders who serve and guide their peers and younger students. Pray that God’s Word would impact their lives and change them to be more like Jesus as they serve in their schools. Friday 5 July - Praise God for the continued service of the Lake Mac Fundraising Committee, chaired by David Braga. Thank God for the wisdom and gifts that each member brings.
Saturday 6 July - Praise God for Lillian Buchholz and the team on Winter Study 3 camp at Galston. Pray for the free time campers have, that great conversations will be had and the amazing hope of Jesus will be instilled in the hearts of the students. Thank God for Winter Study 4, a smaller camp. Give thanks that there is a great sense of community on this camp. Sunday 7 July - Praise God for the snow and that we can enjoy the slopes on ski camps: Snow Mania, Powerhounds and Shred Thredbo. Pray for safety on these camps, both on the snow and while travelling each day. Pray for great bus and chairlift conversations, ask God that the evening talks will be clear, and that the campers will respond in faith. Give thanks for the instructors who teach the campers new skills on the snow and challenge them to try something new. Monday 8 July - Give thanks for Supaweek Day Camp at St Paul’s Castle Hill. Pray that many kids from the local area will come along, have an amazing time on camp, and be able to be connected with St Paul’s after camp. Also, praise God for Nathan Riley’s long service on Adrenalin Rush. Thank God for this camp, for the many different activities the campers get to do and the way the gospel is faithfully taught on camp. Tuesday 9 July - Give thanks for CRU® Edge Day Camp as it continues to grow at St Jude’s Anglican Church in Randwick. Pray for the church community to support the camp and for the campers to have a great week where they can hear about God’s promises. Wednesday 10 July - Please pray for Winter Study 5. Give thanks for the great facilities including the study hall overlooking the lake. Pray that these beautiful surrounds will produce some productive work this week. Also, praise God for the Easyriders team, led by Katie and Iain Martyn, as they share Jesus with the campers and help them learn how to ride the dirt bikes. Thank God for the service of those who spend much time and energy maintaining the tracks.
Thursday 11 July - Give thanks for CRÜTech and the team that sets up all the computers and hardware to create a camp full of amazing activities. Friday 12 July - Praise God for Mountain Odyssey that is running this week. Thank God for the Blue Mountains and the amazing scenery and nature that the campers can experience on this unique camp. Pray that the campers have a great time and are able to consider where they stand before God. Saturday 13 July - Pray for Winter Study 6 at Galston, that many students will come along ready to study well and investigate the claims of Jesus. Pray that they will ask many questions and have them answered in a clear and faithful way. Pray for Winter Study 7 at Yarramundi. Praise God for the committed team who prepare so well for this camp each year and are so intentional in sharing the gospel with the campers. Sunday 14 July - Praise God for Shred Hotham and the privilege it is to run this camp right on the slopes. Also, pray for Winter Escape and the way the campers can enjoy the Lake Mac campsite, even in winter. Pray that the campers on both camps will consider the hope that is found in Jesus. Monday 15 July - Give thanks for Super CRU® Day Camp at Macarthur and the way it allows us to connect with the locals from this area of Sydney. Praise God for the strong relationship we have with the school and the way local churches partner with us in providing leaders and connecting campers and families to churches after camp. Tuesday 16 July - Pray for Cool CRU Day Camp, a new camp at Mosman Preparatory School. Pray that it will be a great holiday entertainment option for this community and kids will enjoy hearing about how much Jesus loves them. Pray for the Year 11 Study Skills camp, that students would leave feeling confident in tackling the HSC. Wednesday 17 July - Pray for the Perth Study Camp this year. Thank God for the large number of leaders willing to serve and use their skills and qualifications to provide such a professional, high quality camp experience. Pray that campers will have a productive time of study, and precious time in God’s Word. Pray for energy and grace as the leadership team share their faith and their lives with the students.
Thursday 18 July - Give thanks for CRUŽ Create, a creative arts camp. Praise God for the variety of creative arts we can offer because of leaders with different skills who are willing to lead on this camp. Pray the final show will be a great display to parents and carers of what the campers achieved on camp. Friday 19 July - Please pray for Dirt Action, a great dirt bike camp. Pray for safety on the bikes and give thanks for the mechanics who maintain the bikes in an optimal condition. Praise God for Adrenalin Action, giving thanks for this unique camp that attracts all kinds of campers. Pray that the kids on this camp will enjoy the different activities and have the capacity to concentrate when hearing about Jesus. Saturday 20 July - Pray for the campers who have experienced difficult living circumstances or challenging backgrounds, some without parents. Ask that camp will be a respite for them, and that it will be a safe space they can enjoy while hearing about a Father who loves them unconditionally. Sunday 21 July - Praise God for our Summit Fellow midyear intake which commences tomorrow. Thank God for His provision of new team members and pray that the new Summit Fellows will feel welcomed, and that together in Christ, old and new Fellows will be united. Pray that they will be trained well and that they will grow in their leadership and biblical skills during their time here. Monday 22 July - Thank God for CRU on the Cove Day Camp at Belmont. Please pray that the campers will have an amazing time on camp, enjoying all the different activities, making new friends, and learning about Jesus. Tuesday 23 July - Pray for CRU Blast Day Camp and the many years this camp has run since CRU Day Camps began. Praise God that kids look forward to this camp each winter, and pray that God will prepare their hearts to hear the good news of Jesus. Wednesday 24 July - Give thanks for the Crusader Board meeting that was held on Monday and for the Directors who sacrifice their time and energy to serve faithfully. Pray that the decisions made for CRU’s ministry will bring glory to God. Thursday 25 July - Please pray for the mid-year intake of Summit Fellows as they go on camp during Term 3. Pray
that they will remember all they were trained in and that they will also experience personal growth as God works both in and through them. Friday 26 July - Praise God for the bookings made at our Galston campsite. Pray that we may continue to trust in God’s provision and that He would continue to use our campsite to make Himself known to our guests. Saturday 27 July - Praise God for the teachers and chaplains who run CRU® Groups each week. Give thanks for the time and energy that they put into preparing for the groups. Sunday 28 July - Pray for the new budgeting period. Pray that God guides our thoughts as we plan for the upcoming year. Monday 29 July - Pray for CRU’s Executive Director, Gary Hill, that God will uphold him as he works. Pray that God will grant him great wisdom and time management as he undertakes all the tasks laid before him. Tuesday 30 July - Praise God for the opportunity the Summit Team have to go on a retreat as a team this week. During this time, the team will be able to encourage one another in their faith, grow in their knowledge of God, and practice a variety of spiritual disciplines that are designed to push their boundaries and deepen their relationship with God. Pray that it is a fruitful time. Wednesday 31 July - Pray for all the Christian teachers and chaplains as they minister to their students at school. Pray that they may be an encouragement to the students in word and action.
AUGUST Thursday 1 August - Praise God for the opportunity that CRU® has, as an organisation, to reach many children with the gospel. Pray that we may continue to work humbly towards the growth of His kingdom. Friday 2 August - Give thanks for the opportunity the Schools Ministry Team has to visit students during the week. Praise God that Andrew, one of CRU’s Schools Ministry Associates, had an encouraging conversation with Jayden*. Praise God that after a Summit Camp, Jayden shared his doubts about God with Andrew. Pray that as Andrew visits Jayden’s school each term, he will continue to encourage him in his faith, listen to his struggles, and point him to Scripture. Saturday 3 August - Give thanks that Greenacre Baptist students were able to attend a Summit Camp. Pray that God will use Kellie, in the Schools Ministry team, to faithfully serve and encourage the students and teachers at the school when she visits them this term. Sunday 4 August - Please pray that the Summit Team may be immersed in God’s Word daily, that they may be equipped and built up, ready to preach the gospel clearly on camp, both in Christian discovery times and also through one-on-one conversations. Monday 5 August - Praise God for the questions Josh*, in Year 5, asked on his Summit school camp. He asked his leader so many questions, right up until bedtime each night. Praise God that Josh was able to receive a Bible and a devotion to take home to continue learning about our great God. *Name changed for confidentiality reasons
Tuesday 6 August Please pray that God will continue to shine His light into Perth schools. Pray that He will raise up godly witnesses to His gospel. Pray also that, as head and chaplain roles become available, He would appoint wise and faithful people to these roles. Wednesday 7 August - Give thanks for the CRU® Groups at Barker College and the hundreds of students who attend weekly. Pray that the students would stand firm in their faith and be great witnesses to students who don’t know Jesus. Thursday 8 August - Please pray for the Tara Anglican School for Girls Years 3 and 4 Summit Camp happening this week. Pray that the girls will feel welcomed and comfortable as many will be coming on camp for the first time. Also pray that the Bible would be taught clearly and that the students would grow in their knowledge and love of God. Friday 9 August - Claremont College Year 4 are on an ecology camp with the Summit Team this week. Pray that the students will enjoy camp, see the beauty of God’s creation as they learn more about the environment, and respond in awe as they consider God’s sovereignty and power. Saturday 10 August - Praise God for Matthew* in Year 3. While on a Summit school camp, he had many questions about the Bible and how Jesus wants us to live. Praise God that he wanted to keep chatting after discussion groups and all through morning tea. During these conversations he expressed that he was unsure how to read his Bible on his own, so praise God that he agreed to take a devotional home to help him. Sunday 11 August - Praise God for Gary Hill and the longevity of his leadership. Give thanks for the gifts God has given him, and the way he faithfully uses them to lead CRU. Ask that God will continue to encourage him and sustain him in his leadership of CRU.
Monday 12 August - Please pray for the Crusader Board as they make decisions about the budget for the new financial year, starting 1st September. Ask God that they would make wise and prudent decisions regarding the resources CRU® has been entrusted with. Tuesday 13 August - Please pray for the Divisional Heads as they go on retreat over the next two days. Please pray that this time away will be beneficial, and that they will work together well. Please pray that through the work of the different divisions of CRU, God would be glorified. Wednesday 14 August - The Year 6 students from William Clarke College are heading to Canberra with the Summit Team and visiting many different educational places this week. Pray that this will also be a great time of spiritual learning and ask God for safety during the long trips on the bus. Thursday 15 August - William Clarke College Years 3 and 4 are having their school camp at Galston this week. Pray for the Summit leaders, that they would display Christ in all their words and actions throughout camp as they interact with the students, teachers and each other. William Clarke College Year 5 are joining the Summit Team at Lake Mac this week. Praise God for many opportunities to share the gospel with these students. Please pray that the talks will be delivered clearly. Friday 16 August - Pray for the Inter-CRU events that are happening at St Catherine’s School and at Trinity Christian School (ACT) today. Pray that many students will gather together to grow in their knowledge of God and be inspired to go and tell their friends about Him. Saturday 17 August - Praise God for the opportunity to run a Summit day camp program for St Peter’s Anglican Primary School Year 3 yesterday. Thank God for the those who attended and pray that God would continue working in the hearts of any students considering considering the claims of Jesus. Sunday 18 August - Give thanks for Berowra Christian School and the faithful proclamation of the gospel there each week at their assembly and in class. Pray that the Christian students would continue to be in awe of God’s goodness and that they would be encouraged to keep pursuing Him. *Name changed for confidentiality reasons
Monday 19 August - Praise God for the opportunity for some of the Summit Team to attend the Outdoor Educators Conference this week, run by the Christian Venues Association. Please pray that it will be a great time of fellowship and connecting with people from other campsites. Tuesday 20 August - Give thanks for the hundreds of volunteers who lead on CRU® Camps each year. Praise God for their willingness to sacrifice their time and energy to serve on camp and for their partnership in sharing Jesus with a new generation. Wednesday 21 August - Scone Grammar School Year 4 are joining the Summit Team at Galston this week, whilst the Year 3 students will be heading to Lake Mac. Pray that the students would enjoy the outdoor activities and grow in their self-confidence. Also pray for the leaders as they seek to teach the gospel to the campers, and pray for the Year 3 students as they come on camp for the first time. Thursday 22 August - Roseville College Years 2 to 4 are joining the Summit Team for their camps this week. Pray that the Summit leaders would be able to build great relationships with the girls on camp, that God would be sowing seeds in the hearts of those they talk to, and that God’s love would be shown through their actions. Friday 23 August - The Summit Team are running a day camp for Roseville College Years K to 1 today. Pray that the leaders may communicate effectively, that they may be able to relate to these young girls, and remain energetic for the entire day. Saturday 24 August - Praise God that Summit campers get to hear the gospel while doing various activities in God’s amazing creation. While bushwalking, Emily* in Year 4, was curious about God and asked her leader many questions. Praise God that through this conversation, Emily decided that she would like to take home a Bible and devotional to help her continue her learning after camp. Sunday 25 August - Oxford Falls Grammar School Year 6 are on camp this week in Canberra. Pray that the Summit leaders will build great relationships with the students and that God will allow great discussions to happen throughout the week, especially during the long bus rides.
Monday 26 August - Followers in Training (FIT), a leadership training event for Year 5 and 6 students, is happening at Broughton Anglican College today. Pray that the students will not only learn practical ways on how to put God first in their lives, but be compelled to learn even more about God and His love for us, displayed through Jesus. Tuesday 27 August - Norwest Christian College is hosting FIT today. Pray that the students will discover new ways to love and serve others. Wednesday 28 August - FIT is happening at Scots College today. Pray for the Schools Ministry FIT team, that they will inspire the students to lead their primary CRUÂŽ School Groups effectively. Thursday 29 August - FIT is happening at Scots College today. Pray for the Schools Ministry FIT team that they will inspire the students to lead like Jesus in their primary CRU Groups. Friday 30 August - Pray for the Schools Ministry FIT team as they travel to Trinity College in the ACT today. Pray that the students will learn how to make God number one in their lives. Saturday 31 August - Green Point Christian College Year 9 were at Galston this past week with the Summit Team. Thank God for the opportunity to appreciate His creation during hikes, cooking out and camping. Thank God for the conversations that took place and ask that He would stir the hearts of students after camp, that they would be keen to continue investigating who Jesus is.
SEPTEMBER Sunday 1 September - Please pray for the Crusader Board as they meet tomorrow. Give thanks for the men and women who serve on the Crusader Board, who are united in the vision of sharing Jesus with a new generation. Pray that they will communicate effectively and make wise and God-glorifying decisions as they lead CRU®. Monday 2 September - Meriden School is hosting FIT today. Pray that the students will learn new and creative ways to serve others in their CRU School Groups and schools, and be encouraged to live more like Jesus. Pray for the FIT team as they travel to Shellharbour Anglican College tomorrow. Pray that they will be full of energy and that they will effectively equip the junior leaders to be faithful leaders of their CRU School Groups. Tuesday 3 September - Praise God for the opportunity to run a Summit Camp for Mary Immaculate School for the first time. Pray that the Year 6 camp at Galston will run smoothly, that the teachers will have a positive experience, and that the school will be excited to book another camp with us. Wednesday 4 September - Please pray for CRU West’s Spring Leadership Camp in October. Pray that God will raise up many students to come on camp to be built up and trained in the Word of God, and that He’d start softening their hearts for what He is going to do in and through their lives for that week and beyond. Pray also that God will guide the thoughts and preparations of the speaker, directors and leaders in the lead up to camp.
Thursday 5 September - St Peter’s Anglican Primary School Year 5 are on their last day of camp with the Summit Team. Pray for safety during the activities and that the students would be able to step outside their comfort zone, learn a lot through their camp experiences and be challenged in their knowledge of God. St Philip’s Christian College Gosford are at Lake Mac with their Year 3 and 4 students. Please pray that the campers would be keen to hear from the Summit Team, particularly during Christian Discovery time. Friday 6 September - Thomas Hassall Anglican College is hosting FIT today. Pray that the students will learn how to be welcoming to new students who visit their CRU® Groups. Oxford Falls Grammar School Year 3 and Trinity Christian School Year 4 are with the Summit Team for their school camps. Pray that everyone will be energetic and excited to be on camp, that the students will enjoy the activities, and that the message of Jesus will be boldly proclaimed. Saturday 7 September - Pray for VOLT Spring, a camp leader training event, which will take place on 14th September. Pray that many volunteers will come along to be trained and that we can provide really practical information about camp leading that will help the leaders share Jesus and connect with campers. Sunday 8 September - Pray for each individual Summit Fellow. As they attend camps during the week, and potentially miss out on their church’s weekly Bible study or home group, ask God that they would continue to fellowship and connect with their church family.
Monday 9 September - Summit is on camp with Trinity Grammar School (Summer Hill) Years 3 and 4 at Galston this week. Praise God for the great opportunity to build relationships with these boys. Pray that they will have an enjoyable time exploring God’s creation together. Tuesday 10 September - Praise God for the opportunity for Summit to run camp for Arndell Anglican College Year 5 at Lake Mac this week. Please pray that God will provide the leaders with spiritual wisdom and guidance as they lead these young students and that the students will enjoy the activities on camp. Wednesday 11 September - Praise God that Summit has the opportunity to run camp for Oxford Falls Grammar School Years 4 and 5 this week. Pray that the leaders would show Christ’s love as they care for these young campers and that the team would lead with enthusiasm and excitement, ready to serve the campers, teachers and other staff. Thursday 12 September - Praise God for Arndell Anglican College Year 6 camp happening at Lake Mac this week. Pray for the camp director, that they will lead the team well and that the leaders will submit everything to God in prayer. Friday 13 September - Rouse Hill Anglican College Year 4 are at Galston with the Summit Team today. Pray that the staff would be a great example of lives lived for Christ and that the students would enjoy participating in the camp activities.
