FEBRUARY Friday 1 February - Pray for Jessica Graieg-Morrison and Bree Stedman as they continue their ministry roles at William Clarke College. Pray also for the senior chaplain Colin Noble and pray for Anna Owen, as she regularly visits the many lunchtime groups at the school. Saturday 2 February - Praise God for Laura, in Year 7, who on a Summit camp said that discussion groups were her favourite part of camp! She shared that she learnt so much and at the end of camp asked for a Bible and a devotional book so she could continue her learning after camp. Sunday 3 February - Praise God for a great summer CRUÂŽ Camps season with over 1000 kids on 31 camps taking part in all sorts of activities. Praise God that the good news of Jesus was shared with all of them and pray they would respond in faith. As the school year begins, pray that God would be strengthening and equipping the CRU Schools Ministry Team for their visits, talks and meetings with students, teachers and chaplains. Monday 4 February - Medowie Christian School is having their Year 7 camp at Lake Mac this week with Summit. Please pray that great conversations will happen, even outside of the Christian Discovery time, as they enjoy completing fun activities with the Summit Team. Tuesday 5 February - Praise God for the Marketing Team, who work so diligently to promote Summit, CRU Camps and Schools Ministry. Pray that God would give them creativity, and that the materials they produce would reach all the right people.
Wednesday 6 February - Please pray for the running of the Newington College Preparatory School Year 3 and 4 camp at Galston. Pray that the boys will have a great time on camp, that the talks throughout camp are delivered clearly, and that the boys will listen and understand the message. Thursday 7 February - St Luke’s Grammar School is having their Year 6 camp at Lake Mac. Please pray for the Summit Team, that they will facilitate their discussion groups well and that the boys will have a great time doing all the planned activities. Friday 8 February - Praise God for the opportunity we have to run a camp for Ravenswood Year 4 for the first time, happening at Galston. Please pray that the leaders will form new relationships quickly with the students and teachers, and that the Summit Team will serve the camp faithfully. Saturday 9 February - Thank God for all those who gave so generously towards the Christmas Appeal to help more school students continue their journey of faith at school through CRU Groups. Praise God for Stella, who finds getting to church or youth group challenging, so her CRU Group at school is a great encouragement to her. Praise God that Stella recently started up a CRU Group in the Junior School and over 30 younger students now attend each week! Sunday 10 February - Thank God for the tremendous generosity shown by Crusaders’ supporters towards the Lake Mac Redevelopment so far. Pray that God would inspire the wider CRU community to give generously towards this project so that Lake Mac can be ready in 2020 to reach thousands more young people with the hope of the gospel. Monday 11 February - Praise God for the continued service of Sam Allen, David Braga (Chair), Nathan Brown, Ian Bucknell, Roger Corbett, Heather Henderson, Karen Kightley, Cass Mathews, and Tim Wright on the Lake Mac Fundraising Committee. Pray that God will continue to use the wisdom and gifts of each member to grow His Kingdom through the new Lake Mac campsite. Tuesday 12 February - Please pray that we continue to receive good advice and direction from helpful companies for the new solar panel system at Galston. Please pray that the installation will run smoothly.
Wednesday 13 February – Year 7 at St Philip’s Christian College, Gosford, is having their school camp at Galston. Praise God that Summit has had these students on camp before. Pray that the previous relationships will be strengthened and that the gospel would be made known on this camp. Thursday 14 February - Pray for Year 8 at Belmont Christian College, on camp with the Summit Team this week. Praise God that their hike provides time for leaders and campers to have awesome chats about life and faith! Friday 15 February - Praise God for the Northholm Grammar School Year 7 students who have a camp at Lake Mac this week. Pray that the students will have a fun and safe time on the water and that Summit leaders would talk clearly about God in their discussion groups. Saturday 16 February - Pray for wisdom as we look to employ a Bookings Manager to oversee the bookings department at our two sites. Pray that they will transition into their new role quickly. Sunday 17 February - Pray for continued safety and protection during the running of activities and the provision of food at our Galston campsite. Pray that staff will continue to be diligent and that we will implement great systems and processes to support them. Monday 18 February - Praise God that the Summit Team has the opportunity to run another camp for Newington College Year 5 and 6. Pray that the leaders will serve the campers, teachers and our great God well this week. Tuesday 19 February - St Paul’s Grammar School Year 11 is at Lake Mac this week with the Summit Team. Please pray for safety and for great friendships to be made as the students and leaders take part in many fun activities together. Wednesday 20 February – Please pray for William Carey Christian School Year 11, who are with the Summit Team this week at Galston. Pray that the campers will be open to hearing from God’s Word and excited to take on new challenges and activities. Thursday 21 February – Pray for the FIT (Followers in Training) events that will be taking place in primary schools in Term 1. Pray that the Schools Ministry Team
will faithfully and energetically equip students in Years 5-6 to lead their CRU® Groups well. Friday 22 February - Pray for the InterCRUs in Term 1, that the speakers at these events will teach God’s Word faithfully, and that the students who attend will be inspired to live for Christ in their schools. Saturday 23 February - Praise God that a small number of new CRU Groups have started meeting in Perth schools. Ask God to provide wisdom and encouragement to the leaders, and for hearts to be changed in the light of the gospel. Sunday 24 February - Praise God for the provision of our new HR Manager, Rhonda Ho. Pray that she continues to fit in well and have a positive impact on the company for God’s kingdom. Monday 25 February – The Summit Team is running a camp at Galston for Presbyterian Ladies’ College Year 11. Pray for the students as they learn new study and leadership skills this week. Tuesday 26 February – Pray that God will sustain the Lake Mac site team and for camp operations as we move through the building redevelopment project. Pray that camps won’t be too impacted by the building works. Pray for patience for staff as they look to operate the site and run camps through this period. Wednesday 27 February - Macarthur Years 3 and 4 are having their school camp at Galston this week. Pray that the leaders will show God’s love in their words and actions, that the students will enjoy the activities, and that they would hear the gospel clearly. Thursday 28 February – The Summit Team is running a camp for Trinity Grammar Junior School Year 5 at Lake Mac, as well as a camp with Tara Anglican School for Girls Year 11. Pray that the Summit Fellows will have lots of energy to run the programs well and build good relationships with the students.
MARCH Friday 1 March – The Summit Team is currently running a study skills camp for Tara Anglican School for Girls Year 12. Pray for the Summit leaders as they run various sessions, and for the students, that they are able to learn and apply these new skills. Saturday 2 March - Thank God for the provision of Matilda Slade as Fundraising & Events Coordinator in 2018. Pray that she would glorify God as she uses her skills and creativity to organise major events and work on various fundraising projects. Sunday 3 March - Pray that the trusts and foundations we approach for grant funding this year will look favourably upon our applications, so we can improve facilities and further resource CRU® ministry. Thank God for the funding we have received from these funding bodies over the past year. Monday 4 March – The Summit Team is running a camp program for St Catherine’s School Year 7 at Lake Mac this week. Pray for safety as they spend a lot of time hiking, and pray that God would provide many opportunities for the team to have conversations about faith. Tuesday 5 March - Give thanks for the CRU West Committee and for the staff workers, Sheridan Raston and Hannah Killow. Pray they will be people of integrity, faithfulness and wisdom, and that God will strengthen and sustain them to continue in this work. Wednesday 6 March - St Luke’s Grammar School Year 5 is at Lake Mac with the Summit Team this week. Please pray for
safety on the water and opportunities to talk about God as they complete many activities surrounded by His creation. Thursday 7 March – The Summit Team is running a camp for Emmaus Christian School Year 9 and 10 this week. Pray that the students will enjoy the activities, that leaders will be great examples to the students and that God will allow many great discussions. Friday 8 March - Emmaus Christian School Years 6-8 are with the Summit Team this week. Pray for safety during the activities and that the students may be able to step outside their comfort zone and learn a lot from their experiences. Saturday 9 March - Praise God for the large numbers of students who came together for the most recent InterCRU event in WA. As more events are run, please pray that God will continue to grow relationships between those who attend, for mutual encouragement in Him. Sunday 10 March - Pray that the new Summit Fellows will be growing in confidence and enthusiasm as they learn how camps are run. Pray that they will be relying on God for strength and energy as they adapt to a busy schedule. Monday 11 March - Praise God that Summit has the opportunity to run the camp program for Scots College Year 3 at Galston. Pray for good health for the Summit Team and pray that they will show God’s love as they care for the campers. Pray also for the Crusader Council as they meet tonight, that they will make wise decisions, especially in this time of growth and change with the redevelopment of Lake Mac. Tuesday 12 March - Summit is running the camp program for Scots College Year 5. Please pray that students will have a great time and that the team will be an encouragement to the kids, teachers, and site staff. Wednesday 13 March - Scots College Year 4 is at Lake Mac with Summit. Praise God that they are able to spend time in His beautiful creation. Pray for safety as they spend time on the water doing activities. Thursday 14 March - Northern Beaches Christian School Year 5 is on camp at Galston with Summit. Pray for great relationships to be built during camp, for good conversations, and that the kids may be able to understand who God is.
Friday 15 March - Over 300 guests will be attending the Crusaders Business Luncheon today at NSW Parliament House. Pray that guests will be encouraged and inspired as they hear of how God has been working through CRU® to bring many young people into His kingdom. Ask that guests will give generously to support this vital work. Saturday 16 March - Give thanks for awesome volunteers who give generously of their time and resources to come in to the office to help out with our many fundraising activities. Praise God for their willingness to help, and for their encouragement to us. We are so grateful to God for them! Sunday 17 March - Praise God for the many Bibles and devotions that are given to campers who show an interest in God during the year. Pray that those students will be able to use them to grow in their knowledge of God and further develop their relationship with Him. Monday 18 March – Year 3 from St Philip’s Christian College, Newcastle, is at Lake Mac. Pray that the Summit leaders will care for these young students well and be great witnesses of God’s love for them. Tuesday 19 March - The Year 3 and 4 students from Scots All Saints College are at Galston this week. Pray that the Summit leaders will build great relationships with the students on camp and that God would be sowing seeds in the hearts of those they talk to. Wednesday 20 March – Pray that activities are run smoothly as the Summit Team leads St Catherine’s School Year 6 at Galston this week. Pray that the leaders will build good relationships with the campers and display God’s love to them through their words and actions. Thursday 21 March - St Catherine’s School Year 9 is with the Summit Team this week. Pray that relationships will be built quickly between the leaders and campers and that there would be many opportunities for good conversations. Friday 22 March - Arden Anglican School Year 4 is at Galston, while the Year 6 students are at Lake Mac. Pray that the Summit leaders would be spending personal time with God daily so that they would be excited and prepared to share God’s Word faithfully to the kids on these camps. Saturday 23 March – Pray for Olivia, a CRU Camper who said that her favourite thing on camp was getting to have “conversations with leaders with everyday Christian struggles”. Give thanks that CRU Camps help Christian
campers to dig deeper into their faith and have the confidence to share it with their peers. Sunday 24 March – With the development of Lake Mac, please pray for Gary Hill as he leads the staff of CRU in this time of growth and change. Please particularly pray that God may give Gary great wisdom and grace in his leadership as the building work at Lake Mac commences. Pray also for the staff involved as they adjust to the changes this project will bring. Monday 25 March - Give thanks for the new CRU resource for 2019 on the book of Daniel. Pray that God would use it to build up and encourage students across many schools. Tuesday 26 March - Summit leaders are with Barker Years K-2 at their school today. Praise God for the opportunity to go into this school to talk about Jesus. Pray for a fun and exciting day for the kids as they hear about the Good News. Wednesday 27 March - Barker College Year 3 and 4 are at Galston with the Summit Team this week. Pray that the campers will have a fun and exciting time with the leaders during activities and for fruitful conversations during discussion time. Thursday 28 March – The Summit Team is running the camp program for St Philip’s Christian College, Newcastle, Year 4 at Lake Mac this week. Pray for the students as they learn about God in Christian Discovery, and pray also that they will have fun participating in all the activities. Friday 29 March - Praise God for His goodness in paving the way for a new CRU West Junior High Camp in the upcoming holidays. Praise Him for the growth in camper numbers on WA’s other two CRU Camps. Pray that this camp will be well attended and that the leaders will plan well in the lead up to camp. Saturday 30 March - Pray for Autumn VOLT today at SMBC. Pray that many leaders will come along and be equipped to lead on their autumn camp, meet others in the wider CRU community, and see the bigger picture of CRU Camps beyond their camp. Sunday 31 March - Give thanks for the huge number of volunteers who lead on CRU Camps each season, giving up a week of leave or holiday time. Praise God for their willingness to pay to come on camp, use their gifts and talents to run activities, and share Jesus with the campers. Praise God that in so many surveys from campers, their favourite thing about camp was the leaders.
APRIL Monday 1 April - Pray for a CRU® Camper who shared, “The community of faith and ideas raised at discussion group reaffirmed and strengthened my faith.” Pray for campers in this situation who have had their faith strengthened by God through camp talks and discussions. Pray this would continue in the weeks, months and years ahead. Tuesday 2 April - The Summit Team is at Galston with Oxford Falls Grammar School Year 11. Pray that the leaders would facilitate their groups well as they take the students through many discussions on leadership, study skills and Jesus. Wednesday 3 April - The Summit Team is with Roseville College Year 5 at Lake Mac this week. Pray that God will give the team and the students good weather for activity times and that discussion groups will be a time of encouragement. Thursday 4 April - Praise God for the amazing opportunity to share the Word of God with campers and pray that the Summit Team is constantly reminded of this great privilege. Friday 5 April - Pray for CRU Camps Committee, a team of dedicated volunteers who think about leader and director recruitment, training and improving the way we do camps. Pray for wisdom as they make decisions, and for creativity in planning for the future of CRU Camps. Saturday 6 April - Please pray that the Trinity Grammar boys who attend the CRU Groups across the 3 campuses will grow in their faith. Also pray for Chris Thanopoulos, Stuart Smith and Pau Brigden, as they lead these groups. Pray for Nigel Vaux as he visits these groups each term and supports the chaplains.
Sunday 7 April - Give thanks and pray for the Tara Anglican School chaplain, Michelle Kay-Browning, as she leads the chaplaincy work. Give thanks and pray for the numerous CRU Groups that run across the entire school throughout the week. Also pray for Janet Jolly has she oversees the running and leading of the Junior School groups and for the new youth workers overseeing the Year 7-12 groups. Monday 8 April – The Summit Team is with Calrossy Anglican School Year 7 at Lake Mac this week. Pray for safety for the students and leaders during the many activities they will complete and for softened hearts during Christian Discovery time. Tuesday 9 April - Give thanks for chaplains at Burgmann Anglican School and for how they lead chapel and CRU Groups at Burgmann. Ask that God would raise up more student leaders to help model Christ to the other students and help run the CRU Groups. Wednesday 10 April - Belmont Christian College Year 7 has their school camp with Summit at Galston this week. Please pray for the leaders, that they will be able to facilitate all their groups well, both activity groups and discussion groups. Thursday 11 April – Please pray for Belmont Christian College Year 8, who are with the Summit Team this week for their school camp. Ask God that the leaders will be able to have good conversations about God during the various activities, especially during the hike. Friday 12 April – The Summit Team is with Covenant Christian School Year 8 at Lake Mac. Praise God for the Lake Mac site and pray that activities, talks and discussion groups will run smoothly. Pray that conversations will be fruitful as campers get to know Summit leaders and learn more about Christ. Saturday 13 April – With HSC exams only 6 months away, please pray for the students on Autumn Study 1. Pray the students manage to keep a good balance of study and fun in their lives and that the skills learnt on camp will help them do that in the months ahead. Sunday 14 April - Pray for Pumped at Lake Mac this week. Give thanks for all the kids on camp and pray they would have a great time doing the many fun activities. Pray for the team leading them as they share the gospel and their lives with everyone on camp this week.
Monday 15 April - Give thanks for the great time campers and leaders can have at the Gold Coast on Destination QLD, enjoying all the theme parks. Pray for safety as they travel to and from Queensland. Tuesday 16 April - Pray for the team looking after the campers on QLD Mania. Pray for safety in the parks and for great conversations on the bus. Pray that discussion groups will be fruitful and that campers will have all their questions about God answered. Wednesday 17 April - Give thanks for Masterchef, a unique camp that lets kids be creative and have fun learning new cooking skills. Praise God for the opportunity this gives CRU to share Jesus with them on camp. Thursday 18 April - Pray for the girls on Autumn Trails this week. Pray for safety as they ride horses at Attunga and for a great sense of community among the girls who attend this small camp. Friday 19 April - Praise God for CRU Pulse at Rouse Hill Anglican College, which ran earlier this week. Pray that the campers had a great time hearing about Jesus and that they enjoyed all the activities and adventures on camp. Saturday 20 April - Praise God for Lucy* in Year 10, who decided to become a follower of Jesus on her school camp with Summit. She came on camp unsure of what she believed, but through the talks and discussions she realised her need to follow Him. Praise God for the way camp helped her make that decision and pray that she will continue to grow in her walk with God, at school and at home. Sunday 21 April - Give thanks and pray for the Senior School Chaplain, Josh Irwin, as he oversees ministry across the whole of St Philip’s Christian College (Newcastle). Give thanks for the student involvement in various CRU Groups and for the student leaders who help at the groups. Give thanks and pray for Paul Wellham, the Head of Junior School, who runs chapel each week. Monday 22 April – Give thanks for the young people on Evacu8 this week. Pray that they would enjoy the program and activities, connect with the leaders and respond well to the Christian community on camp. Tuesday 23 April - Praise God for the new CRU West Junior High Camp running this week. Pray that the logistics of a new program and new site will work, that the leaders would be outstanding examples of Christ’s grace
and wisdom, and for hearts to be challenged and transformed by the gospel. Wednesday 24 April - Praise God that we get to share Jesus with Year 12 students on study camps. Pray that on Autumn Study 2 this year the students will have quality study time, be open to hearing the gospel message, and have their questions answered. Thursday 25 April - Give thanks for the young kids on Autumn Adventure Day Camp at Galston. Pray that they would have lots of fun investigating God’s promises and be amazed at how He works. Give thanks for the preciousness of a child’s faith. Friday 26 April - Praise God for the way He works through the lives of the Summit leaders. During a campfire, one of the Summit leaders shared their testimony. After hearing this, Daniel* in Year 12 was struck by how living as a child of God is not actually restrictive but liberating, and gives us a hope for eternity. After a few conversations with the leaders, Daniel decided to recommit his life to Jesus. Praise God! Saturday 27 April - Praise God for Gary Hill, the gifts God has given him, and the way he uses them to lead CRU. Pray that God will continue to sustain and equip Gary through the different seasons of life and work, and that God will uphold him in his role. Sunday 28 April – Pray for CRU staff as they work in their various divisions, that their work and efforts will continue to bring God glory. Monday 29 April – Pray for the Crusader Council as they meet tonight, that they might have wisdom and faithful dependence on God as they make decisions, so that CRU ministries might continue to glorify God. Tuesday 30 April - Praise God for Simon*, who received a Bible on his Year 3 Summit school camp, and was incredibly excited to bring this Bible back on camp with him the following year. It was a great encouragement to hear what he had been reading over the past year and so great to see him keen to read his Bible on camp at any chance he had. Praise God for the way the Word of God impacts these young lives. *Name changed for confidentiality reasons
MAY Wednesday 1 May - Sutherland Shire Christian School Year 10 is joining the Summit Team at Galston this week. Please pray that throughout camp, these students will be able to understand the love and grace of God and who Jesus is. Pray that they will enjoy community with each other and the leaders as the week progresses. Thursday 2 May - Kuyper Christian School Year 7 and 8 are at Lake Mac this week with Summit. Pray that the campers have a positive attitude, are keen to hear more about God, and will be challenged by what they hear. Friday 3 May - Pray for the annual Tax Appeal, which is raising funds to redevelop the Lake Mac campsite. Please ask that those who receive a request will be generous in their support so that an extra 20,000 kids can be reached for Jesus on Lake Mac camps each year! Saturday 4 May – Pray for all the Christian teachers and chaplains as they minister to their students at school. Pray that they may be an encouragement to the students in word and action. Sunday 5 May - Give thanks for the men and women who serve on the many Council and Management Committees. Pray that, as they serve in this way, they might lead CRUŽ ministries to continue to proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus and so glorify God. Monday 6 May - Give thanks for the Christian staff at Covenant Christian School and the many committed Christian teachers. Praise God that the junior group that started in 2018 has had a full classroom of primary
students attending. Pray for the Year 6 students who are involved in running the group. Tuesday 7 May - William Clarke College Year 7 is with Summit this week. Pray that the talks and discussion groups would allow the campers to delve more deeply into God’s Word and be challenged by what they learn. Also pray that the students would enjoy all the planned activities. Wednesday 8 May - Summit is running a camp for William Carey Christian School Year 11 at Galston this week. Thursday 9 May - Please pray that God will continue to shine His light into Perth schools. Pray that He will raise up godly witnesses to His gospel. Pray also that, as head and chaplain roles become available, He would appoint wise and faithful people to these roles. Friday 10 May - Praise God for the opportunity that Summit campers get to hear the gospel while doing various activities in His amazing creation. While bushwalking, Emily* in Year 3, was curious about God and asked her leader many questions. Through this conversation, Emily decided that she would like to take home a Bible and devotional to help her continue her learning after camp. Saturday 11 May - Praise God for the amount of questions Josh*, in Year 5, had on his Summit school camp. He asked his leader so many questions, right up until it was bed time. Praise God that he was able to receive a Bible and a devotional to take home to continue learning about our great God. Sunday 12 May - Praise God for the new Fellows who have joined Summit this year! Praise God for His provision in this way, and pray that He would be using them powerfully to glorify His name. Monday 13 May - Pray for CRU West’s Partnership Dinner, which is being held tonight. Pray that the many who attend will be encouraged as they hear about CRU’s ministry in Perth schools, and that God will raise up many prayer and financial supporters as a result of the evening. *Name changed for confidentiality reasons
