February to May
FEBRUARY
Thursday 1st February - Praise God for the students who attended CrossTrain in October. Give thanks for all that they learnt about Christian leadership and pray that God would use them to lead their CRU® Groups and schools in 2018 and beyond. Friday 2nd February - Give thanks for Julie and Renee at Georges River Grammar School and their passion for both students and parents to know the gospel. Pray for the Year 5 Day Camp at Oxford Falls Grammar School, that the program will go well and leaders would form good relationships with the students despite the tight schedule. Saturday 3rd February - Praise God for the students at Cranbrook who meet weekly at their CRU® Group. Pray that God would grow this group and that more students would come along and hear the good news of salvation. Sunday 4th February - Praise God for all the student leaders of their school CRU® Groups. Pray they will continue to serve God humbly and faithfully and be unashamed to stand up for Christ at their school. Monday 5th February - Pray for patience, unity and love to be continually displayed amongst the CRU staff as they seek to serve together in a busy environment. Tuesday 6th February - Pray that God would give Christian teachers and students boldness, courage and humility to share the gospel with someone today.
Wednesday 7th February - Pray for students who feel lonely at school. Pray that God would work through Christian students to comfort and support their peers and to show them the love of Christ. Thursday 8th February - Pray for the Summit Team who are involved in running camps for Newington College Year 3 and 4, and Shore Preparatory School Year 3 and 4. Pray that the boys will have a fantastic camp experience. Friday 9th February - St Luke’s Grammar School Year 6 are joining the Summit Team for camp at Lake Mac. Please pray for a wonderful time and safety for when they participate in water activities. Saturday 10th February - Praise God for a fantastic summer camp season with 30 camps welcoming over 1,000 campers to hear about Jesus. Pray as the campers head into the new school year that they will continue to remember what they learnt and get involved in their school Christian groups. Sunday 11th February - Praise God that 244 CRU® Campers indicated they made a first-time decision to follow Jesus as their Lord in 2017. Pray these campers will have their faith in deep, rich soil and this will be a lifelong faith where they continue to grow in Christ. Monday 12th February - Please pray for Newington College Year 5 and 6 as they are on their Summit Camp at Lake Mac. Please pray that there will be great weather on camp and that all will see and experience God’s goodness. Tuesday 13th February - Northholm Grammar School Year 7 are at Lake Mac with the Summit Team for their School Camp. Pray for an excellent time of fun and new friendships. Pray also that God may soften the students’ hearts and that they will understand who God is. Wednesday 14th February - Summit are running a camp for St Philip’s Christian College Gosford Year 5 and 6 at Galston. Praise God for this opportunity and pray that the students will enjoy the outdoor classroom and learn more about God and His creation.
Thursday 15th February - Praise God for the chance Summit has to run a camp for St Philip’s Christian College Gosford Year 7 at Galston. Please pray for energy throughout camp for the leaders, teachers and students and pray they will have a great camp experience. Friday 16th February - Please pray for Summit as they are running a camp for St Philip’s Christian College Gosford Year 8 at Galston. Pray for the leaders as they lead the group on a hike, and for safety and good conversations during the walk. Pray also for the city adventure camp that Summit is running for the Year 11 students. Pray for safety and energy for everyone as they travel through the city in teams and learn a lot along the way. Saturday 17th February - Pray for students who have begun the new school year. Pray that they may grow in their love for learning and education. Pray that through their studies, they may also come to know and trust in God. Sunday 18th February - Pray for Dan and Clare from the Schools Ministry Team as they run a training event for CRU student leaders in the ACT. Monday 19th February - Please pray for the Summit Team as they run a leadership camp for Oxford Falls Year 6 at their school. Pray that the day will run smoothly and that the students will gain a greater understanding of leadership and, as a result, lead their school well. Tuesday 20th February - Please pray for St Paul’s Grammar School Year 11 camp at Lake Mac. Pray for the Summit Team as they organise multiple water activities. Pray for great weather and safety on the water. Wednesday 21st February - Please pray for the Summit leaders as they lead William Carey Year 11 at Galston for their school camp. Pray that the leaders would develop good relationships with the students and be good models of Christ in their actions and words. Thursday 22nd February - Northern Beaches Christian School are on their Year 3 camp. Please pray that the Summit leaders will help the kids to go outside their comfort zone and learn new skills from their camp experience.
Friday 23rd February - William Clarke College are joining the Summit Team at Lake Mac this week for their Year 5 camp. Please pray for safety on the water and that the kids will see and experience God through His awesome creation. Saturday 24th February - Thank God for all those who gave so generously towards the Christmas Appeal to help more young people attend CRUÂŽ Camps over summer. Praise God for the many campers who have been challenged by the gospel during camps this last year. Pray that CRU Camps can continue to provide opportunities for both outdoor fun and conversations about faith. Sunday 25th February - Pray for the CRU West Staff Worker, Sheridan Raston, that God will give her wisdom as to how to spend her time well, and strength and joy as she seeks to love Jesus and Perth school students. Monday 26th February - Pray for the students starting university or work now that they have finished school. Praise God that so many came on camps over their school years. Pray that they will link in with Christian university groups and continue to grow in faith. Tuesday 27th February - Presbyterian Ladies College Year 11 are at Galston this week joining the Summit Team for camp. Pray that the students will learn a lot about leadership and study skills as the leaders run these sessions on camp. Pray the students can put these new skills into action after camp. Wednesday 28th February - Please pray for the Summit Team as they run a camp for William Clarke College, Year 7. Pray for wisdom for the leaders as they run activities at a different site and pray for great conversations throughout camp.
MARCH
Thursday 1st March - Macarthur Anglican College Years 3 and 4 are with Summit at Galston this week. Please pray that the leaders will be united as a team and reflect the character of God in everything they do, so that both the students and teachers will gain a greater understanding of God. Friday 2nd March - Please pray for the Trinity Grammar School camp happening at Lake Mac. Pray for the Year 5 students, that they may have a great time, be engaged and have great questions in discussion groups as they learn about God. Saturday 3rd March - Please pray for the Crusader Council as they meet for some training and planning. Please also pray for their meetings on 12 March and 30 April 2018. Sunday 4th March - Pray for the new Day Camps Intern Mike Lihou as he supports this fast-growing ministry. More and more Day Camps are happening in 2018, at many schools and churches, and camps are growing in size. Praise God for this! Monday 5th March - St Catherine’s School Year 8 are on their school camp with Summit at Galston. Please pray that great relationships will be formed between the leaders and the students and that the leaders will have the opportunity to share their lives with them.
Tuesday 6th March - Please pray for the Summit camp happening at Lake Mac this week with St Catherine’s School Year 7. Please pray that the students coming on camp will feel welcomed by all and comfortable around their friends and leaders. Wednesday 7th March - St Luke’s Grammar School Year 5 is at Lake Mac this week. Please pray that throughout camp, the kids will engage in both the exciting outdoor activities as well as discussions about who God is. Thursday 8th March - During Term 1, the Summit Team are running 43 school camps. Please pray for energy during this time and that the Lord will give them strength and sustain them throughout the busy term. Pray for the firstyear staff members (started in January), that they may be able to settle into their roles and be applying the things they learnt during their training. Friday 9th March - Pray for the new part-time Bequest and Donor Care Manager, Philippa McCredie, as she settles into her role and gets to know the CRU family. Saturday 10th March - Pray for the upcoming Inter-CRU events, that students will have a great time together in fellowship, hearing God’s Word explained to them and be inspired to head back into their schools to serve God. Sunday 11th March - Scots College Year 3 are joining the Summit Team for their school camp (starting tomorrow). Please pray that the program and activities will run smoothly and the campers will have a wonderful time. Monday 12th March - Pray for the FIT (Followers in Training) events taking place this week at Broughton Anglican College, Norwest Christian College, Roseville College and Claremont College. Pray that the students will be eager to put into practice the new skills that they develop in sharing Jesus with their school peers. Tuesday 13th March - Please pray for Scots College Year 5 camp this week. Pray the Summit leaders will display Christ in all their actions and words throughout camp.
Wednesday 14th March - Please pray for Scots College Year 4 and Medowie Christian School Year 7 who are having their school camps at Lake Mac. Please pray that all the logistics of camp will run smoothly and that the Summit Team would run educationally exceptional camps. Thursday 15th March - Praise God for Northern Beaches Christian School and their partnership with CRU for so many years. Please pray for the Year 5 students as they join the Summit Team on camp at Galston, that the Summit leaders and teachers would be united and work well together. Friday 16th March - Over 300 guests will be attending the Crusader Business Luncheon today at NSW Parliament House. Pray that guests will be encouraged and inspired as they hear of how God has been working through CRU to bring many young people into His kingdom. Ask that they will give generously to support this vital work. Saturday 17th March - Praise God for the FIT (Followers in Training) event which took place yesterday at Burgmann Anglican College, ACT. Pray that the students will be eager to put into practice the new skills that they developed in sharing Jesus with their school peers. Sunday 18th March - St Phillip’s Christian College Newcastle Year 3 are joining the Summit Team for their school camp at Lake Mac, starting tomorrow. Please pray that God may work in and through the leaders to create a great camp experience. Monday 19th March - Pray for the FIT (Followers in Training) event taking place today at Meriden School. Pray that the students will be have fun, learn eagerly and take their newfound skills back to their CRUŽ Groups to bless their peers. Tuesday 20th March - Pray for the FIT (Followers in Training) event happening today at Nowra Christian School. Thank God for the students who will attend, and pray that He will use FIT powerfully to encourage and disciple many young people. Wednesday 21st March - Praise God for all the campsite bookings at Galston. Pray that God would continue to bring about growth in this area, so that the surplus generated can grow ministry opportunities in schools and on camps.
Thursday 22nd March - Praise God for the opportunity the Summit Team has to run school camps. Please pray for the St Catherine’s School Year 6 and Arden Anglican School Year 4 camps at Galston, and the Year 6 camp at Lake Mac this week. Pray for great camp experiences of fun, bonding and helpful conversations about faith. Friday 23rd March - Pray for the FIT (Followers in Training) event taking place today at Thomas Hassall Anglican College. Pray that the Schools Ministry staff running the event will have wisdom and energy as they teach and encourage the students. Saturday 24th March - Pray for the CRU® Camps team as they prepare for the autumn camps season. Pray they can recruit lots of leaders in a tricky holiday period and support directors in this way. Pray the team can represent CRU in a positive way as they speak to parents to book their children on camps. Sunday 25th March - Thank God that Molly, who became a Christian last year on a Study Camp, has been going to church. Thank God for other campers like Molly who put their faith in Jesus through CRU® Camps. Pray that they may continue to grow in faith and be a blessing to those around them. Monday 26th March - Blue Mountains Grammar School Year 11 are joining the Summit Team for their school camp. As this is a new camp, please pray that the team will work well with the teachers to communicate and run a camp that works well for everyone involved. Tuesday 27th March - The Barker College Year 3 and 4 camp is happening at Galston this week. Please pray that the Summit Team will follow up relationships they had with students from last year and that growth will continue to happen in them. Wednesday 28th March - St Phillip’s Christian College Newcastle Year 4 Camp is at Lake Mac. Pray that the camp would provide a memorable end to the school term. Thursday 29th March - Barker College Years Pre K-1 have their day camp at their school. Please pray for a wonderful time and good relationships to develop between the leaders, campers and staff.
Friday 30th March - Pray for a CRU Camper from last year who said in their survey that they ‘Want to know God entirely’. Pray this fervour for knowing God will not fade but they will draw closer to Him in all things. Saturday 31st March - Pray for a young Day Camper, who last year was a self-proclaimed atheist at just nine years old. By the end of camp, God had done a great work in him and he accepted Jesus as his Saviour. Praise God! Pray that this young boy has been connected to a church community and that he can share his wonderful camp experience with others around him.
APRIL Sunday 1st April - Pray that God will provide cheerful cooks and godly leaders for the two camps CRU West runs annually (Study Camp and Leadership Training Camp). Praise God for the directors of these camps, Mark Grobicki, and Matt and Tessa Smith. Monday 2nd April - Pray for new graduate Christian teachers in WA, that they will be excellent educators and outstanding examples of Christ-like service. Tuesday 3rd April - Please pray for the students in Year 11 at Oxford Falls Grammar School as they join the Summit Team on camp at Galston. Pray that the students will be challenged to be good leaders of their school. Wednesday 4th April - Praise God for the opportunity to have the Roseville College Year 5 girls with Summit at Lake Mac. Please pray for a smooth program and that the students on camp will have a really fun camp experience.
Thursday 5th April - Give thanks for CRU’s awesome volunteers who give generously of their time and resources to come in to the office to help out with fundraising activities. Praise God for their willingness to help and for their encouragement! Friday 6th April - Pray that the grant bodies and foundations the Fundraising Team apply to this year will look favourably upon the applications for funding so that CRU can improve facilities and further ministry activities. Saturday 7th April - Give thanks for the godly men and women who serve on the Crusader Council. Pray that they will continue to lead the organisation well and make wise decisions so that CRU’s ministries will continue to glorify God. Sunday 8th April - Calrossy Anglican School Year 7 are at Lake Mac for their school camp with Summit. Please pray for the opportunity to have great conversations between the leaders and the students. Monday 9th April - Pray for the CRU West Committee, that God will give wisdom, love and humility to each member. Pray for team unity so that Jesus will be honoured, and for smooth and productive functioning. Tuesday 10th April - Praise God for his provision of Gary Hill and the way he has humbly served CRU for over 30 years. Pray that God will continue to sustain and equip him in his leadership of CRU. Wednesday 11th April - Please pray for Belmont Christian College Year 7 who are at Galston this week on camp. Please pray that the Summit leaders will be prayerful and apply their training well to run a great camp. Thursday 12th April - Belmont Christian College Year 8 are joining the Summit Team on camp. Pray for the logistics of camp and for safety as the students sleep in tents. Friday 13th April - Covenant Christian School Year 7 are at Lake Mac for their school camp. Please pray that throughout camp the Summit leaders will build good relationships with the students and grow in godly leadership under Christ.
Saturday 14th April - Give thanks to God for the donors who contribute to the camper and leader sponsorship fund and the way this has enabled many families to send their children on camp where they get to hear about God and His great love for them. Sunday 15th April - Pray for Dan and the team on Autumn Study 1 as they lead over 160 campers who are preparing for the HSC. Pray the students can have a productive week of study and that they may be receptive to hearing about Jesus. Monday 16th April - Praise God for the young campers enjoying Lake Mac this week on Pumped and for Emma and Harry as they lead the team. Pray for great conversations to happen on the boats as they sail around the lake. Tuesday 17th April - Pray for the Destination Queensland team and campers as they head up to Queensland and enjoy the theme parks on the Gold Coast. Pray for great conversations on the bus to camp and when they travel to and from the theme parks. Wednesday 18th April - Pray that the Queensland Mania campers will have lots of fun at the theme parks and for attentive campers in discussion groups where they can have their questions answered clearly and faithfully. Thursday 19th April - Praise God for the opportunities to run holiday camps. Pray for all the campers who have registered for this season, that they may have an enjoyable camp experience, and leave camp with a cheerful heart and a better understanding of God. Friday 20th April - Give thanks for Rebecca Carritt who joined CRU as Gary’s EA in October 2017. Please pray that she will continue to settle into the role, and so serve Gary and the organisation well. Saturday 21st April - Praise God for the number of schools that have partnered with CRU over Term 1! Praise God for many years of partnership with many schools! Sunday 22nd April - Pray for Autumn Study 2 as Ellen and Will lead the team and encourage campers to consider the claims of Jesus. Pray that this will be a helpful perspective as they study and prepare for their HSC exams.
Monday 23rd April - Give thanks for Evacu8 happening this week at Lake Mac and for the great leadership team. Pray for safety during activities and for great gospel conversations where campers can get to know Jesus. Tuesday 24th April - Pray for the girls on Autumn Trails this week and the great time they will have connecting with each other and building great friendships. Pray that the activities may encourage them to appreciate God’s goodness in His creation. Wednesday 25th April - Pray for Mel, Tori and the team as they run Autumn Study 3. Give thanks that CRU has been able to grow this study camp in autumn, meaning more students are able to prepare well for their HSC or IB and get to hear about God and have their questions answered. Thursday 26th April - Pray for MasterChef camp, that the campers will learn lots of great cooking skills and get the chance to be really creative in the kitchen. Pray for the Christian Discovery time and that God’s Word will be faithfully proclaimed and campers’ hearts will be changed. Friday 27th April - Give thanks for Autumn Adventure Day Camp at Galston and the great fun these young kids will have on camp. Pray for the campers as they experience camp, some for the first time, that this will be the start of attending many more camps and lead to a great faith in Jesus. Saturday 28th April - Pray that God would continue to look after the guest groups as they enjoy their stay at Lake Mac and Galston. Pray for safety in activities, well-managed special diets, and effective communication between guests and site staff. Sunday 29th April - Please pray for CRU’s Divisional Heads. Give thanks for the skills and abilities each brings to their role. Please pray that they work together well, with good communication and support for each other, that the work of CRU might continue to glorify our great God and Saviour. Monday 30th April - Please pray for more bookings for Summit Camps, especially over the months of May to August, for both current and future years.
MAY
Tuesday 1st May - Please pray for the Summit Team as they undergo various activity training. Pray for safety and wisdom on those days. Pray also for the Summit staff who finished up last year (December 2017). Pray that God will use them with the gifts and skills they learnt while at Summit to be serving Jesus. Wednesday 2nd May - Praise God for the opportunity the Summit leaders have to run a camp for the Year 10 students at Shire Christian School this week at Galston. Please pray that the leaders will be showing love and gentleness to the kids and the rest of the team. Thursday 3rd May - Thank God for the provision of the Lake Mac site. Pray that guest groups would book Lake Mac for their retreats, camps and conferences. Friday 4th May - Pray for the Schools Ministry team as they travel to different schools across NSW and ACT. Ask that God would bless their travel and keep them safe on the road. Saturday 5th May - The Summit Team have had various changes to staff in January this year with new Summit Fellows, Outdoor Leaders and senior Summit staff. Please pray that everyone in new roles will settle in well and that God will use them powerfully in their new positions. Pray for the team as a whole, that they will remain united despite these changes.
Sunday 6th May - Praise God for the way God worked in a girl from Trinity Christian School last year. She started camp with a hard heart towards God but throughout camp she asked lots of questions and ended up asking for a Bible. Praise God for her excitement to take the Bible home and start reading it! Monday 7th May - Pray for the annual CRU West Partnership Dinner happening tonight. Please pray that those attending will be encouraged in hearing of the work God is doing through CRU in WA, and that many will be moved to generously support this ministry, through prayers and finances. Tuesday 8th May - William Clarke College Year 8 are joining the Summit Team for their school camp. Please pray for the team as they lead over 150 students. Pray for the campers, that they will gain a new appreciation of God and the outdoors. Wednesday 9th May - Praise God for a 10-year-old girl from Danebank Anglican school who, after camp at a follow-up visit, told one of the leaders ‘I pray for you and the other camp leaders and your families, and I hope to see you again’. Praise the Lord for students who are so focused on God and are praying for CRU. Thursday 10th May - Praise God for Sienna, who after her school Summit Camp, told her CRU® Group that she was now keen to share about her love for Jesus with those around her. Pray that her faith will encourage her to be a good student and friend in her school. Friday 11th May - Thank God for the positive feedback the Summit Team receives regularly from schools and teachers. Pray that the team may use this feedback to spur them on to providing even better camp experience, for God’s glory. Saturday 12th May - Praise God for the immense growth He is bringing to CRU® Groups. At some schools, the groups have grown so large they have had to move out of classrooms and into the hall! Sunday 13th May - Pray for Year 12 students preparing for their half-yearly exams and HSC trials. Pray that the Christian students would be able to remain focused on God during this time, and that non-Christian students would come to know Jesus as they consider their lives and the future.
