A LEGENDARY YACHT
Get to know the story of this legendary yacht – having undergone a transformation and now heading back to sea, she offers her guests a uniquely exclusive travel experience. This is your invitation to sail, revitalise yourself, share the experience with others, and explore, contemplate and respect the world around us – an ode to freedom and the treasures of nature.
Discover the true spirit of sailing Something almost poetic takes place when you step onboard this spectacular three-master. The sparkle of the sea, the gentle kiss of the breeze on your skin, the lapping of the waves, the rustling of the wind in the sails, the scents and sounds as you approach the coast; with all your senses fully awakened and alert, it’s now time for a real adventure, an adventure that will stay with you forever. It is almost as if time stands still aboard this incredible luxury yacht.
New horizons in 2023
In 2023, Le Ponant will debut her maiden season in the Asia Pacific region, a first for the iconic three-masted yacht, and an exciting opportunity to bring our new concept of sailing expeditions to this part of the world. From the rugged, majestic coastlines of the Kimberley region to the secret archipelagos of Indonesia, PONANT, once again pushes the boundaries of expedition travel and brings adventure and luxury closer than ever before.

«Once again, it is with great excitement that Ponant continues to lead the way in luxury discoveries at sea, by bringing the concept of sailing expeditions to the Asia Pacific region.»
Sarina Bratton AM, Chairman Asia Pacific
Sailing expeditions
Making time stand still, being free as a bird, and getting back to the roots of sailing are also about combining travel with protecting the environment. PONANT introduces its guests to sailing expeditions combining barefoot luxury, discovery and respect for the environment. Le Ponant, the iconic yacht that has played such a significant role in the PONANT story, reflects the company’s commitment to responsible tourism. Equipped with the latest technological innovations, its ambition of reducing its emissions is now more relevant than ever.
Non-motorised water-based activities, individual or small-group disembarkations only, a strong emphasis on tailoring the experience to the destination and focussing on local heritage, the use of mains connections at suitably equipped ports, periods of sailing using just wind power, innovative SCR filter system eliminating fine particles and reducing nitrogen oxide emissions by 90%, selective sorting of waste, wastewater treatment using the latest generation technologies: everything has been designed with environment protection in mind.
A sustainable way to travel
All usual plastic-based objects such as straws, laundry bags, cups or even packaging for single food portions are banned from the ship. As for the unavoidable plastic waste, it is sorted and entrusted to companies specialised in the recovery of the material, and then its traceability is followed until its elimination.
3
On this three-master, you live and breathe the experience of the sea each day more than on any other ship. A voyage aboard Le Ponant is a shared communal experience based on a common passion for sailing, travel, exploring new horizons and enjoying unique new experiences. The must-see sights are experienced differently here, and secluded spots far off the beaten track shared enthusiastically with your expedition team.
Sharing: a central tenet of a voyage aboard this iconic yacht. Because to step aboard is to join the PONANT adventure, to see the wonderful spectacle of sailing and navigation, manoeuvres led by the crew, from behind the scenes, and to share a unique experience with just a few other privileged guests. Serene and leisurely relaxation, discovery and exploration, experiencing the local culture or discussing sailing and navigation with a member of the crew: our sailing expeditions itineraries and our ports of call have been selected to provide a surprising and charmingly enchanting experience.
‘‘
The winds of life are always blowing... It is the set of the sails, not the direction of the wind that determines which way we will go.’’ Jim Rohn

Iconic destinations
Australia’s Kimberley Coast
Explore one of the oldest regions on earth aboard one of PONANT’s new sailing expeditions. The Kimberley coastline extends over 12,000 kilometres, harsh yet magnificent, inhabited for perhaps 40,000 years. From the end of the Big Wet in March to best experience the power of the mighty rivers and waterfalls, through to observing migrating Humpback whales in September, a sailing expedition includes classic must-see Kimberley highlights – the Hunter River, King George Falls, Mitchell Falls, Montgomery Reef and Horizontal Falls.
Unique to the experience, PONANT has partnered with the Paspaley group to include a spectacular scenic flight over the Kimberley landscape aboard their Grumman Mallard amphibious aircraft between Broome or Kununurra and Kuri Bay, as well as an exclusive private tour of the Paspaley pearl farms.*
Papua New Guinea, Indonesia & Melanesia
Explore strings of remote islands stretching from Indonesia to West Papua, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomons, and gain access to places rarely visited by outsiders. Memorable moments may include snorkelling with whale sharks in Cenderawasih Bay, exploring an isolated Sepik River village, traversing the ‘fiords’ of Tufi in a dugout canoe or photographing a bizarre shipwreck aground in Roderick Bay. These are opportunities to connect and better understand their diverse and fascinating cultures.

Welcome onboard
Refined and elegant design
The striking lines, the quality of the materials, the sophistication of the way they are combined: the common areas, designed by French design studio Jean-Philippe Nuel and open to the outside, exude a sense of timelessness. Their design offers a blend of purity and easy living through the prominent use of stylish plain tones: off-white, taupe and caviar grey. No embellishments here, but instead a beautiful unity in the common areas as well as in the staterooms.
16 staterooms only for up to 32 guests
With 16 staterooms & suites (including an Owner’s Suite) to choose from, PONANT has chosen to place the emphasis on space and freedom aboard Le Ponant in order to give guests a sense of being on their own private yacht.
