Journeys for the Curious

2026/27 SMALL-SHIP EXPEDITION CRUISES

Hello

If you’ve ever lingered over a map and wondered what’s beyond the familiar, this package is for you. Adventure Canada creates smallship expeditions designed for people who like their travel with depth and discovery, plus the kind of joy you feel in the wind on your face, the glow of long light, and those quiet “can you believe this?” moments shared with good people.

We’re pleased to present a snapshot of our 2026 and 2027 voyages and vessels, from the Arctic and North Atlantic to the Pacific Northwest, Japan, and beyond. We travel on ships built for exploration, with on-board experts and cultural educators who help bring each place to life, not as a checklist, but as a story you get

to step into, laugh inside of, and remember long after you’re home.

We’re proud to be Canadian-owned, family-owned, and independently operated. We still build our travel calendar the old-fashioned way: carefully, personally, and with pride in where we come from. Our Canadian roots shape how we travel anywhere, with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for the places and people who welcome us. Thank you for considering us, and for choosing travel that’s thoughtful, joyous, and genuinely curious.

Yours in adventure, Cedar Swan, Matthew James Swan, and Alana BradleySwan

Some of the photos in this brochure were taken with telephoto (zoom) lenses and may appear closer to wildlife, ice, or archaeological artefacts than we really were. We always keep a safe distance and follow mandated regulations.

In Canada, we travel through Inuit Nunangat, including Nunavut, Nunavik, and Nunatsiavut. We also journey often within Mi’kmaq, Innu, and Haida territories. Internationally, we travel in Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) and elsewhere, where Indigenous rights, protocols, and colonial histories are place-specific and must be learned locally, with humility and care.

It’s All About Connecting

At Adventure Canada, we have one big mission: to connect you—to the wonders of nature, rare wildlife, jaw-dropping landscapes, local cultures (and their delicious food), history, music, science, and, most importantly, each other.

We do it all with heart, humanity, and a hefty dose of hope.

So, grab your metaphorical backpack and link arms with us. Together, we’ll explore the places you’ve dreamed of. People say it’s transformational. Perhaps it will be for you.

Travel with Purpose

Travel isn’t just about snapping photos and buying souvenirs. It’s about going deeper. Travel with purpose: to explore, learn, connect, and grow. Travel with yearning: for adventure, joy, fulfillment, and authenticity. Travel with respect: for nature, cultures, communities, and yourself.

When you travel with us, you’re not just a tourist— you’re a curious adventurer who refuses to let the world grow any smaller. So pack your bags and your biggest dreams—we’ve got a lot of ground (and water) to cover together.

Restore Yourself with Nature

We call it Vitamin N—“N” for nature—and trust us, it’s exactly what the doctor ordered. On an Adventure Canada expedition, you’ll get a double dose of fresh air and awe, guaranteed to leave you feeling recharged and ridiculously alive.

Imagine this: you’re sitting on a 10,000-year-old tundra boulder, left behind by a glacier with impeccable timing. The silence is so loud it’s almost a symphony. The vastness is humbling. And suddenly, you feel it—that deep, heart-squeezing connection to the world around you.

Here, away from all the noise of your inbox and to-do list, nature does what it does best: it heals, restores, and inspires. Welcome to the ultimate reboot.

Wildlife Encounters

An eye-to-eye moment with a wild creature in its natural habitat is pure magic—a privilege that stirs your soul and shifts your perspective. It’s not just about the thrill of the sighting but about finding a deeper connection to the wild and carrying that inspiration home. Wildlife spotting is often a highlight of our expeditions, but the untamed places we explore mean

animals can be elusive and unpredictable. Our expert guides take you where sightings are most likely, but luck is always a factor. Colonial seabirds may be reliable, but polar bears, muskoxen, walrus, and beluga require some good fortune and patience. When wildlife appears, we’ll get you as close as possible. We’ll even alter the ship’s course if necessary.

But we always keep a safe and respectful distance. After all, it’s their home and we are the visitors.

A single moment shared with a wild animal can leave a lasting imprint, like a tattoo on the soul. It’s these fleeting, extraordinary experiences that remind us we’re part of something much bigger and we share some responsibility.

Cross-Cultural Connections

Cultural educators Wakta Joanasie and Louisa Parr

At Adventure Canada, our journeys aren’t just about where you go—they’re about who you meet along the way. Wherever we travel, local culture bearers join us as part of the expedition team. Inuit, Scottish, Faroese, Icelandic, Newfoundlanders, or Labradorians—these incredible individuals are here to help you dive deeper into the heart of their cultures.

Sure, you’ll experience Inuit throat-singing and drum dancing, Scottish haggis and Highland dancing, but that’s just the beginning. The real magic happens when these moments turn into genuine connections. It’s not about checking off a list; it’s about opening your heart and mind to new perspectives. Through storytelling, shared meals, and a few good laughs, you’ll leave with more than memories. You’ll leave with new friends and a fresh lens for seeing the world.

Lifelong Learning with Our Expedition Team

Aleqa Hammond, former Prime Minister of Greenland, talks about Greenland politics in nature's classroom on Disko Island.

Forget boring lectures and stuffy textbooks—our expeditions are like stepping into the coolest classroom on Earth.

Led by our expedition team of local legends and quirky experts, every day is an opportunity to nerd out on topics that make your brain tingle. Learn about the effects of climate change on Arctic marine life, unravel the mysteries of Scottish folklore, sing along with rousing sea shanties, test your ability to differentiate

between colourful lies and truth while learning more about the dialects of Newfoundland and Labrador, or get hands-on with creative activities like printmaking or traditional Inuit beading.

Think of it as school with better snacks, more laughter, and a curriculum designed by Mother Nature herself. By the end, you won’t just feel smarter—you’ll feel more connected to the world around you.

Imagine hiking together, spotting wildlife, or sharing a laugh over who packed way too many socks. With

Adventure Canada, family time means slowing down, breathing deeply, and creating stories you’ll tell around the holiday table for decades.

Back in 1987, two brothers and a buddy had a wild idea: take people to the parts of the world where the maps have more blank space than names. Armed with a zany spirit and a love for adventure, they created a travel company like no other.

Fast forward a few decades, and the Swan family is still at the helm—now with the next generation steering the ship. What’s changed? Not much, except maybe the WiFi. What’s stayed the same? A passion for connecting people with the world’s most extraordinary places and each other.

Safety, Service, and Sustainability

At Adventure Canada, every expedition is guided by our unwavering commitment to safety, service, and sustainability—overarching values that define our business.

Adventure may be our name but “safely” is how we do it. Your well-being is always our top priority, and we’re experts at balancing thrilling experiences with meticulous care.

Service? We’ve got that covered too. We’re here to make your trip unforgettable, and if there’s something on your mind, we’ll move mountains (or at least icebergs) to make it right

The pursuit of sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Adventure Canada. We're deeply aware that our business— like all businesses— impacts the world around us. And that we have the potential to do good.

Our approach to sustainability begins with a harshly self-honest assessment of our impacts. Our ships and planes contribute to climate change. Our operations generate waste, and we know tourism can leave footprints on local cultures and communities in ways we might not intend. And the list goes on. But awareness is just the first step—action is where it counts.

We approach sustainability with a two-fold mission: first, to mitigate or eliminate harm we might cause,

and second, to maximize the positive changes we can create along the way.

We are investing in more efficient ships and are making it easy for our guests to offset the climate impacts of their time with us. On our primary ships, we have eliminated single-use plastics, aggressively reduced our waste generation, adjusted our meal plans to reduce both carbon and waste impacts, and implemented a “green” purchasing program and tools—to name a few of our improvements

Sustainability isn’t just about protecting the planet— it’s about people, too. For the communities we visit, it’s about building trust, fostering mutual respect, and doing our best to ensure that every community thrives long after we’ve set sail. It’s about fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for our guests and team members.

For us, environmental integrity isn’t a checkbox; it’s a lifelong responsibility and a shared adventure.

We take sustainability seriously.

Our Taste of Place program is another cornerstone of our regenerative travel efforts. It’s about enjoying a meal, and experiencing a place through its flavours, traditions, and stories. Where possible, you’ll learn about local harvest methods, meet regional producers, and taste dishes rooted in cultural heritage. We work hand-in-hand with local partners, champion Indigenous food traditions, and contribute to local economies. Taste of Place transforms every bite into a connection between people, place, and purpose.

©Todd Mintz
Expedition team members, John Houston and Randy Edmunds host a Taste of Place event along with local residents.

Life Aboard and Ashore

Life aboard our ship is a delightful mix of serenity and zaniness—it all depends on your vibe and the time of day. Two things are certain: boredom doesn’t stand a chance, and you’ll discover kindred spirits to share the adventure.

Expedition life is all about adaptability, and every day offers something new. From captivating talks and hands-on workshops to trivia nights, concerts, singalongs, theme dinners, and dances, there’s never a dull moment.

When we step ashore, you choose the activity that suits you best—an energizing hike, a relaxed

beachcombing stroll, or a chance to spend time with a member of our expedition team—picking up photography tips, sharpening observation skills, or learning how they read the landscape.

Of course, in the wild, nature always calls the shots. While we aim for Plan A, sometimes Mother Nature throws us a curveball and insists on plans B or C—and that’s OK. Often, these surprises lead to moments even more magical than we imagined. Safety, comfort, and joy always come first. On an expedition, it’s the unexpected that makes it extraordinary!

A High Arctic Odyssey

In Svalbard, the return of spring sets this High Arctic world in motion, reshaping ice, wildlife, and the rhythms of the landscape. As the sun lingers above the horizon, the archipelago reveals glacier-fed fjords, drifting pack ice, and coastlines where human history feels tentative against the scale of the landscape. Encounters with wildlife unfold on nature’s terms, from seabirds returning to the nesting cliffs and walrus resting at the ice edge to the rare and powerful sight of polar bears navigating the broken surface of the pack ice. Here shifting ice and living systems meet in a palce that feels vast, alert and continuallly changing. A place that invites attention, humility, and a deeper understanding of the Arctic on its own terms.

Wild Horses and Outpost Legacy

Wild horses roam its dunes, grey seals crowd its shores, and the Ipswich sparrow nests nowhere else on Earth. Its story is stitched from shipwrecks, science, and resilience. Rare, remote, and profoundly alive, Sable Island is a reminder that the Atlantic still holds places that reshape how you see the world, and your place within it.

HIGHLIGHTS

›Witness the world’s largest grey seal colony hauled out along windswept beaches

›Encounter Sable’s iconic wild horses, untamed and resilient, moving with quiet power across the dunes

›Wander the shifting sand dunes of this crescentshaped island—a smile in the sea

›Spot Ipswich sparrows—an endemic subspecies found only breed here

›Learn about Sable’s human history: shipwrecks, survival, and scientific discovery

›Reflect on the legacy of the island’s life-saving stations and the people who once lived at the edge of the Atlantic

Where Art Meets Land

A century after A.Y. Jackson and Dr. Frederick Banting sailed north aboard the Beothic, we revisit their Arctic experience through Greenland’s fjords, Baffin’s coasts, and Ellesmere Island's high latitudes. In partnership with the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, this centennial voyage blends exploration with artistic insight and research. Curator John Geoghegan brings those early works to life on board and ashore, while Inuit reveal the North as a living homeland, not a blank canvas.
