Whitehall Road Regional Park is officially open! This brand-new regional park in Ferguson Township is ready for the community to explore, play, and connect
Phase 1 amenities include:
�� 15,000 square-foot “Centre for ALL Playground - Where All Abilities Play Together”
⚽ 4 tournament-ready athletic fields - two fields w/LED sports lighting
�� Walking paths with scenic valley views
�� A StoryWalk curated in partnerships with Schlow Library for promoting literacy in the outdoors
�� ADA-compliant restrooms
�� Mascolo Garden Reflection Area and native pollinator gardens
�� Ample parking and trail connections to the Musser Gap Greenway, linking to Rothrock State Forest
This milestone was made possible through years of vision, collaboration, and community support with special thanks to our municipal partners, generous donors, elected officials, and the dedicated staff and crews who worked hard to bring the park to life

Design is underway for the park’s concession and pavilion facility, featuring shaded seating and food service areas to support tournaments, programs, and gatherings. The project is expected to go out to bid in late 2025, with construction anticipated in spring or summer 2026. Once complete, the facility will enhance year-round use and elevate the visitor experience for athletes, spectators, and park users.
Pack a picnic, grab your favorite people, and kick back at the park for an evening of games and fun. Lavender Scouts is an affinity scouting group designed for queer (LGBTQIA+) and questioning youth. In addition to providing a safe space for youth in the queer community to make connections and grow together, badges will be earned by participating in activities that merge natural history, cultural history, creativity, and community service. Themes of strength, resilience, and identity will be juxtaposed with the flora, fauna, and habitats of the marsh. Participants will enjoy time naturalizing in the marsh on nature walks, doing nature-themed arts and crafts, and learning about the cultural history of the queer community and the Gay Rights movement in the United States. The program is designed for ongoing enrollment (season-long), though can easily accommodate scouts who sign up after the season begins Prorated fees and scholarships are available! Designed for the child to develop a comfort level in the water as well as a readiness for learning how to swim. Children will receive an introduction to basic swimming and water safety skills.

Ages 3-6
Prerequisite: Level 1 or equivalent. At completion, children are able to submerge and retrieve objects, glide and kick on front and back, bob 10 times, demonstrate three yards of front and back crawl, and demonstrate basic water safely skills.

Ages 4-12
Designed for children beginning swim lessons. At completion, children are able to submerge face, float and kick with support, demonstrate a combined stroke on front and on back, and demonstrate very basic water safety skills
6:20-7 PM Ages 4-12
Prerequisite: Level 2 or equivalent. At completion, children are able to bob 15 times, jump into deep water, dive from a kneeling position, and demonstrate 10 yards of front and back crawl stroke, elementary backstroke kick, treading water, and water safety skills
6:20-7 PM Ages 4-12
Prerequisite: Level 3 or equivalent. At completion, children are able to demonstrate a standing front dive, elementary backstroke, 25 yards of front and back crawl, breaststroke and sidestroke kicks, treading water, and water safety skills.

Prerequisite: Level 4 or equivalent. At completion, children are able to demonstrate 50 yards of front and back crawl, 10 yards of breaststroke and sidestroke, 25 yards of elementary backstroke, butterfly kick, turns, and water safety skills.

Ages 5-14
Learn and practice basic springboard diving skills. Instruction will cater to teaching the basics to new divers with an introduction to the basics of the sport Participants must be able to swim across the diving well

Line dancing is a fun and interactive exercise class set to music. By participating in this exciting class, you will achieve benefits such as reduction of stress and depression; increased energy and serotonin; improved flexibility, strength, balance, and endurance; strengthening of bones and improved cardiovascular health; increased mental capacity while exercising cognitive processes; and enhanced dynamic and rapid-fire decision making. No experience needed. Once you have mastered the steps, join the regular line dancing group on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10:30 AM.

Deeply rooted in Chinese medicine, meditation, and martial arts, Tai Chi combines mental concentration with slow, controlled movements to focus the mind and challenge the body. This is an ongoing, multi-level practice group that includes individual and small group instruction. Beginners learn a 24-posture form that combines breathing with motion and balance. Tone your muscles, build body strength, and improve conditioning during the advanced BOOM Muscle Silversneakers class. You’ll move through several “blocks,” which are groups of exercises that focus on different muscle groups. Silversneakers BOOM Mind is an intermediate class that offers the best of Yoga, Pilates, and Barre combined in a mind-body mat workout. Build endurance while increasing flexibility; class may include floor work. If you do not have the Silversneakers health insurance benefit and would like to participate in the class, contact instructor Shelly Vaughan at skvaughan@comcast.net to sign-up.
