PLANET IX is the upcoming asset trading strategy game from NIBIRU. In the words of Felipe Dunley, Creative Director at NIBIRU, the game aims to “break the barrier from digital space to the real world” and will be launching its first phase in July.

”If there was suddenly a new planet in our solar system, a planet not unlike our own, what would its future look like?” Dunley said, “Would its inhabitants take better care of this new planet than we do? How would they tackle the global issues we’re facing today?”

In PLANET IX players will compete for dominance, land, prestige, and rewards in this new, one of a kind, strategy game. The map for PLANET IX is a digital version of planet Earth, divided into millions of hexagons called PIX. These PIX will have different rarities and values, but players can increase the value of their PIX by buying adjacent PIX and combining them into Groups. Inviting friends to join PLANET IX will also earn you advantages in the game, putting you in a stronger position.

Some PIX will come with added bonuses - landmarks. These digital versions of awe inspiring structures such as Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, or the Burj Khalifa in Dubai will be especially valuable. They will be completely unique digital tokens, also known as NFTs, with only one of each in the game. If you own it, no one else can...unless you sell it to another player. And there are more ideas behind the NFTs, but for that you will have to wait until the game starts later in 2021.

When the game is fully launched and you’ve opened your packs of PIX, it’s time to hit the marketplace. Players will get the chance to earn real currency while they play. Trade, and buy PIX with other players to expand and increase the value of your collection. Sell isolated PIX for real currency, so you can buy new PIX closer to your group of PIX in order to turn it into a big ingame asset that can grant you greater possibilities later in the game. Play smart to get the best possible price for new PIX, or sell off your own collection and focus on the other side of the planet where the competition is less fierce.

PLANET IX will eventually open every PIX type for development, but not every PIX can be developed in the same way. Desert PIX will offer players the possibility to develop Renewable Energy Power Plants which will enormously boost their collective value, for example. A Capital City Center PIX will have the opportunity for development, but only in Commerce and Real Estate: you won’t be able to build power plants in a city centre, and that resource will be locked off for you.

PLANET IX is the perfect opportunity to show off your ability to strike a great deal, earn real currency, and have a whole lot of fun in the process. But PLANET IX isn’t just about having fun, PLANET IX also wants to give something back to the world that made it possible.

Player actions on PLANET IX will make a real difference, back here on planet Earth. The company behind PLANET IX will donate a percentage of specific ingame transactions to a foundation working to conserve vital habitats through reforestation. A good deal in PLANET IX is a great deal for planet Earth.
