DARRELL NESBITT/CROSSROADS THIS WEEK

Over two days of the August long weekend, the Birtle Agricultural Society held its 142nd annual Fair, which offers something for all ages, including the popular heavy horse show. In the Single Horse Tandem Class on Aug. 2, the entry of Wallace Clydesdales of Dauphin achieved first place status. Small town fairs are a social gathering like no other, as dedicated volunteers and the entire community come together to celebrate agricultural traditions.

The beneficiaries of the Full Circle Fund stand out for their impactful community initiatives. The funding aims to enhance various local projects, from revitalizing historical landmarks to upgrading playgrounds and expanding youth athletic programs. Local recipients include:

The application deadline for the fall intake is set for Oct. 1, providing another opportunity for local organizations to bring their transformative community projects to life.
