DARRELL NESBITT/CROSSROADS THIS WEEK
When a cycling partner needs to check the operation of his brakes, patience is required, as was the case with this pair of youngsters spotted heading to school in Shoal Lake on Monday, April 22. Most bicycles were left at home the following day however, as sidewalks were covered in layers of frozen ice and slush as the region was hit with a fair amount of snow, rain, and blustery winds that caused travel hazards once again.
Russell’s Leonard Derkach, Shoal Lake’s Glen Findlay, and Minnedosa’s Harold Gilleshammer receive honour

Crossroads This Week
Three individuals from the communities of Minnedosa, Russell, and Shoal Lake have received King Charles III Coronation Medals in recognition of their outstanding contributions to leadership and community service. These prestigious awards were
part of a national initiative that included the distribution of 30,000 medals across Canada, with local recipients selected by Progressive Conservative MLAs from western Manitoba.

Derkach’s contributions extend
