Showcasing perfect form on the back of his draw, known as TS812 Wayway Ways, Stover posted a score of 71 on opening night, good enough for 7th place overall. More help is on the way for residents across the region, as many are still cleaning up after a brutal string of June and July floods. The Manitoba government has expanded eligibility under the onetime Manitoba Flood Recovery Program (MFRP), adding several hard-hit municipalities to the list of communities that can now apply
for support. Among them are four municipalities local to this coverage area: Prairie View Municipality (PVM), Rural Municipality (R.M.) of Riding Mountain West, Rossburn Municipality and the Municipality of Russell-Binscarth. Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor, who is also the minister responsible for the Emergency Management Organization, announced the expansion, pointing to the scale of damage left behind by repeated heavy

rainfall. “Large areas experienced multiple heavy rainfall events throughout June, resulting in significant flooding, causing extensive damage to homes, farms, businesses and public buildings,” Naylor said. “This expansion ensures that communities are provided with the essential support they need to recover and build mitigation strategies for the future.” The flooding hit in waves. In response, the province launched three separate Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) programs, one for each major flood event, along with the one-time MFRP.
